The City of Redwood City, City Manager’s Office, invites you to apply for the position of Management Analyst II-Homelessness/Human Services.  In recent years, Redwood City has emerged as a leader in deploying innovative solutions to address homelessness in our local community. These efforts reflect the City’s broader commitment to human services and ensuring that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to housing, supportive services, and long-term pathways to stability. The position will also support the creation of the anti-camping ordinance. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join the team that is leading the City’s efforts on homelessness.  The Management Analyst will work closely with City leadership to design and implement strategies to address homelessness.

 

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Assistant City Manager or his/her designee with the financial oversight and analysis of the $3.5 million annual budget for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives.
• Comply with state, county, and private grant requirements including cost allocations and documentation of Homelessness Initiatives Program expenditures by contracted service providers, strengthening of reporting systems.
• Manage grants from inception through close out, ensuring that best practices are followed, and spend down is maximized.
• Create annual budgets and budgets for proposals, complete budget modifications, and monitor actual expenditures versus budget.
• Prepare grant invoices and financial reports.
• Prepare financial reports for the City’s Homelessness Initiatives.
• Monitor and track budget, revenue, and expenditures for Homelessness Initiatives within the City’s financial system and with City’s Finance Staff.
• Develop cost/benefit analysis of City’s Homelessness Initiatives investments in relationship to ongoing costs of mitigation.
• Draft staff reports and other written materials.

ABOUT THE POSITION

 

The Redwood City Public Library is looking for a community-centered, values-driven person who will deliver active and engaged customer service, with a focus on supporting self-service and delivering a top-notch experience for each visitor of the library. About the Department

The Community Development Department is responsible for planning the physical development of the community and ensuring that new development and modifications to existing development are completed in compliance with City and State laws. The Department provides technical information to residents, business owners, developers, and commissions regarding local codes, ordinances, and other related issues. The Planning Division reviews development plans, use permits, and other planning entitlements, and prepares land use plans focusing on the long-term growth and future development of the City.

 

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews development proposals;
• Advises property owners, architects, builders, attorneys, contractors, engineers, and the general public regarding City development policies and standards; 
• Reviews business license applications for compliance with zoning, sign, and related regulations;
• Writes and presents staff reports;
• Conducts research and prepares long-range planning documents and ordinances; and

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or closely related field, and one (1) year professional planning experience

 

Special Requirements

• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid California driver's license. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Field Monitors assist in the supervision and enforcement of rules, ordinances, and policies of City athletic fields, parks, and open spaces.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENT WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and unlevel or uneven and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties.   The position also requires both near and far vision; the need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 55 pounds or more is also required.  Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold.

The incumbent may be required to respond to after-hours emergency call-outs and perform routine standby duties.

The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position Camp Manager! In this role, you will plan, organize and administer a City Recreational Summer Camp including program operations, administration, facilities, and recreational programs for campers.

The Camp Manager works at the campsite while the Camp is open and is provided with room and board while at the camp. During non-camping season the Camp Manager performs planning, marketing, and staffing functions for the camp.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge and skills for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from a college or university with major course work in recreation, physical education, business or public administration or a closely related field; and either:

1. Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in recreation or camp programs, which has included at least two (2) years at a supervisory level. Additional recreation or camp experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two (2) years of the education requirement. OR
2. One year experience (or equivalent summer sessions) in a residence recreational summer camp at a level equivalent to the City’s Camp Staff Supervisor.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to travel to various locations within the City of Berkeley and to the camps to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, the incumbent is required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.

CPR and first aid certification required at start of the summer season. Ability to get class 1 or 2 water treatment and sewage treatment certifications may be required.

California Public Resources Code Section 5164 prohibits the hiring of a person for employment at a park or recreational facility in a position having supervisory or disciplinary authority over any minor if the person has been convicted of certain criminal offenses. California Education Code Section 10911.5 requires that all public recreation program employers must fingerprint all persons having direct contact with a minor. The City does not hire persons who have been convicted of felony drug, sexual assault or physical assault crimes.

ABOUT THE POSITION

 

Within the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department the LEAD LANDSCAPE GARDENER will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work and be involved in the development, maintenance and repairs of City parks, medians,  landscaped areas and athletic fields; assist in supervision of Landscape Gardeners and part-time personnel, and operate a wide variety of landscape maintenance equipment.

DEFINITION 

As a Building Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the Burlingame Community Center, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a hands-on individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.

 

Hours: (Average 10-20 hours per week). 

Shifts include:
Monday-Friday: 7:30am-12:30pm
Monday-Friday: 2:30pm-9:15pm
Saturday/Sunday: 7:30am-1:15pm
Saturday/Sunday: 12:45pm-5:30pm
As needed: Private rentals as late as 2:00am

Shifts depends on special events and rentals.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  (include but are not limited to the following)
Opens and closes the building, provides excellent customer service, and maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Performs regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows and mirrors, restocking and sanitizing restrooms, emptying trash and recycling, and wiping down surfaces. Assists with event and class setup and takedown of tables, chairs, and equipment, operates audiovisual equipment, and ensures renters follow facility policies, completing final walk-through reports as needed. Staffs the front desk to greet visitors, answer questions, answer phones, take messages, and process registrations and sales.

THE POSITION: This limited term position supports the Youth and Family Services Bureau (YFSB) in the Police Department to strengthen and enhance services provided to Hayward families to keep youth positively engaged in the community and out of the juvenile justice system. The Lead Program Assistant works with YSFB mental health counselors to provide case management, life skills training, diversion, restorative justice, and other services.
The limited term position is dependent on ongoing funding for the program. Funding has already been secured through FY2026 (June 30, 2026) with the possibility of an extension or permanent funding in FY 2027.

The Lead Program Assistant is a Citywide classification; current vacancies exist in the Police Department however future citywide vacancies may be filled from this recruitment. You are:

Paper applications can be obtained by visiting the Human Resources Department at Hayward City Hall located at 777 B Street, Hayward, CA 94541. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Apply prior to the closing time of the job announcement and allow at least one (1) hour to submit your application if you are a new user to the system.  Our on-line application system is provided by Government Jobs.
