The Associate Fiscal Analyst plays a key role in developing and implementing the annual budget for California’s 58 trial courts. Under general supervision, Public Works Technicians perform a variety of routine to journey level sub-professional technical, field, and office civil engineering work in a variety of technical areas.

The current vacant Public Works Technician I/II position is in the Road Operations - Permitting Section of the Road Services Division.

The Road Maintenance Division of County of San Mateo's Department of Public Works is responsible for routine and emergency repairs to over 315 miles of road surfaces, culverts, shoulders, drainage facilities, and roadside vegetation on roads within the public right-of-way of San Mateo County's unincorporated districts.

Public Works Technician I is the entry level class of this technical support series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn technical support and County procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This class is flexibly staffed with Public Works Technician II and incumbents are expected to advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualification of the higher-level class.

Public Works Technician II is the journey level class of this series, fully competent to independently perform a variety of responsible technical support duties. This class is distinguished from the Senior Engineering Aide class which is specialized in scope and technical functions.

• Familiarity and experience with permitting, plan review, or other technical clerical work

The City of San Bruno Fire Department offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a Fire Cadet. Our one-year Fire Cadet program is an unpaid, volunteer work experience program that offers hands-on training, and introductory knowledge of firefighting skills, fire service tools and equipment. Cadets respond to emergency calls, render Basic Life Support and participate in training, and participate in the daily station duties.

 

Cadets must be willing to commit to 24-hour shifts, two to four times per month. The cadet program is one year in length. Upon completion, this program meets the manipulative training and experience requirements in obtaining a California State Fire Marshal’s Office Firefighter II certification.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• State of California EMT or National Registry EMT certification
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record with minimal violations
• Possession of a Firefighter I Academy certification (or proof of “student in good standing” letter signed by an Academy Instructor if currently enrolled)

Key Responsibilities

San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Complex Care Program Manager. San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Social Work Supervisor - Aging & Disability Services (ADS) – Supportive Services. Social Work Supervisors plan, assign, review, and evaluate the work of a team of Social Workers, a Community Worker and Public Health Nurses. The Social Work Supervisor provides directions to staff on casework concepts, methods and procedures, provisions of services, and departmental policies and procedures under direction of a Health Services Manager.

The Social Work Supervisor position is located within ADS’ Supportive Services unit, which includes the Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Partners for Independence (PFI), and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) programs. In addition to overseeing operations and providing supervision to Social Workers in Supportive Services programs, the supervisor will assist with the on-going integration of California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal’s (CalAIM) ECM and Community Supports programs, working closely with the Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) – a Managed Care Plan for San Mateo County Medi-Cal recipients. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the supervisor will facilitate and refine care management and care coordination services to promote a seamless continuum of care within a whole-person centered care model.

The ECM and PFI program serve adult clients who need assistance managing complex medical and psychosocial needs, linking to community resources, and coordinating in-home care to safely remain in the community. The team conducts home and other field visits to assess clients’ psychosocial and safety needs engaging clients in the creation of appropriate case planning, care coordination and management goals.

This full-time position follows a Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm schedule, working in both South San Francisco and San Mateo offices. It is anticipated that the position will primarily work in the office during the probationary period, but include hybrid work accordingly. Office requirements include four on-site workdays to align with operational needs and County requirements.

San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Community Program Analyst II - Aging & Disability Services.

The Community Program Analyst II position within the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Unit, a community-based service for older adults and people living with disabilities, within the Aging and Disability Services (ADS) Division. The position performs a variety of technical tasks related to monitoring, policy interpretation, policy development, and development of training materials for the IHSS program. Much of the work includes compiling and analyzing data, collaborating with staff and clients/families to ensure a service delivery system that is responsive to the needs of older adults and people with disabilities. Individuals should have knowledge of issues regarding aging, disabilities, functional/cognitive/mental limitations and experience in QA within a large, regulation driven service delivery system.

The Community Program Analyst will conduct QA case documentation reviews, home visits, and consultation as detailed by the California Department of Social Services (State). The analyst will provide technical guidance and education on program regulations and county operations and produce monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for Aging and Disability Services management/executives and State QA/Program Integrity. In addition, the analyst will serve as liaison among social workers, Public Authority and IHSS clients/providers to resolve disputes. The role also includes leading investigations and collaboration with the California Department of Health Care Services on suspected program misuse and oversight of all required QA monitoring work of the unit.

Community Program Analysts provide technical assistance and evaluate program functions to support effective community and client service delivery. They serve as County liaisons with contract service providers, and community-based organizations, ensure compliance with program regulations and procedures and monitor contracts related to assigned programs. Analysts may also perform other work-related duties as required.

The current vacancy is in the ADS Division located in San Mateo, CA, but may move to the South San Francisco office if needed. The position will travel throughout the County to perform the duties of this position. Travel to meetings and training courses located in Sacramento and other counties is also required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Fluency in Spanish, Russian, Tagalog, Mandarin, or Cantonese (preferred but not required).

Probation Services Manager I (PSM) will supervise Deputy Probation Officers, other division staff and its programs; train, evaluate and counsel assigned personnel; participate in departmental management teams; assist in the development, implementation and interpretation of line administrative policies and procedures; establish effective working relationships with staff, other law enforcement and social services agencies, community organizations and the public; handle multiple tasks with frequently changing priorities; respond creatively to personnel and budgetary constraints; evaluate and report on individual staff development and performance; and prepare complex analytical and statistical reports.

• Consult with professionals in the fields of criminal justice, medicine, and mental health care.
• Evaluate and report on the performance of individual staff development.
• Participate in community education activities, supervise departmental training activities.

• Interpret and make presentations to agencies, community organizations, and private citizens on crime and delinquency problems, methods of rehabilitation, and objectives of the courts and the department.

The Administrative Assistant will perform general clerical work and assist with the Construction Division administrative tasks.

 

This is a supportive role in the construction division with high use of various computer software, research, problem solving and communication skills for a person at an intermediate level. The work performed will support MRCA’s new construction operations, emergency projects, general improvements to parks, and other efforts related to public access, open space conservation, habitat restoration, and urban park development.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, at-will position.

Supervision

This position reports to the Chief of Construction. Assorted tasks may be supervised by other division staff. The position supervises no other staff and generally works independently but in frequent communication with coworkers and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of
the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from
those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Coordinate material orders, delivery and invoices. 
• Maintain division files, including documentation of and authorization for expenses, project progress, contracts, project budgets, contracts, and correspondence. 
• Order materials, equipment, and tools. 
• Coordinate deliver/pick up of materials, equipment and tools. 
• Prepare written materials (reports, graphs, memos, etc.) for the Construction Division. 
• Conduct tailgate safety meetings biweekly with construction team. 
• Research contractors for various trades for estimates of repair and notice inviting bids. 
• Perform related duties as required. 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, occasionally move about inside the office to access supplies and office machinery, frequently communicate and exchange information, review handwritten, electronic and facsimile documents, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The employee must occasionally move items weighing up to 20 pounds inside the office. MRCA offices are spread among multiple buildings and floors and may require traveling up/down steps.

Required Hours and Location

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime work in evenings or weekends upon prior approval by supervisor. The position will work out of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens but may be required to travel to various other locations as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience 

• High School Diploma or GED certificate. A.A. degree preferred. 
• Two (2) years of experience in construction field preferred.  

 

Training and Certification

• Basic First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to complete within 6 months).

Knowledge of: 

• Proficiency with Windows based programs, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. 
• Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and basic mathematics. 
• Office practices and procedures. 
• Bilingual skills in English and another locally common language, such as Spanish, Korean, Farsi, Chinese, Armenian, Yiddish, or Tagalog is desired.

Wages:

The range of hourly rates for an Administrative Assistant I is $21.20 - 28.41.
