The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships, engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving, and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Quality Assurance Senior Program Coordinator oversees quality assurance activities of the behavioral health programs (Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment) for the Youth and Family Services Division and other divisions providing behavioral health services. The incumbent will perform routine audits of clinical client records, tabulation and reporting of audit results to individual programs, to ensure the programs comply with State Medi-Cal standards. This position is a core member driving the Human Services Department’s quality assurance and improvement processes in partnership with the department’s clinical and billing management team.

Examples of Job Duties

• Oversee clinical quality improvement processes and behavioral health record review.
• Develop internal audit processes to ensure compliance with state mental health and drug Medi-Cal documentation and timeliness requirements are met.
• Represent department at all county-based QA meetings/events and state conferences for larger system changes such as California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services.
• Develop working relationships with county QA to provide continual improvements to City of Fremont work-flow and compliance issues.
• Review, gather and synthesize county policies, contract and documentation requirements to ensure compliance including Site Certification requirements.
• Develop training manuals/materials and evaluation processes to align with employee performance standards.
• May be required to supervise clinical program staff.

This position receives general supervision from the assigned Director and will be considered a position that carries dual responsibilities. The selected candidate will exercise direct supervision over park maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and support service personnel.  He/she will be a working supervisor who provides leadership and direction to assigned staff while also functioning as a skilled tradesperson who is able to take the lead and fill in as needed, in any section of Parks and Facilities.

As Parks Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates park maintenance employees and supports service crews.  

• He/she will oversee, coordinate and/or lead park and facilities personnel, support service crews, and park maintenance crews.
• Schedules and directs the work of assigned parks maintenance personnel, including ensuring parks and facilities are properly prepared for rentals and reservations.
• Works with crews to assure accuracy and compliance with City standards.
• Submits weekly logs of work in progress and jobs completed by crews.
• Responds to public complaints regarding parks projects through proper channels and informs appropriate staff of City standards and policies.
• Coordinates with the Recreation Division on all events to ensure parks and facilities are properly prepared; assigns staff to assist with events as needed.
• Performs employee evaluations for assigned staff.

As Facility Supervisor, the incumbent directs and coordinates maintenance, repair, and upkeep of City buildings and facilities, and supervises janitorial staff responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of City buildings and facilities.

• Performs a variety of work in the maintenance, construction, alteration, and repair of City buildings and facilities; identifies and corrects building and equipment problems to maintain facilities in a safe condition, prevent degradation of City property, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service.
• Performs skilled work across multiple building trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, welding, and related crafts to maintain and repair City buildings, structures, and equipment.
• Inspects City buildings and structures to identify repair needs; evaluates conditions and recommends appropriate corrective action or modifications to meet City standards and building codes.
• Obtains estimates and quotes for materials and equipment needed for repairs and completion of job tasks; prepares reports of inspections and labor and material estimates for the Director.
• Supervises janitorial staff responsible for cleaning and sanitizing City buildings, facilities, and park restrooms; ensures facilities are properly prepared for rentals and reservations; monitors service standards and schedules.
• Performs general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
• Installs, programs, and maintains security camera systems at City buildings, parks, and facilities to ensure proper coverage and functionality.
• Performs and schedules preventative maintenance on City buildings, facilities, and equipment to minimize deterioration and reduce the need for costly repairs.
• Remains current on job-specific expertise through trade publications, vendor communication, and other sources to keep abreast of the latest technological developments and products.
• Performs related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Knowledge of the methods, procedures, equipment, tools, practices, and techniques used in facilities building maintenance and parks, including carpentry, plumbing, woodworking, painting, electrical, heating, welding, and/or ventilation work; methods, materials, practices, and tools of the building and construction trades; principles and practices of effective supervision, training, and performance evaluation; cost estimating and design; basic principles of mathematics; occupational hazards and standard safety procedures; pest control; and irrigation systems. Ability to oversee, coordinate, and direct the work of others in a supervisor capacity; plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for the City's parks and facilities; inspect buildings and equipment to locate conditions needing repair; estimate time and materials needed to complete work projects; program computerized energy control systems; interpret and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches; safely operate necessary equipment efficiently and skillfully; maintain records and logs; observe safety principles; follow written and oral directions; prepare accurate written reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships; and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Skill to safely and effectively operate a variety of power and hand tools used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities.

Resources:  Including Equipment, Materials and Records; various hand and power tools, digging and cutting tools, portable generator, telephone, reports, forms, pencils, and pens, calculators, automobile, maps, plans, and blueprints, key to City locks.
 

Solving Problems and Performance of Others: Troubleshoots and resolves non-routine maintenance and repair issues across parks and building systems and independently determines appropriate corrective action. Supervises parks maintenance workers, janitorial staff, and support service personnel and performs building and facilities repair and maintenance work independently.
 

Relations: Internally works with supervisors, other construction and maintenance personnel, and all City departments. Externally represents the city and communicates with various outside agencies.
 

Communications: Communicates effectively in oral and written form; prepares accurate written reports; recognizes unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating conditions and takes appropriate action.

Safety: Daily exposure to hazardous conditions associated with tool and equipment usage and exposure to the elements while performing duties. Consequences range from minor injury such as scrapes, contusions, burns, and abrasions up to and including permanent disability or death.

The City of Stockton Human Resources Department is seeking a Program Manager III who will be responsible for managing the department’s budget, contracts, compiling and analyzing data, as well as preparing reports in support of division operations, departmental initiatives, and labor negotiations. These core areas represent key responsibilities of the role; however, the position may also be assigned to oversee projects and additional duties as needed to support broader organizational goals.

The incumbent will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Fridays, with every other Friday off.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Incumbents in this management level classification are responsible, in addition to the above, for directing and managing compliance by departments with the policies and procedures of the program(s) under the supervision of this class. Work is done under the direct authority of the City Manager or departmental senior management due to the critical nature of the policies and programs. Assignments allow for a high degree of autonomy and administrative decision making in their execution. This class is distinguished from the general administrative support classes in that the duties relate specifically to administration of specialized programs.

DEFINITION

Performs a variety of advanced technical and specialized accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions. Analyzes accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined by federal, local, and state regulations as well as the Finance department. Trains and provides technical advice to lower-level accounting personnel, and performs related work as required. Works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction from the Finance Director/Treasurer. May exercise supervision over additional professional, technical and/or support staff as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and maintain payroll function for the Town; manage records for employee deductions; create reports and arrange payments to various taxing and financial organizations; and interpret and implement guidelines provided by other agencies related to payroll and deductions.
• Prepare quarterly and yearly payroll reports for federal and state agencies; responsible for capital asset accounting and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Makes wire transfers and journal funding transfers and reconciles monthly bank statements.
• Respond to inquiries from Town employees and vendors (if necessary) and explain processes and systems; compose correspondence as necessary.
• Review entries made to various financial records for proper coding and maintenance of appropriate accounting procedures; review cash receipts, business license, and accounts payable entries; prepare monthly health benefit and retirement benefit payments.
• Monitor and maintain Capital Improvement Program projects and grant activities; ensure compliance with stipulations and reporting requirements, and confirm data is recorded in the Town’s financial accounting system.
• Assists with the fiscal year-end close and fixed asset accounting, including prepare audit schedule.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Accepted principles, techniques, and practices of governmental accounting, fund, accounting, auditing, and fiscal management.

• Accounting systems and data processing interrelationships.
• Applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulatory codes, ordinances, and procedures relevant to municipal financial operations.

Experience:

Four (4) years of experience performing standard accounting duties.

 

Education:

Education equivalent to a high school diploma and two (2) years of college coursework or training in accounting, business administration, public administration. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable.

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire.

Temporary Maintenance Worker – Parks & Roadsides 

Salary: $20.00/hour

 

DEFINITION 

Perform a variety of general maintenance services for parks and roadsides and other areas as assigned within the Town.   

 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule up to 29 hours per week, which may include weekend work; not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year. 
• The schedule for this position would be Monday-Thursday. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

General supervision is received from the Maintenance Supervisor. May exercise supervision of Work Alternative Program participants as assigned. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:  

• Clean up trash in and around Town-maintained park and roadside areas. 
• Operate a variety of equipment, including: half ton and three-quarter ton trucks, Cushman and golf cart (or similar) vehicles, blowers and other two-cycle equipment, and hand tools (i.e., shovel, rake, hoe, etc.). 
• Periodically groom sports fields and bocce ball courts with equipment and/or machinery provided. 
• Prepare baseball fields and bocce ball courts for league play. 
• Assist Maintenance Services personnel on assigned projects.  

• Perform duties within OSHA standards. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of: 

• Construction and maintenance materials, methods, and terminology. 

• The use, purposes and maintenance of hand tools; and the operation of light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment in performing duties.

PUBLIC SAFETY RESERVE DISPATCHER, Part-Time

 

 Starting at $24.68 per hour

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

To operate a computer aided dispatch (CAD) and radio system, receiving calls and dispatching public safety equipment and personnel, and maintaining public safety records and reports.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Serves as a relief Public Safety Dispatcher. The Reserve Dispatcher performs the routine tasks and duties assigned to Public Safety Dispatchers working on-call and subject to various shifts and workday assignments including nights, weekends and holidays.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives immediate supervision from sworn or other supervisory personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Receive emergency and non-emergency telephone calls from the public and other jurisdictions.

·         Dispatch police personnel and equipment in response to such calls; transfer fire and medical                communications to appropriate agencies.

·         Relay emergency and non-emergency information to public safety personnel in the field.

·         Relay information to other agencies as required; search and relay warrant information.

·         Monitor multiple radio frequencies; maintain status of public works units, as necessary.

EXAMINATION PROCESS 

Those applicants who meet the employment qualifications will be contacted via email regarding next steps in the recruitment process, a comprehensive multitasking test that assesses memory recall, map reading, spelling, sentence clarity, reading comprehension and data entry. Testing may be limited to the number of seats allowed in the testing center.  Those candidates who achieve a passing score on the multitasking test will be invited for a panel interview.  Successful candidates from the interview will be placed on an eligibility hiring list for hiring consideration.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Forestry Climber in the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity care for and maintain trees throughout the City. You'll climb trees of various heights using belts, lines, and similar equipment, and you will use a variety of hand and power tools to prune, trim, and shape street and park trees.

You'll also help keep our parks and streets safe by removing dead or broken branches, clearing street lights and overhead wires, and removing stumps and roots. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from a high school and one (1) year of skilled experience in tree climbing, topping, trimming and maintenance of a wide variety of very tall shade and park trees.

Other requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial (Class C) driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Must obtain and maintain a valid California Commercial (Class B) driver's license by the end of the probationary period and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Must be willing to work in tall trees and out of doors in all weather conditions. Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds and sufficient agility to perform job duties while working in tree tops or from ladders or hydraulic buckets.

The City of Patterson is recruiting for two (2) Firefighter EMT or Firefighter Paramedic positions.  This safety position will respond to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue, and other emergency calls to protect life and property.  This position will also participate in trainings, drills, study activities, and in the maintenance of the department apparatus, equipment, and facilities.  Under the supervision of the Fire Engineer or Fire Captain, provides first responder basic life support (EMT) or performs ALS (paramedic) care to patients of medical emergencies and other medical procedures. Performs other duties as required.
