The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the County-wide classification of Senior Accounting Technician. The current vacancy exists within the Treasurer – Tax Collector’s Office. The Department of Public Works is currently seeking to fill multiple full-time Engineer I/II vacancies of different disciplines that may be assigned to work in the various divisions of the department including Transportation and Hydraulic Services (THS) or Development Services (DS).

Transportation and Hydraulic Services Division The Transportation and Hydraulics Services Division is responsible for the design, construction, and master plan of bridges, culverts, streets, sidewalks, storm and sanitary sewers, pump stations, streetlights, landscape and hardscape improvements, traffic signals, and supports construction and engineering, upgrade and revitalization of the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. In addition, this division provides general engineering plan review for general projects and electrical engineering review for projects constructed by private developers.

Development Services Division

The Development Services Division provides development plan review and construction of City infrastructure in conjunction with the private development process, administers permits for work within City's streets, and provides utilities services.

Airport Capital Improvements Program

The Airport Division Capital Improvements team is responsible for the project management and delivery of capital projects related to San Jose Mineta International Airport.

City Facilities Architectural Services Division CFAS Division has the primary responsibility for the delivery of capital improvements projects on City properties and provides design and construction services for public buildings, landscape improvements, and capital maintenance projects, including recreational facilities, parks, trails, libraries, public safety facilities, and various cultural facilities.

Engineering Services Division

The Engineering Services Division is comprised of four sections: Construction Management Services, Structural Engineering and Code Inspection, Material Testing Laboratory, and Survey. This division provides technical support services to City Capital Improvement Programs and Projects, development/utility permit projects, and other citywide customers.

The ideal candidates will possess a high level of professionalism, excellent customer service skills, and supreme work ethic. The position requires excellent judgement, initiative, perseverance, integrity, organizational skills, flexibility, and written and verbal communication skills. Under the direction of an Associate Engineer, these candidates may perform the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities (Dependent upon the position/discipline for which they may be selected.)

     * Develop, review, and interpret plans and specifications for conformance to established standards for major City projects

     * Prepare resource and/or cost estimates

     * Perform field investigation

     * Prepare and administer consultant agreements

     * Supervise, schedule, assign and direct activities for Inspectors and/or Engineering Technicians, Student Interns, and

     * Engineering Trainees

     * Review and make recommendations concerning proposed projects and resolve disputes between contractors, inspectors,

     * developers, utilities, and consultants

     * Work collaboratively in a group or team environment and communicate clearly and effectively

     * Prepare a variety of correspondences and reports

     * Utilize various computer programs to analyze data and produce presentations

     * Generate and maintain project information in the City's database system

     * Ability to perform CAD drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation

     * Review storm pump station circuit and motor control diagrams

     * Review engineering to support pump station upgrades, force mains and miscellaneous structures

     * Review designs, improvement plans, estimates, specifications, and contract documents for capital improvements projects

     * Assists in CEQA and other permits process

     * Process invoices/pay letters, change orders and submittals

     * Perform complex calculations and data management tasks using MS Excel

     * Coordinate with contractors and/or other City departments to plan and develop City projects

     * Perform a range of work in the field of design, project management or construction project management

     * Assist in the revision of City of San José standard plans and specifications as needed

     * Interact, coordinate, and provide customer service to engineers, inspectors, consultants, contractors, local agencies, citizen

     * groups, general public, and other City Departments

     * Use EADOC construction management software for managing the documentation of capital improvement projects

HHPZ is open year-round catering to families with children. The department of Parks, Creation and Neighborhood Services is currently seeking to fill two Part Time Security Officers positions for Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.

The hourly range for Security Officer part time classification is $28.77-$34.98. This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

Under the direction of the HHPZ Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor, the part time Security Officer performs security work of moderate difficulty in maintaining a safe environment for the use of public buildings/facilities utilized by San José and Bay Area Residents. This is a highly visible City-wide facility and program with a focus on ensuring safety, security, and customer service for the guests, partners, and staff of Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. This would include patrols, incident reporting, emergency services coordination and customer service. This position works Sunday-Thursday, occasional special events, and some holidays.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

     * Walk HHPZ - inside park, outside fence line, parking lots - East Lot, K1, K2 & K4

     * Report, track and follow up on any break ins, graffiti, litter, guest issues or urgent issues to proper channels

     * Compile issues data, damages amounts and complaints

     * Coordinate Guard daily plan and schedules

     * Communicate with Guard Vendors, walk facility with new guards from vendor

     * Assist clearing the park

     * Coordinate and/or conducts Safety trainings

     * Assist with emergency planning and procedure research

     * Patrols property, watching for signs of prowlers, vandalism, damage to property or needed repairs; reports necessary repairs or suspicious circumstances which cannot be taken care of personally.

     * Checks to see that building security is maintained and that building is secured.

     * Handles disturbance problems, enforces safety regulations, provides information on security measures, enforcement activities and emergency procedures.

     * May assist in recovery of materials, loss prevention, investigation of illegal acts committed.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The incumbent’s duties include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, batch runs and wire transfers, tracking and maintaining manual and computerized accounting and financial records, establishing and updating vendor records, and performing related duties as assigned. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision.
