• Oversee the maintenance and repair of about 100 vehicles, including emergency response vehicles, and a variety of equipment (e.g., generators, trailers, boom trucks, compressors, wheel loaders, street sweepers, etc.).

• Diagnose mechanical tissues and perform or coordinate the necessary repairs to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition and meet proper safety protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure parts and equipment.
• Oversee the upfitting process for first responder vehicles, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and technology to support emergency operations.
• Support maintenance of the Department's asset management software to track vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules and inventory.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders, promptly responding to repair requests and informing them of maintenance progress. 
• Supervise a part-time mechanic.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The position of Administrative Analyst is a fully qualified journey-level professional classification. Administrative Analyst is distinguished from Management Analyst in that the Management Analyst has a higher level of managerial, budgetary and program administration responsibility. Under the direction of the Director of Public Works or their designee, the Management Analyst I performs a variety of journey-level, professional and technical administrative duties in support of Public Works. Work assigned may be in a specific program area and/or to perform administrative duties in support of a division of Public Works or the department as a whole, including research and analysis. The Management Analyst I plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the Public Works department and will be responsible for:

• Asset Management and Tracking: Facilitating the acceptance of new streets and utilities into the City’s inventory and maintaining meticulous records of maintenance activities through ArcGIS. 

• Optimizing Fleet Operations: Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and requirements such as annual use reporting, emissions, registration, vehicle/fuel procurement and inventory systems. 

• Public Communications, Marketing, and Stakeholder Outreach: Assisting in the development and execution of public communication strategies, marketing campaigns, and stakeholder outreach initiatives to enhance community engagement and awareness of Public Works programs and projects.

• Department and Division Budgeting: Collaborating with departmental stakeholders to assist in budget preparation, tracking, forecasting, and contributing to the development and publication of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) bi-annually.

• Sanitary Sewer System Program Management: Supporting the management and implementation of the Sanitary Sewer System program by overseeing tasks such as managing and updating sewer lateral ordinances, updating sewer rates, calculating and tracking Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDUs), and updating the Sanitary System Management Plan and annual reporting Plan in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Personnel Functions: Acting as a liaison to Human Resources and assisting in various personnel functions including recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, tracking, and calendar updates as necessary to ensure timely personnel management.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

• Possess a BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.
• Be an Outside/Inside Plant specialist. Airport experience preferred.
• Ability to determine the scope, cost, and time for existing and new OSP/ISP projects that are moderate to complex in a matrix environment.
• Outside/Inside plant construction and project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with data center industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of fiber optic engineering principles with OSP job-related functional areas to include general best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• 5 years or more experiences working in mission critical environments (e.g., airports, utilities, telecommunications carriers, etc.) requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
• 5+ years mission critical Data Center operations experience.
• 5+ years' Telecom industry experience.
• 5+ years' experience with Outside Plant cabling (OSP) & Inside Plant cabling (ISP), structured cabling systems.
• Experience coordinating with GIS teams to ensure as-builts are reflected in existing mapping tools.
• Experience working with GIS teams to document all fiber paths, terminations, and splices for all cabling projects.

Salary Information:

San Jose Animal Care Services, a division in the Public Works Department is currently seeking to fill four (4) full-time Animal Care Attendant vacancies. Both day and night shifts are available.

Animal Care Attendants report to the Shelter Manager of Animal Care and Services and are primarily responsible for feeding, caring for, and moving shelter animals; euthanizing animals; and cleaning and disinfecting kennels and cages. This position will undergo training (4-6 weeks) during normal business hours and will be scheduled to work 5 days a week in either a daytime shift OR overnight shift ( e.g . 9:00 pm to 5:30 a m) after training has been completed. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. Example: Microsoft security patching, updating appliance firmware, maintaining Cyber Security definitions, monitoring Anti-Spam solution, monitoring Cyber Security appliances, and recommending modifications to existing Cyber Security hardware, software, and overall security stance.
