If you are interested in working in a fast-paced, highly valued position, supporting a municipal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite of systems, the City of Sunnyvale is looking to hire an Applications Analyst/Project Coordinator I. The Information Technology Department will fill the position at the Applications Analyst/Project Coordinator I or II level to select the best applicant.  This position requires a service-oriented focus, willingness to learn to support and enhance our Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM applications, along with primary and secondary support roles for multiple enterprise systems including system configuration, reporting and interfaces, day-to-day operational issues, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call rotations.

 

The ideal candidate for an Applications Analyst I will have some experience with supporting Financial or Human Capital Management (HCM/HR) systems, preferably an integrated ERP/HCM suite, and ideally Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. This position will provide experience supporting Oracle Cloud ERP & HCM modules including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable, Project Portfolio Management, Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Time and Labor, Payroll and Learning Management. Candidates must be detail-oriented, fanatical about documentation, possess strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with end users, and understand that there are variety of complexities involved in system configuration, integration, interfaces, and report development.  The ideal candidate for an Applications Analyst I will have knowledge and some experience in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

 

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in one of the following ways:

• A Technology Certificate from an accredited college, university, or trade school in information technology, computer applications, web technologies, computer information systems, application development, database design, programming, technology project management or closely related field AND two years of experience in any one of the focus areas; OR
• An Associate’s degree or completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units at an accredited college or university in business information systems, computer science, information technology, software information systems or closely related field AND one year of experience in any one of the focus areas; OR
• A Bachelor’s degree or completion of 120 semester or 180 quarter units from an accredited college or university with concentration in computer science, information technology, engineering, informatics, web science, business information systems or closely related field; OR
• At least one of the following certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Professional in Business Analysis (PMI#2;PBA), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certification in Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), SQL Certification or Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) certificate; AND two years of experience in any one of the focus areas

The mission of the San Jose Police Department is to create safe places to live, work and learn through community partnerships. 

Position Duties

 

The City of San Jose is recruiting for a part-time School Crossing Guards in the Police Department during the normal school year.  Work involves providing for the safe conduct of elementary and junior high school children across heavily traveled streets and reporting problems requiring possible police action. Positions may involve substituting at different corners or a regular location assignment.  In general, these assignments are a split shift with approximately ten (10) hours per week.  School Crossing Guards are required to work outside regardless of weather conditions and must be able to provide a uniform as specified by the Police Department.   Work includes outside duties and exposure to weather.  Work may include the physical ability to sit, stand, walk quickly, step up/down from the curb, reach, push and/or pull, twist and or rotate, bend, lift and carry up to 10 pounds, use hands hold and use a stop sign the entire shift, use other hand to stop traffic and use a whistle at the same.

Under general supervision, the Light Rail Power Supervisor supervises and coordinates the overhead power and substation maintenance and repair of the light rail system.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the first full supervisory level in the maintenance and repair of electric power systems for light rail, including overhead and substations. The next higher class of Light Rail Way, Power and Signal Superintendent manages the overall activities of the program and supervises this class.

About Way, Power & Signal Maintenance
Way, Power & Signal Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of the light rail right-of-way, rail system power, tracks, signals, station facilities and related equipment. Components of the Way, Power & Signal unit are:
 

• Station & Wayside Maintenance: Station & Wayside Maintenance maintains and repairs (including graffiti removal) light rail stations, terminal buildings, restrooms, park & ride lots, landscaping, fences, guardrails, and other trackside areas.

• Track Maintenance: Track Maintenance maintains (including right-of-way weed eradication, vegetation control, and graffiti removal), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, services and repairs rail, switches, ties, roadbed, and track systems.

• Power Maintenance: Power Maintenance maintains (including trackside right-of-way tree trimming), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services light rail electric power systems, including overhead, substations, lighting, and other electrical systems.

• Signal Maintenance: Signal Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services signal systems, crossing gates, fare machines, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) controls, and station audio/video equipment.

• Passenger Facilities Maintenance: Passenger Facilities Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services all VTA-maintained passenger facilities, including bus stops. Services include: bench installation, painting and repair, core drilling for poles at new bus stops, garbage collection, trash receptacle installation and relocation, graffiti abatement, litter removal, pressure washing, red curb painting, signage inspection, route updates, and sweeping services. Janitorial services for transit centers are provided daily through a Facilities Maintenance service contract with a third-party vendor. Guadalupe

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills and abilities is typically obtained through the equivalent of six (6) years of experience in electrical/electronic maintenance, including one (1) year in an electrified rail or high voltage power supervisory position AND the equivalent of completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for electricians.

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class B license.

Definition
Under general supervision, the Electro-Mechanic performs skilled electrical/electronic and mechanical work to diagnose, maintain, repair, rebuild, overhaul, service, inspect, and test light rail transit vehicles and equipment.

About the Light Rail Maintenance Department

Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Maintenance is located at the Guadalupe Light Rail Division. LRV Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of light rail vehicles and service equipment.

After a light rail vehicle returns from revenue service at the end of each day, Maintenance performs an interior inspection/walk-through of the vehicle, analyzes the Operator Defect Card, performs a visual inspection of the vehicle undercarriage, performs exterior and interior cleaning, cleans and repairs windows and seating, and removes and repairs graffiti and vandalism.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and four years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrically powered rail transit vehicles.

OR

Training and experience equivalent to completion of a two-year degree in electronic technology and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of electro-mechanical systems similar to those found in VTA light rail vehicles.

OR

Demonstrated experience and training equivalent to a high school diploma and four years of experience in a maintenance environment working on systems similar to those found in a light rail vehicle including air conditioning, DC motors, generators, circuit diagrams, lighting and electrical troubleshooting.

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class B license with passenger (P) endorsement and a maintenance LRV operation certification.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and odd and unusual hours.

Under general supervision, the Swim Instructor’s Aide assists in teaching swim lessons to persons of all ages. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Mandatory pre-season in-service training sessions will be held in June.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in developing lesson plans for aquatic activities and helps maintain pool records, including program registrations and safety reports. Provides First Aid and CPR when necessary and aids in teaching swimming lessons to participants of all ages. Follows city policies and procedures and performs other assigned duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Age Requirement:                                         

• At least 14 years of age

Experience:

• No prior experience necessary.
• Recommended exposure to swimming lessons instruction or working with young people in an organized environment and/or participation in the Junior Lifeguard program.

Knowledge of:           

• The City of Woodland’s Swim Lesson Program and basic pool policies and procedures.

Ability to:

• Communicate clearly, both in oral written forms.
• Collaborate well with colleagues and others encountered during work.
• Swim proficiently and showcase various swimming techniques. 

Certifications:

• Standard First Aid, CPR in adult, child, and infant (or equivalent)
• American Red Cross Water Safety Aide is recommended.
• Exposure to American Red Cross Lifeguard Training is desirable.

 

SALARY SCHEDULE

$16.90-$17.90 per hour, based on experience and years of service.

VTA is seeking a skilled and dedicated Substation Maintainer to join our team. This role will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical substations with 750 volt DC and 11,000 - 22,000 volts AC power.

 Minimum Qualifications:Employment Standards
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class A license.

Training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in electrical inspections, maintenance, and repair, preferably on high voltage substations. The completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for electricians or equivalent can be included as part of the required years of experience.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, odd and unusual hours.

• In accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, all job applicants selected for appointment to this safety-sensitive position are subject to pre-employment drug testing. About Way, Power & Signal Maintenance
Way, Power & Signal Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of the light rail right-of-way, rail system power, tracks, signals, station facilities and related equipment. Components of the Way, Power & Signal unit are:

• Station & Wayside Maintenance: Station & Wayside Maintenance maintains and repairs (including graffiti removal) light rail stations, terminal buildings, restrooms, park & ride lots, landscaping, fences, guardrails, and other trackside areas.

• Track Maintenance: Track Maintenance maintains (including right-of-way weed eradication, vegetation control, and graffiti removal), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, services and repairs rail, switches, ties, roadbed, and track systems.

• Power Maintenance: Power Maintenance maintains (including trackside right-of-way tree trimming), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services light rail electric power systems, including overhead, substations, lighting, and other electrical systems.

• Signal Maintenance: Signal Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services signal systems, crossing gates, fare machines, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) controls, and station audio/video equipment.

• Passenger Facilities Maintenance: Passenger Facilities Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services all VTA-maintained passenger facilities, including bus stops. Services include: bench installation, painting and repair, core drilling for poles at new bus stops, garbage collection, trash receptacle installation and relocation, graffiti abatement, litter removal, pressure washing, red curb painting, signage inspection, route updates, and sweeping services. The Position: 

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is seeking dynamic, engaging and qualified engineers for several vacant Electric Utility Engineer positions in various divisions. 

 

For SVP Operations Division, this position will be assigned engineering work associated with communication and electrical power engineering. This individual will assist with the programming of industrial multiplexer networks. The individual should have a strong interest in industrial high-speed data networking.

 

For SVP Engineering and CIP projects Division, this position will be assigned engineering work associated with electrical power engineering, substation design and Transmission and distribution systems. The individual may manage or will assist in managing Capital improvement Projects (CIP) to support growth of the electric utility. The candidates should have strong background and interest in electric systems. 

 

For System Planning and Asset Management Division, this position will be assigned to perform and maintain distribution system model, participate in integrated SVP system planning and other SVP groups to deliver distribution system results and reports, identify and implement projects that are necessary to support load growth and improve reliability of the distribution system. This position will work closely with customer/developers on their projects, will coordinate with various City departments and support SVP’s field and operation staff as necessary.

Labor Relations & Equal Employment Unit (Position Code 16)

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date. 

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).  

The Woodland Community Services Department is seeking applications for part-time Lifeguard / Instructor's Aide positions. Under general supervision, Lifeguards will provide a safe environment for all aquatic programs, help prevent loss of life or injury to patrons, and perform related maintenance duties as needed. Some evening and weekend hours are required, and mandatory pre-season in-service training sessions will take place in June.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Enforces pool rules and regulations; rescues individuals in distress and provides First Aid/CPR as needed; maintains pool records and reports, including program registrations and safety reports; adheres to City policies and procedures; and performs other assigned duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Age Requirement:      

• At least 15 years of age.

Experience:    

• No prior experience is required.
• Recommended experience includes exposure to swimming lesson instruction, working with youth in an organized environment, participation in the Junior Lifeguard program, or experience as an Instructor's Aide or Lifeguard.

Knowledge of:           

• Familiarity with lifeguard rescue and life-saving techniques.
• The American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program and basic pool policies and procedures, or equivalent.
