THE POSITION

To perform responsible clerical work and administrative duties involved with billing and collection of business registrations; the maintenance and review of licensing and permitting records; the entry of data processing; and/or assisting in the review and input of building permit applications, cannabis permits, and mobile food vendor permits.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a temporary/part-time position to work in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.   

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate is customer focused, able to communicate well both orally and in writing, and can prioritize multiple tasks with little direction. The Ideal Candidate must have basic Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, as well as the ability to quickly learn public sector software platforms that encompass multiple modules including cashiering, business licensing, and permitting. Fluency in the Spanish language is highly desirable.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process business registrations.  Collect payments over the counter and through the mail.  Balance cash drawer and reconcile end of day receipts.  Set-up and maintain customers on a computer system.  Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports as assigned.  Input purchase requisitions into computer system.  Enter and verify invoices for payment. Respond to routine permitting inquiries and provide customer service to the public at the permit counter, and/or via telephone, email, or fax.  Research and communicate the status of permits for applicants. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and direction to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to the experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical manner to achieve the knowledge and abilities would be:

The Project Manager I (PM1) is responsible for the surface level integration of the new CBTC system with SFMTA’s existing traffic signal infrastructure.  The work will include systems engineering to integrate various pieces of infrastructure to ensure compatible functionality (e.g. CBTC can communicate with traffic signal controller software and output the desired signal outcomes). The PM1 should possess expertise in traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including but not limited to: signal timing parameters, traffic signal design, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), network communication protocols and devices, as well as familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the systems engineering architecture and standards established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).  The candidate must also have prior experience overseeing the integration of ITS devices, such as TSP and emergency vehicle preemption, with the D4 traffic signal controller software.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Oversee internal staff and consultants to develop protocols and procedures to integrate CBTC technology with existing traffic signal infrastructure
• Develop calculations for traffic signal timing card changes to reduce transit travel times and improve transit reliability

How to qualify

1. Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering or planning plus four years of responsible architectural, engineering or construction management experience, OR

4. California registration as professional engineer or architect.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Join San Bruno Community Services, Parks Department as a Lead Maintenance Worker! 

 

The Community Services Department is committed to providing quality programs, services, and spaces to benefit the health and well-being of the community. Within Community Services, the Parks Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance of all City’s outdoor recreation sites, including 20 parks covering 68 acres, 6 baseball fields, 128 acres of open space, all City owned facilities, over 7 miles of medians, and one dog park. 
 

Under the supervision of the Parks Field Supervisor, the Parks Lead Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled tasks and complex assignments in maintenance, repair, and construction work. The Lead Maintenance Worker is a working supervisor position. The position exercises direct supervision over crews engaged in service, maintenance, and repair. Work assignments may also involve considerable skill in various construction and mechanical crafts and the operation of heavy construction and maintenance equipment. 

 

CORE DUTIES

Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Assigns and reviews work of Maintenance Workers I/II and seasonal staff; trains, supervises, and reviews work of assigned staff; provides input into performance evaluations and performance issues.

• Inspects and repairs equipment at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the systems are safe and functioning properly; maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, materials supply, athletic field layouts and surfaces, base positioning and installation, and layouts of field markings.

• Determines and marks the locations of irrigation system wiring and water lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.

• Responds to complaints and resolves problems regarding functional areas such as tree conditions, ball field conditions irrigation system problems, park, building and ball field lighting, water leaks, parks facility issues.

• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools assigned to their area of responsibility by checking equipment and tools and maintaining maintenance records, and refers defects to supervisory staff.

• Safely operates vehicles/equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, soil and sand, concrete, performance of tree work; and other job functions; operates pneumatic tools and power tools.

• Oversees and participates in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including laying pipe, trenching and backfilling, determines safety and playability of sports fields and reports information to their supervisor, prunes trees and shrubs in conformance with established professional practices and safe working methods.

• Applies pesticides and utilizes best Integrated Pest Management practices for assigned areas of responsibility.

• Performs set up of traffic safety work zones utilizing traffic safety control devices as needed for work performed in areas such as medians, right-of ways, streets, and parks.

• Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the best qualified candidates. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a high school diploma or GED, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing field maintenance work similar to that of a Maintenance Worker II with the City of San Bruno. 

 

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license. 

• Possession of a Qualified Pesticide Applicators Certificate.

As a government body charged with improving the statewide administration of justice, the Judicial Council has multiple offices with diverse responsibilities relating to court policy and operations. The Judicial Council offers hybrid work arrangements for many positions. The successful candidate will be expected to work in-person at the Judicial Council’s Sacramento office at least two days a week, based on their office leader’s direction, and reside in the areas surrounding these locations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as lead staff and provide high-level professional support to the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee, its subcommittees, and working groups. This is one of the most active advisory bodies to the Judicial Council that represents trial court funding priorities and policies. This role involves strategic planning, policy compliance, stakeholder engagement, and administrative coordination to ensure the committee’s operations align with Judicial Council governance standards. 
• Manage the annual submission cycle, analyze funding requests from trial courts, and coordinate the Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts program to ensure compliance, transparency, and effective fiscal oversight. 
• Provide high-level professional support in a backup capacity to the Senior Fiscal Analyst position that oversees the trial court budget allocations of $3 billion annually and the Workload Formula policy. This role collaborates extensively with Judicial Council leadership and trial court representatives to ensure effective governance of trial court funding and policy execution. 
• Provide advanced-level analytical and budgetary support to the Court Interpreter Program. This includes technical assistance to the Language Access Program for annual court interpreter allocations to the trial courts, implementation of budget proposals, and review of reports to the Legislature and other documents. 
• Provide support for the development and implementation of the annual trial court budget. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support trial court operations, ensure fiscal integrity, and support the goals of the Judicial Council. 
• Document and maintain detailed records of operational processes, procedures, and related backup information to ensure clarity and consistency for key budgetary processes that support the trial courts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field, and four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgetary, or contract administration/procurement. 

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field such as accounting, finance, business, etc., may be substituted for one (1) of the years of required experience. An additional four (4) years of professional experience in the assigned function as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. 

OR

Juris doctor, Master of Business Administration, or master’s degree in a directly related field for the assigned discipline such as finance, contract administration or accountancy, and one year of experience as identified above. 

OR 

One (1) year as a Fiscal Analyst in the assigned field with the Judicial Council of California or one (1) year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Fiscal Analyst in a California superior court or California state-level government entity. 

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of California’s state budget process and governmental budgeting practices.
• Strong political acumen and understanding of governmental laws, rules, and policies.
• Experience implementing budgetary policies within government frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerBI.
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to research, analyze, and summarize financial and policy information for diverse audiences.
• Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working independently to achieve organizational goals.

$7,941.00 - $11,912.00 per month

Please note due to statewide fiscal conditions, the posted salary range is subject to a temporary 3% reduction. In exchange for this reduction, judicial branch employees accrue an additional 5 hours of paid personal leave per month through June 30, 2027.

Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.

This part-time, per diem role is responsible for inspecting properties to ensure compliance with wildfire prevention and fuel mitigation requirements. You'll engage with residents, educate the public, and help reduce wildfire risk across the District.
