The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is the county’s largest provider of affordable housing, helping make rental housing safe and affordable for approximately 20,000 low-income households.

How You Will Make an Impact:

SCCHA’s Real Estate Development Division is a mission oriented, dynamic, and collaborative team, working closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets in service of the tenants and communities we serve.  By embedding the innovative spirit of the Silicon Valley into our agency’s culture, we are elevating our efforts to address the affordable housing shortage in Santa Clara County.  To ensure equity and justice, we prioritize housing developments for extremely low-income individuals and families that embrace residents’ lived experiences.  Our resident-centered approach leverages our real estate capacity, talented staff, and community partnerships. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be a part of the real estate department and help us to develop a pipeline of over 20 projects and over 1200 units of affordable housing.  We are looking for an individual that will oversee and manage a team of project managers with projects ranging from new construction multi-family housing, renovation and rehabilitation of existing structures, repurposing of commercial properties for affordable housing, and master planning of large transit-oriented sites.

What Our Team Is Looking For:

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, or a related field; and
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in residential property development, acquisition, and/or rehabilitation, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) from applications and financing through conversion, to permanent financing, including two (2) years of experience supervising and managing affordable housing and development programs, budgets, activities and staff.

This position prepares hot and cold food for inmates; supervises and instructs inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to other inmates in a detention facility; receives, stores, and maintains ingredients used for meals; and monitors and maintains security of the kitchen facility, equipment, and inmate workers. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Checks menus and number of persons to be fed; instructs inmates in obtaining necessary ingredient for meals and preparing work area; instruct inmates in a variety of chopping, cutting, mixing, grating, and food preparation tasks; instructs inmates on the operation of stoves and other equipment.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of special meals for inmates with medical problems.
• Supervises inmates in the cleaning of all equipment and kitchen work area; counts and keeps logs on all knives. Assists in keeping current inventory of kitchen and food supplies.
• Receives and checks supplies to ensure that proper amounts and types have been delivered; instructs inmates in transporting supplies to proper areas for storage.
   

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Specialist I to join the Housing Division in the Community Development Department. Under direction of the Housing Officer, the Housing Specialist I will play a key role in the planning and development of new affordable housing, creating new housing programs, implementing the Housing Element, applying for grants/funding to support affordable housing, and monitoring housing legislation. The Housing Specialist I will perform technical and professional level planning and community development work, with an emphasis on creation and implementation of affordable housing programs. This position will closely collaborate with affordable housing developers, various housing advocacy groups, local non-profits, and the community. The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The shared goal of facility staff is to provide youth with support and tools that will assist them with successfully reintegrating back into the community.  Staff are provided with state mandated relevant training, which includes youth trauma; crisis management; cultural competence; mental health awareness; sexual abuse and harassment; and proper use of force.

Housing Programs Specialist II

This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations, policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

These positions are part-time (20 hours a week) and provide a flexible work schedule. We are looking for candidates that enjoy teaching & working with preschool and school aged children. The working hours are Monday through Friday.
