The County of Yuba is recruiting to fill and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department. The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned.
The Emergency Dispatcher I/II position in the Sheriff’s Department performs a variety of difficult work in the provision of 24-hour-per-day, seven-days-per-week public safety emergency dispatch service, including all 911 communications. Emergency Dispatcher I is the entry level class in the Emergency Dispatcher series. It differs from Emergency Dispatcher II in that the II level is fully trained as a dispatcher and may provide training for the Dispatcher I. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Positions in the Public Safety Dispatcher Classification are funded by the City's General Fund, allocated to the Police Department Budget.
Special Pay Incentives:
- Premium Pay – An additional $4/hour for all dispatch personnel, paid through June 30, 2023.
