The Position: 

SVP is seeking Journey Line workers that have the ability to perform routine and emergency work maintaining and expanding SVP’s electric transmission and distribution system, including but not limited to: 
- Perform electrical installation and repair work and to construct and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission system; 
- Think and act appropriately and quickly in emergencies; 
- Maintain good public relations; 
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; 
- Work from electrical plans and detailed drawings; 
- Input data using computer programs for documenting electric facility maintenance and inspection findings; 
- Effectively train and supervise others; 
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions; 
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work, including the general public; 
- Walk or stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as necessary to perform assigned duties;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION

- Possession of a valid California Class A Driver's license is required, or

- Possession of a valid California Class C license at the time of appointment and the ability to obtain a California Class A license within six months of employment

- Incumbents in this position are required to become rubber glove certified as a condition of holding the classification of Journey Lineworker within nine (9) months of appointment.

The successful candidate is detail-oriented and can also pivot to a broader perspective; has a proven ability to build positive and productive relationships; possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and provides excellent customer service.  Flexibility and the capacity to comfortably adapt to and manage change in an evolving workplace are a must.  General Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is required.

The Management Analyst I under supervision, performs most of the duties required of the position but is not expected to function at the same skill level required of a level II.

The Foster City Police Department is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled individual to join our team as an Police Dispatcher. Selection Process

Typical Qualifying Experience:

Essential Knowledge:

Application/Examination

Open to All Candidates. This is an open recruitment welcoming external applicants. Current County of San Mateo and Superior Court employees with at least six months (1,040 hours) of continuous service will receive a five-point bonus on their final examination score. Responses to the supplemental questions are mandatory and must be submitted in addition to our regular employment application form. A resume will not be accepted as a substitute for the required employment application and supplemental questionnaire.

Selection Process: The examination process will consist of two parts: an application screening (weight: pass/fail) based on each candidate's application materials, and a panel interview (weight: 100%) for those applicants who pass the application screening. Due to competitive interest, we may use application screening or select candidates whose qualifications best match our needs based solely on application materials. 
   
Because of the screening process, all applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
