The Traffic Signal Technician performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks involving maintenance, repair, modification, inspection, and testing of traffic signals, controllers, and street lighting systems.

Examples of duties include:

• Electrical maintenance and repairs on traffic signal, street lighting, and battery back-up systems and equipment
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and installs traffic signal network communication devices, video detection systems, and closed circuit television cameras
• Performs electrical system wiring and installations
• Services generating units, switches, circuit breakers and other electrical fixtures
• Modifies detector loops and changes and repairs traffic signal heads
• Locates underground utilities
• Responds to emergencies or reported malfunctions
• Consults with factory representatives and traffic engineering staff to identify and resolve technical problems

Program Assistant - Receptionist

Salary Range: $18.52 - $30.68/hour, depending on experience.

DEFINITION

Perform a wide variety of general clerical and/ or operational support duties at the Danville Community Center and/ or Senior Center. Incumbent serves as the facility receptionist, assisting with customer service-related questions and issues, and directing callers and visitors according to established procedures.
 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position.
• 0-20 hours per week; not-to-exceed 950 hours per calendar year.

SUPERVISION

Direct supervision is received from the Administrative Assistant with indirect supervision from the Recreation Superintendent. May exercise supervision of part-time personnel and volunteers as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Serve as first point of contact with the public; responds to information requests regarding services, classes, and events offered by the Town by email, in person or over the phone.
• Perform a wide variety of routine office duties to support department operations including filing, preparing basic reports, and program registration.
• Register participants, and support facility reservations using Active Net software.
• Performs cash handling duties, process payments, and issue receipts. 
• Assist in proofreading the Activity Guide and other marketing materials.
• Communicate with a variety of department staff to resolve customer inquiries.
• Provide support on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule throughout the year.

Knowledge of:

• Correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Modern office methods, procedures and equipment, including office automation hardware and software.
• File management.
• Word processing (Microsoft Word) and data processing systems, including Microsoft Outlook.

Ability to:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

One (1) year of experience performing standard clerical and secretarial duties. Prior experience as a receptionist in a related field preferred.

Education:

The equivalent of the successful completion of the twelfth grade; some college experience preferred.

THE POSITION

Under direct supervision, a Traffic Signal Technician Trainee receives instruction in and performs a variety of tasks involving maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of street lighting and traffic signal systems and equipment; and  performs other duties as assigned.

Examples of duties include:

• Receives training and direction and assists with and/or performs maintenance and repairs on street lighting, traffic signal, and airport lighting systems and equipment
• Assists with electrical system wiring and installations
• Replaces lights, lamps, ballasts, and fixtures
• Assists with and/or performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on street lighting and traffic signals
• Assists in the coordination of projects and tasks

The Agency has an opening for a part-time (hourly intermittent) Accounting Technician on the Finance team. Under general supervision, performs professional accounting work involving the City’s various grants, budget process, and other accounting work as required.

DISTINGUISING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a professional level accounting position in the Administrative Services Department.  Under general supervision, incumbents in this class perform the full range of accounting assignments in various areas of governmental, budgeting and accounting for grants.

The City of Live Oak (Public Works Department) is recruiting to fill ONE vacancy as as a Maintenance Worker I, II, or III. Classification will depend on qualifications and experience.

Description 

Under varying levels of supervision, performs maintenance and repair of City facilities, roads, streets, water and sewer maintenance activities and performs other duties essential to the maintenance of the City. Current and valid  water distribution certifications and Class A/B commercial drivers license are highly desirable. 

Classifications 

Maintenance Worker I: This is the entry-level class in the maintenance series. Under immediate supervision the applicant will perform semi-skilled labor and maintenance and repair. Salary $40,333.75 - $52,125.54 per year ($19.393 - $25.063 per hour) DOQ

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level class in the maintenance series. Under general supervision the applicant will perform semi-skilled and skilled labor and maintenance repair. Salary $44,680.45 - $57,743.03 per year ($21.484 - $27.758 per hour) DOQ

Maintenance Worker III: This is the senior level class in the maintenance series. Under limited supervision the applicant will organize, assign, review, and participate in the work of assigned personnel engaged in maintenance equipment operation work pertaining to building, maintenance and repair. Salary $48,664.92 - $62,892.37 per year ($23.399 - $30.234 per hour) DOQ 

Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of administrative and secretarial support within the City Manager’s office or another City department; coordinates office activities; and, performs other related work for an assigned department/division as required.

This class is distinguished from the Administrative Assistant series by the former requiring a broader understanding of City functions, and a greater emphasis on preserving the confidentiality of sensitive information and the performance of highly technical assignment involving functions of the assigned department.

Receive supervision from the City Manager/Deputy City Manager or Department Head/Manager. Exercises no direct supervision over staff. 

• Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, providing factual information which may require the interpretation of City policies and procedures; takes messages or refers the caller to the appropriate person. 

• Provide administrative support for the entire department (e.g. distribute and send mail, postings, arrange food and beverages, and set up and take down meetings, etc.)

• Researches, synthesizes, and compiles data for informational purposes, projects, or special reports or summaries.

• Implements and manages department filing system including records retention schedules both electronic and physical.

• Maintains confidential office files, records, and indexes.
