Maintenance Worker III: This is the senior level class in the maintenance series. The Senior Building Inspector is a skilled, knowledgeable, and dedicated professional with a proficient understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices. You will be responsive and analytical; and be effective in a fast-paced and dynamic settings. You will have 7-10 years’ experience in the building inspection field, ideally within municipal or governmental roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and mentor, expertise in overseeing building inspections, interpreting building codes, and ensuring compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards. You will have relevant certifications in building inspection, such as ICC (International Code Council) Certified Building Inspector, or similar.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Deputy Building Official

• Graduation from high school or equivalent based on courses taken from an accredited educational institution.  Associate of Science degree in Building Inspection or related field is preferred.  
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection, including commercial, of which at least two (2) years must be in a supervisory capacity.  

Senior Building Inspector

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent based on courses taken from an accredited educational institution.  
• Associate of Arts degree preferred AND five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection, including commercial inspection and/or plan check experience, of which at least two (2) years must be at the full journey level or above.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Both Positions: Maintain a Valid CA driver’s license.

Deputy Building Official

Must maintain ICC certification in at least three of the following areas: commercial building inspector, combination building inspector, electrical inspector, plumbing inspector or mechanical inspector.  These certifications are required at time of hire. In addition, Plans Examiner certification from ICC is required, but may be obtained within 6 months of hire. 

Senior Building Inspector

 Building Inspector certification from International Code Council (ICC) or equivalent is required. CASP certification is highly desirable. Possession of a Commercial Building Inspector or Building Plans Examiner certification from ICC is desirable.  Certification as a Commercial Building Inspector must be obtained within one year of appointment as a condition of continued employment.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Under general direction of the Finance Officer, this position performs professional and technical work of a confidential nature in the area of general accounting. The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

There is one (1) full-time, regular hire Senior Civil Engineer vacancy in the Engineering Division. 

Under direction, the Senior Civil Engineer, plans, manages, and coordinates the engineering program. Using broad parameters of departmental policy guidelines, this position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project outcomes. The Senior Civil Engineer creates the scope on large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines, integrating numerous elements that significant stakeholder involvement and sensitivity. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work performed by their staff and ensures that projects are completed efficiently and effectively for the public good. Informing the public and Board of Supervisors, selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, and administering contracts during construction are performed by the Senior Civil Engineer. 

Signing bonus:
In addition to a competitive compensations package, new, full-time, regular hire Senior Civil Engineers are eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

Hybrid schedule:
The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior GIS Technician in the Community Development & Services Agency. This position provides lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; performs a variety of technical office and field work duties that require specialized knowledge related to the creation and maintenance of maps, tables, graphs, and other geographic source data with the use of enterprise GIS, permitting, and asset management systems; provides technical support and queried data to department staff, other County departments, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, developers, and the public; and performs related work as assigned.

This position is the advanced journey lead/specialist level position that reports directly to the Public Works Director.

Examples of Duties:

• Provide direction and guidance as a lead worker regarding data collection and GIS utilization; may review the work of technical staff assigned to a variety of GIS duties; assist supervisor with training program and identifying training needs; provide staff training in the use of and applications of GIS information.  
• Perform accurate and timely updates to County GIS s files and data management records related to streets, sewer, water, and storm systems, asset inventory, plats, parcels, right-of-ways, easements, and data layers.
• Perform quality control checks to integrity of GIS data and applications; review and resolve conflicts in data; evaluate currency, usefulness, and completeness of data.
• Create, compose, modify, and edit GIS spatial and attribute data, export data for a variety of special projects.
• Produce maps, tables, and graphs for internal and external use; determine and execute the appropriate sequence of data processing tasks; use established GIS and permitting systems to query data and produce documents.

Marina Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center, and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Marina Attendants provide assistance and information to marina customers, in person and by telephone; perform marina related inspections and boat checks including seaworthiness boat checks and improvement verifications; perform boat measurement and appearance inspections; monitor dock conditions, check seawall and other dock infrastructure, and clear debris from Suisun City waters; perform impound and auction related activities; interpret, apply and explain policies, regulations, codes and procedures relating to slips, moorings and dock structures; assign space for visiting vessels, calculate and collect fees; maintain inventory and operate marina equipment. Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works is recruiting to fill an Information Systems Analyst (ISA) position within the Enterprise GIS (Geographic Information Systems) team.  

Salary range(s) for this classification is $137,089.68- $167,032.32 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Enterprise GIS team operates out of the Department of Public Works but works across the city to coordinate GIS efforts, lead multi-departmental GIS projects, geospatially-enable City business systems, and administer Enterprise GIS infrastructure for citywide use. The city has standardized on a modern technology stack consisting of Windows Server, Esri ArcGIS platform, VertiGIS Studio, Safe Software FME, and SQL Server enterprise geodatabases. The city has an enterprise license agreement with Esri, and the Enterprise GIS team maintains a large Enterprise GIS server environment with public and internal-facing ArcGIS Server instances, complementary ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online organizations, an SDE environment featuring a data catalog with over 1,000 feature classes, and integrations with dozens of business systems.   

The ISA is a professional-level position in the IT professional management series and responsible for GIS system administration, database design, business system integration, application development, and implementation of large-scale enterprise projects. The position requires a GIS professional with broad technical experience as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. The ideal candidate must be a strong individual contributor that is able to take full ownership of projects, designing solutions in alignment with City Enterprise GIS standards and industry best practices and working at a hands-on level to build, implement, and support such solutions. The position also demands proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. Advanced knowledge of the ArcGIS platform and experience with GIS server administration is required. Experience with VertiGIS Studio and GIS web application development in an Esri environment is highly desirable.   

The GIS ISA reports to the Enterprise GIS Manager. This position is responsible for programming that supports the development and maintenance of major applications used citywide.  

Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:   

• Administer Enterprise GIS server environment (ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS Studio, FME Server), including planning for and conducting system upgrades; applying and confirming patches; capacity planning and load testing; publishing and tuning services; managing backups; troubleshooting and resolving system issues; managing security policies, user accounts, roles, and permissions; and maintaining system documentation. 

• Meet with business owners and end users to gather and document requirements for GIS solutions. Design, build, and deploy mapping applications on the ArcGIS platform. Provide documentation, training, and support to end users.  

• Develop and maintain web mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio Web 5.x, including web map authoring, site configuration, and development of print templates, reports, and workflows.  

• Develop and maintain complex geoprocessing routines and ETL workbenches using FME and/or Python.  

• Conduct data modeling and design activities for new datasets by analyzing inputs and developing appropriate schemas in alignment with City standards. 

• Build and support GIS integrations with City business systems.  

• Lead large-scale, cross-department Enterprise GIS projects. Work collaboratively with departments to reduce program redundancies and support effective use of enterprise resources. Train end users on enterprise standards and best practices; provide development oversight and guidance. 

In addition, this position is part of a team responsible for providing GIS support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated.
