Deputy Director of Environmental Services Water Distribution/Sewer Collection

The City of Sunnyvale is currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of Environmental Services – Water Distribution/Sewer Collection to join the Environmental Services Department. The Deputy Director of Environmental Services – Water Distribution/Sewer Collection leads a team of 46 staff and is  responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the City’s potable and recycled water distribution and sanitary and storm sewer collection systems; ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations; preparing and administering the division’s operating and capital improvement budgets; overseeing asset management and long-term infrastructure planning; coordinating with regional agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders; and fostering a safe, customer-focused, and high-performing team culture.

Part-Time – Multiple Positions Available (10 to 20 Hours per Week)

The City of San Bruno Recreation and Aquatic Center is hiring for Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers, with a particular focus on strength and conditioning. Position Summary
Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers play a key role in supporting clients’ health and fitness goals by:

• Leading group strength and conditioning classes and personal training sessions.
• Designing safe and effective individualized fitness programs.
• Monitoring client progress, ensuring proper form, and providing feedback.
• Creating a motivating, positive environment for participants.
• Delivering excellent customer service and addressing fitness-related inquiries.
• Ensuring the fitness facility is safe, clean, and fully operational.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Current certification in personal training or group fitness instruction (e.g., ACE, NASM, or other recognized certification).
• At least one year of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, or related field preferred.
• Experience in strength and conditioning, group instruction, and one-on-one training is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques, fitness principles, and wellness practices.
• Ability to motivate and instruct individuals and groups effectively.
• Strong communication skills for clear instruction and positive feedback.
• Skill in assessing client needs and designing individualized programs.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain fitness equipment.

Special Requirements: 

• Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 

• Fitness certifications (e.g., Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor) from a nationally recognized organization.

Fire Prevention/Administration Office Assistant

• Provide excellent customer service for the Fire Prevention and Fire Administration divisions by greeting visitors, answering inquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate staff or resources
• Manage calendars for multiple inspectors, schedule inspections, and charge appropriate fees
• Process special event permit applications, prepare invoices for permit fees, collect fees, and issue permits
• Assist with accounts payables and receivables, including invoicing, payment collection, and reconciliation for Fire Prevention activities
• Provide information and assistance regarding public education to the general public
• Assist with website updates related to Fire Prevention services
• Update and maintain a variety of Fire Prevention forms and documents

• Provide front-desk customer service by greeting visitors, answering inquiries and directing individuals to the appropriate staff or resources
• Perform a variety of general clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, processing mail, ordering supplies, scanning, and answering a multi-line telephone system
• Enter invoices for payment and data/information for reports, including setting up new vendors, reviewing statements
• Assist with accounts receivables related to shop billing and vendor transactions
• Update and maintain shop-related forms and documentation, assist with maintaining inventories of station supplies, and parts for apparatus repairs
• Receive supplies, check for condition and discrepancies, arrange for efficient and safe storage of stock, materials, and equipment

Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.

This part-time, per diem role is responsible for inspecting properties to ensure compliance with wildfire prevention and fuel mitigation requirements. You'll engage with residents, educate the public, and help reduce wildfire risk across the District.
