Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.

This part-time, per diem role is responsible for inspecting properties to ensure compliance with wildfire prevention and fuel mitigation requirements. You'll engage with residents, educate the public, and help reduce wildfire risk across the District.

The City of San Bruno Public Library is currently recruiting for a part-time, temporary Library Assistant—Homework Center Supervisor. Under the direction of the Library Services Manager, the Library Assistant—Homework Center Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Library's after-school Homework Center, including classroom management, homework help, supervising and training volunteers, collaborating with library staff, and maintaining
accurate records of homework center attendance. The incumbent will be responsible for
maintaining a welcoming place for students to do their homework effectively within the larger context of the library, and for planning STEAM weekly activities and training/supervising students in the use of the 3-D printer. The homework center is a free, drop-in, after-school program for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

* This is a part-time/temporary/seasonal position with the City of San Bruno.  As such, employees agree to serve in an at-will capacity and understand that service with the City may be terminated at any time.  This position works a maximum of 17 hours per week and does not provide any benefits, except for paid sick leave. In accordance with the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014, all temporary, part-time, and seasonal employees, who on or after July 1, 2015, work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are entitled to paid sick leave for prescribed purposes.  Employees will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and are entitled to use accrued sick days beginning on the 90th day of employment.  Employees may use up to 40 hours (or 5 days) of accrued sick leave in each year of employment.

Foster City is seeking a well-qualified individual with strong leadership skills to fill the position of Financial Services Manager. They are responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing the day-to-day operations of accounts receivable, business license, cash receipts, and utilities. The Financial Services Manager compiles annual City budget and all non-departmental budgets, manages the effective use of division resources to improve organizational productivity and customer service, provides complex and responsible support to the Finance Director in areas of expertise, and performs related work as required.

The position will be an overfill position due to the current incumbent's retirement, pending City Council approval. This position will be filled for training purposes to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations allowing the new hire to gain hands-on experience and knowledge before the incumbent's departure. The anticipated start date will be October 2025. 

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or a related.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training, and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Description

The incumbent provides high-level public information, community outreach, and multi-media services that require in-depth knowledge of public sector communications, multi-media, script writing and editing, website and graphic design and experience in managing and implementing creative and innovative promotions and projects.

Under general direction, the Communications Program Manager coordinates the citywide public communications activities and maintains content on the City's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communications efforts; and coordinates social media and video communications activities.  Incumbents may function as a supervisor of as-needed employees, or an individual contributor, depending on the department or assignment.

The Real Estate Manager will be responsible for activities focused on the acquisition, leasing, disposition and management of real property.

 

You are:

The ideal candidate is a working manager with real property management experience, excellent leadership skills and a firm commitment to superior service. Hayward places a high priority on providing excellent customer service to its internal and external customers. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential to succeed in this position. What you will do: 
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the City’s real estate activities, plans and projects. 
• Manage City and Hayward Economic Development Corporation’s real estate acquisition and disposition initiatives to achieve City economic development and revenue objectives.
• Prepare requests for proposals designed to select developers and tenants; analyze business terms and negotiate complex lease and purchase agreements. 
• Manage the City’s portfolio of properties leased to third parties. 
• Consult and work closely with the City Attorney’s Office and/or outside legal counsel to ensure agreements, deeds, quitclaims, partial releases, partial reconveyance and other instruments are compliant with municipal, state and federal law. 
• Support Public Works Department with the negotiation and preparation of use agreements related to use of public right-of-way for telecommunication services, including but not limited to, fiber optic cable and small cell radio equipment; administer use agreements once entered. 
• Assist in the selection and contract negotiations with independent appraisers, relocation specialists, negotiators and other outside consultants involved with property, building and right-of-way acquisitions, appraisals, negotiations and relocations, and eminent domain proceedings; provide direction and instruction related to work as needed. 
• Manage administrative support staff to ensure records related to use agreements and leases are complied with, and payments are up to date, and follow up as needed on non-payment. 
• Review title reports to determine ownership, coordinate escrows, and assist other City staff in the preparation of property descriptions and reports related to real property. 
• Manage sales of City surplus property, including advertising, negotiations and recommendations regarding property sales. Provide technical assistance and advice to other City Departments as required relative to Real Property Program. 
• Coordinate outreach to tenants and property owners regarding projects requiring property acquisition; compile data to determine relocation and socio-economic needs of occupants and availability of relocation accommodations; and negotiate appropriate relocation terms and payments. 
• Prepare written and oral reports and correspondence to City Council, City Manager, other City Departments and Department staff.

Minimum Qualifications

You have: 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience involving real property appraisals, negotiations, acquisitions, relocations, and property management, including at least two years of supervisory experience. Experience with or exposure to public private partnerships is desirable 

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, engineering, real estate or a related field. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.  

License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver’s License.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
Essential duties require the mental and/or physical ability to: work in a standard office environment and use standard office equipment and current software; safely drive to various locations throughout the City and County to manage, direct, coordinate and/or participate in meetings and community events in a variety of community settings and weather conditions; make effective presentations to public audiences; conduct City business during day and evening hours, including occasional weekend and irregular hours; grasp, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to prepare documents and data using a computer keyboard and mouse/trackball; sit for prolonged periods of time; stand, walk, reach, bend, and safely lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 35 pounds; withstand exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards; converse by telephone, by email, in person, and before small and large groups, and be clearly understood; read and comprehend legal, technical and complex documents; interact with the public, elected officials, government agencies, and all different levels of City staff in an effective and professional manner. Are you someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and making an impact behind the scenes?  The City of Belmont is looking for a Management (Budget) Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make an impact through thoughtful budgeting, financial analysis, and cross-department support.

As a Management (Budget) Analyst, you'll work under the direction of a Finance Manager to help develop the City’s annual budget, support financial planning efforts, and keep key systems running smoothly. You’ll be hands-on with both day-to-day operations and longer-term projects that support Belmont’s financial health.

This position is classified as Management Analyst I or II, with the working title of Budget Analyst.
Placement will be made at either level depending on experience and department needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and 5-year capital improvement plan

• Maintain the City’s budget system and provide end-user support and training

• Analyze trends in revenues and expenditures, and prepare financial reports and presentations

• Coordinate budget transfers and amendments

• Manage chart of accounts alignment and process documentation

• Support payroll processes, audits, and financial system upgrades

• Research local, state, and federal regulations for financial impacts

• Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies to gather and share financial data

• Contribute to cost allocation models, internal service fund rates, and related analysis

• Take on special projects and assist in the general administration of the Finance Department
