The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the County-wide classification of Senior Accounting Technician. The current vacancy exists within the Treasurer – Tax Collector’s Office. Under direction, the incumbent performs a variety of technical financial and accounting duties that require a specialized knowledge; provide administrative support to assigned supervisor; perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series, which may include providing lead direction over assigned personnel and performing duties including, but not limited to, verifying and updating assessment tax roll information, leading the centralized payroll function, and assisting with the preparation of budget documents and perform other duties as assigned. This is the advanced journey level in the technical accounting series. 

This is a County-wide classification. The employment list established from this recruitment may be utilized to fill additional vacancies within the same classification in other departments if they arise during the duration of the list.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriff’s perform a wide variety of patrol officer and related duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace situations, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, report writing, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony, and providing information and assistance to the public and perform related duties as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to a specific geographic area for patrol, investigations, crime prevention or other peace officer-related functions.

About the Position

Position is responsible for a wide variety of recreation activities, including supervising Youth Center gym rentals and scorekeeping for adult and youth sports leagues (softball, basketball, flag football soccer, bocce ball, kickball, corn hole). Responsibilities during scorekeeping will include head on site supervisor, set up and cleanup of facility or field, maintain score and game time. Receives general supervision from a full-time Recreation Department staff member; may work under functional supervision of a Program Coordinator as assigned.

Schedule will vary depending on sports season; mornings, nights, and weekends as scheduled. Monday-Friday between hours 5:00pm-10:30pm, and weekends as scheduled.

Essential Duties

• Works directly with the public.
• Serves as site or program supervisor.
• Directs program participants as appropriate.
• Performs site maintenance duties.
• Serves as field or gym supervisor.
• Maintains accurate score and game time. 
• Uses and maintains recreation equipment.

About the Position

Positions in this classification perform work in the organization and implementation of a wide variety of recreation activities. 

The work schedule will be Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-9:00pm but may vary based on the needs of the City.

The Program Coordinator classification is the top-level position in the Recreation Leader Series.  Advancement from Recreation Leader Level II to Program Coordinator requires 500 hours of work experience at Recreation Leader Level II, or equivalent experience.

May provide functional supervision to a Recreation Leader I or II as assigned.  Receives general supervision from a full-time Recreation Department staff member.

Essential Duties

• Provide evening customer support, which includes front desk coverage at the Adult Community Center, processing registrations and payments, processing refunds and transfers, answering phone, contacting customers through emails and calls.

• Room set ups and break downs.

• Assist with program marketing including social media and flyers.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

The Finance Department has an opportunity to staff a Senior Info Technology Technician.  We seek a skilled individual with the competence and experience to address IT challenges confidently and professionally. The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the areas of customer focus, communication, teamwork, excellent judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries regarding PC systems and programs at user sites throughout the City
• Troubleshoots hardware and software problems and recommends hardware, software, and configuration changes for City-wide implementation
• Installs desktop/laptop equipment and software; customizes installed software to specific requirements of the user department; reconfigures software to correct problems or conflicts between applications and hardware
• Provide desktop support and troubleshooting to City staff
• Serves as local area network (LAN) administrator; ensures LAN performance, maintains security, creates new users, and installs related hardware
• Installs virus signature files on servers and workstations for use with an anti-virus system; responds to and troubleshoots virus invasions of the City network

Under the administrative direction of the Ports Finance and Administration Division, the Information Systems (IS) Director plans, directs, and coordinates information system operations and activities for the Port of San Francisco. This includes overseeing system design, development, and implementation, as well as coordinating data and information systems across departments. The IS Director is responsible for the operation and maintenance of these systems.

The Port is in the process of replacing several business-critical systems in the next five years, including real estate and work order management systems.  The IS Director will lead these efforts, requiring the creation of a systems strategic plan that aligns different systems with the Port’s primary business needs while integrating with citywide financial and payroll systems.  This plan will involve collaborating with business divisions to identify and prioritize system requirements, such as vacancy, profit and loss, and common area expense allocation reports for the real estate portfolio, as well as berthing management systems for various visiting ships and boats.

The IS Director will also identify necessary business division process changes and establish short- and long-term deliverables. This position oversees two distinct functions: an applications group responsible for implementing and maintaining technology applications tailored to the Port’s needs, and an infrastructure group that ensures a stable and secure environment for desktop and mobile devices.

The essential duties of IS Director include the following:

• Develops and implements the strategic systems plan for the Port.
• Leads the IS division, building capacity and supporting the infrastructure and business applications teams.
• Plans and directs the day-to-day information systems activities for the Port, including application and infrastructure support, desktop administration and IS Help Desk support services.
• Performs continuous evaluation and assessment of all activities, providing timely reports to upper management. 
• Develops and manages the IS budget, including project management and hardware/software procurement.
• Develops and manages the Port’s technology policies, standards, and strategy, ensuring alignment with citywide technology goals and standards.
• Oversees devices and information management, security and compliance, risk management and response, and technology governance.
• Supervises, evaluates, trains, and coach staff and consultants in the performance of their assigned duties, adhering to departmental and city and county standards, policies, and procedures.
• Serves as liaison and representative of the Port with various City and County staff, policy-making officials, and officials of external agencies.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department provides critical financial services citywide, setting the policy controls over the use of City funds. It leads the fiscal accountability efforts and ensures the responsible and legal use of City funds through thoughtful appropriations and implementation and management of policies and procedures. It is responsible for numerous vital City services, including maintaining the City’s accounting system, managing payroll and purchasing procedures, issuing business licenses, managing parking districts, and collecting occupancy taxes and other City fees. Other services include financial planning and analysis, risk mitigation, strategic consulting, and leading the City’s budget process.

Central County Fire Department (CCFD) serves the Cities of Burlingame and Millbrae and the Town of Hillsborough. The Department serves a population of 66,045 from six fire stations across a service area of approximately 15 square miles. CCFD is supported by 91 FTEs and a FY2023-24 operating budget of $33.14 million. 

CCFD seeks a hands-on human resources professional with a solid foundation in public sector personnel management. This knowledgeable individual will have a well-rounded background and understanding of the various human resources disciplines, with particular strength in labor relations. As the sole service provider in Human Resources, they will enjoy multi-tasking and working on a variety of projects and priorities in a supportive and collaborative organization.

The HR Manager will oversee recruitment and selection, labor and employee relations, employee training and development, performance management, classification and compensation, benefits, leave management, and Workers’ Compensation administration.
