The Extra Help Employee - Harmony House Coach position provides support, education, and advocacy to persons receiving services through the Mental Health Services Act. The Harmony House Coach may also provide a variety of services related to the operation of the Harmony House Drop-In Center and the Full Service Partnership Program. This position will provide welcoming and supportive activities, as well as perform tasks in support of facility operations at the center. The County of Yuba is currently establishing an eligibility list for the position of Victim Witness Advocate in the Probation Department. Under general supervision, assist victims and witnesses of crime by providing information, support, referral and advocacy services; monitor cases through the judicial system; conduct educational presentations regarding victim services; assist in completing victim compensation claims; and perform related work as assigned. This is the journey level in the victim witness advocate class series and is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment. Incumbents work initially under close supervision as they learn procedures and complex regulations and acquire the ability to apply the regulations. As experience is gained, an incumbent will work with more independence and carry an increasingly larger and/or more difficult caseload. 

Examples of Duties:

• Perform the delivery of supportive services to victims and witnesses, including crisis intervention, referrals to community service agencies, and follow-up services.
• Provide information regarding the criminal justice system, case status, restitution process and related information to victims and witnesses.  
• Interview victims of crime and/or their families to determine eligibility for Victims Program services; assist victims and their families with documentation necessary to file for compensation and restitution. 
• Make appropriate referrals to community agencies; refer clients to criminal justice agencies, public or private agencies to obtain supportive services; refer clients to professional counseling as needed; maintain contacts with other agencies regarding the status of individuals.
• Provide crisis intervention services such as immediate-needs referral for food, shelter, health care, clothing or protection.
• Arrange meetings with peace officers and attorneys; assist the Deputy District Attorney’s with interviews of victims and/or witnesses of a crime and provide an assessment of the victims’ reaction to crime, emotional state and ability and family dynamics.
• Maintain contact with victims and/or witnesses to coordinate court appearances; escort victims and/or witnesses to court; orient victims and/or witnesses for their participation in the criminal justice system; provide support during testimony at all phases of the trial process; obtain transportation services when needed; assist victims and their family during the court proceeding; keep victims and/or witnesses apprised of the status and disposition of cases; assist in the return of property to victims and/or witnesses.

The Essentials 

• Three years increasingly responsible building inspection experience supplemented by journey level construction trade experience. 
• Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade supplemented by college level courses in inspection methods, architecture, structural, or civil engineering.

What You'll Do
 

• Perform field inspections on various structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building systems at various stages of building construction, alteration, or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes. 
• Check building plans for compliance with applicable codes.
• Confer with and resolve code and inspection disputes between staff and builders, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and the public. 
• Respond to questions and concerns of assigned staff and/or the public; assist in coordinating inspection activities. 
• Collaborate on code violation cases with the Code Enforcement Division of the City Attorney’s Office.

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. This position provides support, mentoring, education, skill-building, advocacy, and youth-guided programming to persons receiving services at the Community Drop-In Youth TAY Center located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. The incumbent will work as part of Behavioral Health with the Transition Age Youth Team delivering outreach/engagement and supportive service to youth and families on school campuses, in the community, and/or at the TAY Center. The Deputy Director for Planning is a direct report to the Director of PBCE and provides leadership of all Planning functions within the Department. The position also contributes to the overall management of the Department through overseeing various interdivisional project teams. 
  

The Deputy Director for Planning is responsible for the stewardship and implementation of the City's General Plan and zoning policies, the review of applications for planning permits for consistency with the City’s ordinances and polices including California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and for engagement with customers, stakeholders and the community on proposed developments.  

The position is supported by three Division Managers and four Principal Planners who take responsibility for day-to-day operations and decision-making and are split between Development Review, CEQA, and Citywide Planning (longer term policy and plan development). The position manages an interdisciplinary team of planners and provides executive direction for specialized professional planning functions, including development review, land use, zoning, urban design, environmental review, historic preservation, housing, transportation, economic development, and data analytics. The position develops and oversees the organizational structure, the annual work program, and the budget and staffing of the Planning Division and assists in the preparation of the Department’s work program and budget.  
 

The Deputy Director of Planning frequently represents the Department and the Director at City Council, officiates public hearings on the Director’s behalf, and represents the Department and the Director at meetings with the public, elected officials, other departments/agencies and various stakeholders. The position includes attendance at evening meetings.  

Essential areas of responsibility include: 

• Oversee the department's planning budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources, cost recovery, as well as the development and oversight of the divisions fees and charges  

• Ensure all planning activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. 

• Develop and implement long-term city planning initiatives. 

• Facilitate public meetings and community outreach to gather input and inform the public about planning projects.

This Senior Management Analyst position for the workforce Development Program is a highly independent, technical training and development professional. The selected candidate is expected to exercise sound analytical judgment, inform critical decision-making, and provide high-quality training services to Valley Water employees at all levels-from new hires to executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of instructional design principles, including the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model or similar models and be familiar with tools commonly used by workforce development teams, such as Learning Management systems (LMs) and Performance Management platforms. Talent Acquisition & Career Pathways Unit (Position Code 496) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.
