The City of Sebastopol is looking for a respectful, compassionate, empathetic Police Officer Trainee. The selected candidate must be currently enrolled or enrolled at a future date as a self-sponsored recruit in a certified Peace Officer Standards & Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Police Academy. The Police Officer Trainee is a non-sworn, training-level classification requiring no prior law enforcement experience. The incumbent performs a variety of entry-level police support duties in a learning capacity. The selected candidate will assist and observe Police Officers and civilian police personnel.

The successful candidate will attend the Police Academy to obtain a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate of Completion, and perform related work which may require public contact but not the enforcement of laws. Police Officer Trainees attend a POST certified Police Academy, which follows a standardized curriculum in order to provide them with basic training in various aspects of policing, many of which are prescribed by law and/or statute.

The Police Academy training is designed to provide the candidate the necessary skillsets to prepare them for consideration for promotion to a probationary Police Officer position within the City and begin the Sebastopol Police Department’s Field Training Officer program. Attendance and successful completion of a Police Academy is a legal requirement to be hired as a Police Officer within the State of California and is a requirement for a City of Sebastopol Police Officer Trainee to be considered for promotion to probationary Police Officer with the City of Sebastopol.

The selected self-sponsored academy candidates will receive a conditional offer upon a qualified application and full hourly pay while attending the police academy.

Information Technology Systems Administrator (Police Department)

Salary: $62.6986 - $80.5981 per hour

The Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department depends on reliable technology for public safety, investigations, communications, and record-keeping. As the Information Technology Systems Administrator, your work will directly contribute to the safety of our residents and the efficiency of our public services by making sure all systems are stable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices, state and federal data security requirements, and Town policies. You will serve as the cloud security officer for the Police Department and help maintain the Town’s IT infrastructure and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as needed.

The Department

The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The Parks and Recreation Department is composed of a Director and 22 full-time management positions. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Community Services, Parks, Facilities and Common Greens divisions.

The Parks Division is in charge of planning and maintaining the city’s parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and other landscaping. There are approximately 25 parks and play lots, including Sign Hill Park, which has 60 acres of open space, and Centennial Way Linear Park, a 3-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail. Amenities include Centennial Dog Park, bocce ball courts, an above-ground skate park, a variety of ball fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters and group picnic areas.

The ideal part-time Park Maintenance Worker will be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks while working cooperatively with a variety of people, consistently ensuring excellent customer service. Capable of organizing duties, meeting critical deadlines, and following up on assignments with minimal supervision to maintain parks and public facilities according to established standards. • Maintains all types of landscaped areas through mowing, watering, planting, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing.
• Applies insecticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
• Operates trucks, tractors, mowers, chippers, and related grounds and tree maintenance equipment.
• Cleans and perform minor repairs to park and recreation equipment, buildings, and related facilities; maintains and prepares athletic fields.
• Assists in the maintenance of sprinkler systems; assists in the maintenance and minor repair of power-driven equipment.

• Assists in the general cleaning and maintenance of the Corporation Yard.
• Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience: One year of experience in parks and landscape maintenance work is preferred. 

Training: Equivalent to graduation from high school.

Licenses/Certificates: All licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment.

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Associate Fiscal Analyst for the Budget Services office.   

The Associate Fiscal Analyst plays a key role in developing and implementing the annual budget for California’s 58 trial courts. Responsibilities include: (1) gathering, verifying, and compiling court data to support budget creation, (2) processing payments for trial court reimbursement programs, and (3) preparing monthly distribution templates in the FI$Cal system to allocate operational funding. The Department of Public Works is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Technician I/II. Under general supervision, Public Works Technicians perform a variety of routine to journey level sub-professional technical, field, and office civil engineering work in a variety of technical areas.

The current vacant Public Works Technician I/II position is in the Road Operations - Permitting Section of the Road Services Division.

The Road Maintenance Division of County of San Mateo's Department of Public Works is responsible for routine and emergency repairs to over 315 miles of road surfaces, culverts, shoulders, drainage facilities, and roadside vegetation on roads within the public right-of-way of San Mateo County's unincorporated districts.

Public Works Technician I is the entry level class of this technical support series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn technical support and County procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This class is flexibly staffed with Public Works Technician II and incumbents are expected to advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualification of the higher-level class.

Public Works Technician II is the journey level class of this series, fully competent to independently perform a variety of responsible technical support duties. This class is distinguished from the Senior Engineering Aide class which is specialized in scope and technical functions.

The ideal candidate for this position has the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Familiarity and experience with permitting, plan review, or other technical clerical work

The City of San Bruno Fire Department offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a Fire Cadet. Our one-year Fire Cadet program is an unpaid, volunteer work experience program that offers hands-on training, and introductory knowledge of firefighting skills, fire service tools and equipment. Cadets respond to emergency calls, render Basic Life Support and participate in training, and participate in the daily station duties.

Cadets must be willing to commit to 24-hour shifts, two to four times per month. The cadet program is one year in length. Upon completion, this program meets the manipulative training and experience requirements in obtaining a California State Fire Marshal’s Office Firefighter II certification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• State of California EMT or National Registry EMT certification
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record with minimal violations
• Possession of a Firefighter I Academy certification (or proof of “student in good standing” letter signed by an Academy Instructor if currently enrolled)

Reporting to the Division Manager, the Senior Library Page is responsible for a variety of routine but essential library tasks. 

Key duties include:

• Checking in and shelving library materials,

• Mending and processing new or damaged items,

• Sorting and shifting collections,

• Shelf-reading, and maintaining organized and inviting displays,

• Locating materials for patron holds,

• Duplicating and weeding lists, and 

• Accurately updating item records in the Library’s Integrated Library System (ILS).

In addition to core responsibilities, this position helps train new Library Pages and serves as a mentor to part-time Page staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. The Senior Library Page also assists library staff with special projects and events, and provides customer service support at the public desk as needed.

This role requires demanding physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Social Work Supervisor - Aging & Disability Services (ADS) – Supportive Services. Social Work Supervisors plan, assign, review, and evaluate the work of a team of Social Workers, a Community Worker and Public Health Nurses. The Social Work Supervisor provides directions to staff on casework concepts, methods and procedures, provisions of services, and departmental policies and procedures under direction of a Health Services Manager.

The Social Work Supervisor position is located within ADS’ Supportive Services unit, which includes the Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Partners for Independence (PFI), and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) programs. In addition to overseeing operations and providing supervision to Social Workers in Supportive Services programs, the supervisor will assist with the on-going integration of California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal’s (CalAIM) ECM and Community Supports programs, working closely with the Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) – a Managed Care Plan for San Mateo County Medi-Cal recipients. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the supervisor will facilitate and refine care management and care coordination services to promote a seamless continuum of care within a whole-person centered care model.

The ECM and PFI program serve adult clients who need assistance managing complex medical and psychosocial needs, linking to community resources, and coordinating in-home care to safely remain in the community. The team conducts home and other field visits to assess clients’ psychosocial and safety needs engaging clients in the creation of appropriate case planning, care coordination and management goals.

This full-time position follows a Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm schedule, working in both South San Francisco and San Mateo offices. It is anticipated that the position will primarily work in the office during the probationary period, but include hybrid work accordingly. Office requirements include four on-site workdays to align with operational needs and County requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Strong leadership skills to direct the work of and motivate a team of Social Workers, Public Health Nurses and Community Workers.
• Familiarity with the laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing the operation of public social services agencies and the variety of service programs.

The Supportive Services Social Work Supervisor’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Providing support and supervision to a team of Social Workers, Public Health Nurses, Community Worker, and/or office staff.
• Reviewing and approving health and psychosocial risk assessments, care plans, and other clinical assessments.
• Coordinating, overseeing, and participating in Interdisciplinary Care Team meetings.
• Overseeing the process for care coordination related expenses.
• Troubleshooting issues with the Q Continuum System, HPSM MedHOK database system and the State IHSS CMIPS II database system.
• Establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with peers and colleagues from IHSS and other managed long-term services and supports programs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is

• Two (2) years of experience performing a full range of professional social worker duties, and at least six (6) months of lead experience; or
• A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work that included an internship, AND one (1) additional year of experience performing a full range of professional social worker duties.
