This position is housed in the Mental Health division of the Health and Human Services Agency. Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of para-professional and complex duties for eligible individuals, families, and groups. JOB DUTIES

• Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of employees performing journey level case management; selects, trains, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate staff.

• Assists in the preparation and administration of exams, arranges for oral appraisal panels, prepares letters and informational packages for oral boards and briefs members; schedules candidates for testing and interview processes.

Fiscal Analyst I  is the journey-level classification in the Fiscal Analyst series and is distinguished from the Fiscal Analyst I by the responsibility to perform the full range of duties typical of positions in the class series. The position is located at the Auditor-Controller Division at the Department of Finance and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Reconciles accounts.
• Prepares journal entries for programs, grants and related accounts; posts entries to general ledger; reconciles balances; transfers funds and closes accounts as appropriate.
• Compiles and analyzes data. Performs research and statistical analyses on administrative, fiscal, personnel, and/or programmatic issues.

Hiring for two (2) immediate positions in the Departments of: 

Community Development Department

The Community Development Department is comprised of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. In general, the Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, to ensure that construction conforms to the standards of the City and State. Within the Department, the Planning Division in the Community Development Department is responsible for reviewing proposed development projects in the City as well as Code Enforcement activities to enhance the community’s safety, welfare, quality of life, and economic opportunities. Specific activities within the Division include implementation of the City’s Short-Term Rental program, administration of the 6th Cycle Housing Element, El Camino Real Specific Plan revisions, and Santa Clara Station Area Specific Plan. The Office Specialist III will be essential to the administration and fiscal functions of the Division. This position is responsible for payment processing in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), compilation and preparation of data with preliminary analysis to support budget and State reporting requirements, and permitting process improvements. The position will also support personnel and administrative tasks such as website updates and activities related to retention of records.

This advanced secretarial class is distinguished from other City office support classes in that incumbents normally report to division head or higher City position with responsibilities involving the frequent use of tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment.  Responsibilities include regular contact with government officials, City Council or board or commission members, representatives of business or community organizations, the public, and all levels of City personnel to exchange information and explain administrative policies and procedures.

The Office Specialist III works under general supervision and is expected to work within established procedures and policies of the work unit. An employee in this class performs a variety of administrative assignments related to the execution of administrative detail and assisting in departmental administrative service areas. An Office Specialist III may act as a lead to lower-level clerical classifications, but is primarily an individual contributor with a high level of expertise in generalized office administration. This classification performs advanced administrative assignments involving budget preparation and maintenance, research and data analysis, use of permitting software, payroll, and other clerical support as required.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking an effective and skilled communicator, and highly motivated problem solver for the position of Principal Transportation Engineer/Planner.  This management position reports directly to the Transportation and Traffic Manager in the Public Works Department and will be responsible for:  assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating the activities of the Division of Transportation and Traffic; and perform professional traffic engineering, transportation planning, designing, and project management.

This position will supervise a small team within the Division to accomplish specific tasks and high-level, community-oriented projects. Current projects include: East Channel Trail study; Mary Avenue Overcrossing over highways 101 and 237; Bernardo Avenue railroad undercrossing; Sunnyvale Avenue and Mary Avenue railroad grade separations, liaison with the County for the Lawrence Grade Separation project; and coordinating with VTA as part of the delivering Measure B transportation projects. The position will manage multiple consultant contracts and will be expected to coordinate and work closely with other staff within the Division and with staff within other departments such as Public Works, Community Development, Environmental Services, and Public Safety, and represent the City with outside agencies such as the Valley Transportation Authority, Caltrain, High Speed Rail, Caltrans, MTC, County of Santa Clara, and adjacent cities.

The position will focus on advancing the projects mentioned above, assist with oversight of the design and traffic signal operations, implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); assist with the coordination of Division of Transportation and Traffic activities with other divisions and departments; oversee and assist with oversight of the grant application preparation, reporting, and management for transportation projects; assist with planning and coordinating division workload and budgets; creating and sustaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships across the City, with the development community, and residents; attend and present at public meetings/City Commissions; and provide assistance with highly complex traffic engineering work. VTA’s Engineering and Program Delivery (EPD) Division is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for the Quality Assurance (QA) Group under the Technical Services Department.  

Quality Assurance Group: 
The QA Group supports all capital improvement programs for the Division during planning, design, procurement, construction and closeout phases of highway, rail, transit and facilities projects.  As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring delivery of quality products and services for the Division. This position is located in the Drug & Alcohol/ Substance Use Disorder Services division in the Behavioral Health Department at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. Under general direction this position plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities and staff for a variety of County Health and Human Services Agency programs.
