The City of Dixon is recruiting to fill a full-time position of a Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works Streets Division and to establish an Eligibility List for future use. 

Essential Job Functions When Assigned to Streets: Performs semi-skilled and skilled repair and maintenance tasks involving traffic painting, traffic sign installation and maintenance and the installation of reflectors; performs minor street asphalting, patching and sealing; performs cement work on sidewalks, curbs and gutters; performs weed spraying, tree and bush trimming; performs graffiti removal. Positions operate backhoe for preparing grades and trenching and operate other equipment including, but not limited to, paint sprayer and striper, tractor, scraper, rototiller, chain saw, weed eater, mower, air compressor, paving machine, sand blaster, and emulsion sprayer.

Maintenance Worker I: This is the entry level class in the Maintenance Worker series and positions in this class typically have little or no directly related work experience.

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level class in the Maintenance Worker series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties.

Per Diem Management Analyst I - City Manager's Office

The City Manager’s Office is seeking a Management Analyst I for a per diem opportunity beginning as soon as possible. The position offers a flexible schedule. The expectation is this position will work 20-25 hours per week, but may go up to 30 hours per week on occasion, and will not exceed 960 hours total. The hourly rate is $48.91.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

POSITION

To attend a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T), a certified basic academy. ABOUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Woodland Police Department is staffed with 72 sworn officers and 22 support employees. It, too, is expected to expand in size as the City grows. The Department is managed by a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, four Lieutenants, ten Sergeants, and a Police Records Supervisor. The Department has three Bureaus: Patrol, Investigations, and Community Relations. Police Officers are assigned to all Bureaus where they work in various capacities and teams.   Within the Bureaus are many specialty units including K-9, Motors, School Resource Officers, Gang Task Force, Narcotics Agents, Detectives, and a Homeless Outreach Street Team.  There are a number of collateral duties available to officers including SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Arrest & Control Instructors, Firearms Instructors, Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T) instructors, Social Media Team, and Bicycle Team. ABOUT THE CITY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

As a Police Officer Recruit, the Recruit will attend a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T), a certified basic academy during regular academy hours, and any other scheduled departmental and academy exercise activities.  Successful completion of the academy is required to continue employment and be promoted to Police Officer.  General Supervision will be provided by supervisory Police Department personnel, both sworn and civilian, and P.O.S.T. Academy staff.  No direct supervision of staff is exercised. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Equivalent to graduation from an accredited U.S. high school; passing score on the General Education Development (GED) test; or possession of a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.

License or Certificate:  Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Environment:  The candidate will train in a high-stress police-training academy; indoor classrooms and outdoor physical agility course; exposed to noise, smoke, and inclement

Physical:  Physical health, strength, stature, and agility to meet the physical demands of police work as determined by an agility test and a pre-employment physical exam.

Vision:  See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Age:  Must be 21 years of age upon completion of the academy.

Citizenship:  A candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law at the time of appointment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the Police Officer Recruit position must pass the POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) with a minimum T-Score of 45 and must pass all components of the Physical Agility Test-Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB) with a minimum score of 320.

• If taken within the past 12 months, applicants may submit evidence of a P.O.S.T. Certified PELLETB test score with a score equal to or greater than a T-45 with the application to be considered for this recruitment.
• Woodland Police Department will accept previously received Physical Agility Test-Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB) scores if it is in an official format and less than 6 months old. 

Test Details:

1) Written Test - POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) - This test must be completed in less than 2.5 hours, and it must be passed with a minimum T-Score of 45.  The areas covered by the test include:

• Spelling - Select the correct spelling of a word from a list of options
• Vocabulary - Select the correct meaning of a word from a list of options
• Clarity - Select the sentence that is most clearly written from a pair of options
• Reading - Read a passage and answer questions about the passage's content
• CLOZE - Use contextual clues to complete a passage that contains missing words

2) Physical Agility Test - Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB) - This test consists of five individually timed and weighted events, and the minimum passing score is 320 (Important – POST Academies may require a higher standard). The events include:

• 99-yard obstacle course with sharp turns and up to 34-inch high obstacles
• 165-pound body drag for 32 feet
• 6-foot chain link fence climb
• 6-foot solid wall climb
• 500-yard run

Test Date:

Woodland Police Department will offer the WSTB tests on an ongoing basis. Candidates will be notified of test dates and times once they have applied.

Eligible List Placement: 

Applicants for this position must take and pass the Physical Agility - Work Sample Test Battery (pass/fail), and the POST Entry-level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) with a minimum T-score of 45 (weight: 100%).  Those applicants who pass both the PELLETB and Physical Agility test (WSTB) will be invited to participate in a panel interview.  Applicants who successfully pass the panel interview will be placed on an eligibility list and may be selected to participate in a final interview with the Chief of Police.

San Mateo County Health's Aging and Disability Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the unclassified and limited-term positions of In-Home Supportive Services Social Worker I/II/III. Social Workers provide a wide variety of welfare services in such areas as information and referral, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, chore services, and other welfare services within the Health and the Human Services Agency.

 
Currently, there are three limited-term vacancies and an unclassified vacancy in the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program. The program provides in-home care for persons who cannot safely remain in their own home without such assistance. The recipients of IHSS are aged, blind and/or disabled and eligible for Medi-Cal. Disabled and/or blind minor children may also be eligible for IHSS. The Social Worker will make a home visit to determine eligibility for the program and to conduct an assessment to determine a range of service hours for particular tasks. The IHSS recipient or guardian is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive. The Social Worker will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits, attend meetings and perform other duties of the position. The Social Worker will work in the San Mateo, CA Aging and Disability Services Office.
 

This IHSS Social Worker will conduct intake and/or on-going activities for IHSS recipients. Some of those activities include:

• Conduct initial IHSS assessments using a detailed State assessment tool.
• Complete necessary documents, paperwork, and work within different information technology systems.
• Conduct annual reassessments.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS recipients and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.
• Provide education, outreach, and community resources information.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and program integrity to ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Prepare for and attend Fair Hearings.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings or other activities to support San Mateo County's vision for integrated services.
• Maintain oversight of case management needs for a caseload focused on serving IHSS recipients who aged, blind, and/or disabled, including minors.
• Collaborate and facilitate service with care providers and other partner agencies.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Experience providing clinical assessment for children, youth and adults with disabilities. 
• Understanding of human development and behavior within diverse populations.
• Ability to independently develop and implement sound case plans of action.
• Experience balancing client-centered care coordination and accompanying administrative documentation.
• Familiarity in implementing program regulations.
• Superior organizational skills to manage a large caseload and related documents.

Social Workers provide highly skilled, intensive casework services to individuals and their families and provide casework consultation within the department and to outside agencies.  Incumbents of positions at this level work with minimal supervision and are expected to have acquired the high degree of assessment skills required to perform care coordination and referral tasks in complex casework areas. Lead supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

NOTE: This is an unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will for a limited duration, typically associated with grant or other special funding. These positions are not covered by San Mateo County Civil Service Rules; and there is no formal probation period. The following are the same for classified and unclassified positions: salary, increases and other forms of compensation; accrual of sick leave, vacation, overtime, holiday and leaves of absence; health, dental, vision, long and short term disability, and retirement.

NOTE: This is a limited term, at-will position. Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan.

Position Summary

This position reports directly to the Operations Control Manager, who provides general supervision, guidance, and assistance.  A substantial portion of the dispatcher’s work is assessment of unscheduled events and corrective action follow through.  Dispatcher’s work is evaluated by performance in maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service, dealing with emergency situations, supervision of bus operators, and interaction with bus transportation supervisors.
 
The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to make work assignments to bus operators in accordance with the labor agreement; within a geographic service area, to safely maintain scheduled and unscheduled service. A secondary responsibility is to act as Radio Controller as required.   Position may require working on extended shifts.
The first 6-months will be at a Dispatcher Trainee status. Every two months during training, there will be a step increase as follows:

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops a daily dispatch plan, based on availability of equipment and operators, and modifies the plan as conditions or events change during the day.
• Responsible for maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service at a rate greater than 99% of all schedules while minimizing additional costs of overtime.  
• Possesses the knowledge and interpretation of the labor agreement in scheduling the extra board, making work assignments, and handling a wide variety of operational situations.
• Assists, coordinates, and provides radio contact for bus transportation supervisors in the field, and dispatch them as needed to respond to situations requiring supervisor’s presence.
• Verifies accuracy and functioning of time clocks, check vehicle/operator supplies, reviews daily schedules, and verifies bus operator’s medical card and driver license.
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required.
