Under the supervision and general direction of the District Engineer, this student engineering position  performs a variety of basic technical civil engineering duties such as mapping, data entry, review of residential and commercial developments, and supporting capital projects. Responsibilities include assisting the Associate Engineer with project management, plan review, fee calculations, permit issuance, maintaining engineering records, conducting field surveys, site inspections, and data analysis. Responsibilities also include assisting the Engineering Technician in GIS and AutoCAD related projects as needed.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Engineering Intern is a part-time hourly/non-exempt position that performs varied tasks and assists the Engineering Team with applied research, inspections, and administrative support functions as part of the learning experience in conjunction with educational coursework leading to an advanced degree in Engineering.

Examples of Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs general GIS/AutoCAD map updates and modifications including the collection of GPS data points.
• Performs supervised plan checks on new development, capital projects, remodels, and tenant improvements for compliance with State laws and Regulations and modern construction techniques.
• Confers with property owners and contractors to explain requirements and to induce compliance to Regulations.
• Maintains electronic and paper records of changes of plans and specifications, manages the data necessary for establishing sewer connection permits and changes and maintains related records.

The City of Half Moon Bay Community Development Department invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Planner.  The Department is seeking an attentive and well-qualified Senior Planner Supervisor to join the Planning Division. The Senior Planner reviews and manages complex development projects through the entitlement process, oversees professional planning assignments, manages long-range planning studies, and incorporates meaningful community engagement into planning initiatives. At any given time, the Senior Planner may be interpreting zoning regulations, managing consultant work, preparing detailed project analyses, or advising the public on planning matters.

The Position

The Town of Los Altos Hills is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Planner to serve as a key leader within the Community Development Department. Reporting to the Community Development Director, the Principal Planner will assist in the management and administration of planning operations, provide leadership and technical guidance to planning staff, coordinate consultant resources, and oversee the Town's most complex current and long-range planning initiatives.

This position is intended to strengthen the Town's planning capacity by providing senior-level expertise and project management support across a broad range of planning activities. The Principal Planner will play a critical role in advancing major policy initiatives, implementing state-mandated planning programs, managing complex development projects, and ensuring the Department remains responsive to the needs of residents, elected officials, and stakeholders.

The Principal Planner serves as a strategic partner to the Community Development Director and works closely with planning staff, consultants, the Planning Commission, City Council, advisory committees, outside agencies, and community stakeholders to advance the Town's priorities and maintain compliance with evolving State planning requirements.

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, city planning, environmental planning, public administration, architecture, geography, or a closely related field.

Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible professional planning experience, including substantial experience managing complex planning projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and leading policy development and implementation efforts.

Experience in both current planning and long-range planning is highly desirable.

A master's degree in urban planning, public administration, environmental planning, or a related field is desirable.

Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred. Candidates without AICP certification must demonstrate equivalent senior-level professional planning experience and expertise.

Demonstrated experience with Housing Element implementation, General Plan updates, Safety Element planning, wildfire resilience, climate adaptation, zoning administration, CEQA compliance, consultant management, and public engagement processes is highly desirable.

Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical leadership to professional planning staff is desirable.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provide recreational and educational instruction and activities, social development, guidance and care for preschool and elementary age children by leading and assisting in the selection and coordination of a variety of activities and curriculum at a childcare site.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Child Care Lead Teacher is the lead teacher in the classroom.  Child Care Lead Teachers may also be asked to temporarily oversee a school site when a Site Coordinator is offsite.  If a situation arises where a Site Supervisor is unavailable for an extended period of time a Child Care Lead Teacher with a Site Supervisor Permit will be asked to act as a temporary Site Supervisor.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

General supervision is provided by the Child Care Site Coordinator. Child Care Lead Teacher  supervises the classrooms to which they are assigned, including Child Care Aides, Associate Teachers, Teachers, and Full-time Teachers that are assigned to their programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Assist in the development of a diversified program of recreational games, sports, arts, crafts, and other activities for elementary school children.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City, Engineering and Transportation Department announces an opportunity for the position of SUPERVISING CIVIL ENGINEER.  The Supervising Civil Engineer works under general direction of the Engineering and Transportation Director/City Engineer.  This position is responsible for planning and overseeing the work of the Capital Improvement Program (utilities, parks/special projects for building facilities, and creek/channel/levee improvements) and inspection services and supervising and participating in design, construction, and support services.  In addition, the Supervising Civil Engineer provides technical staff assistance in the review of agreements and other engineering functions.  The Supervising Civil Engineer may be required to fulfill the duties of the City Engineer, in the City Engineer’s absence.
