The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department.  The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The shared goal of facility staff is to provide youth with support and tools that will assist them with successfully reintegrating back into the community.  Staff are provided with state mandated relevant training, which includes youth trauma; crisis management; cultural competence; mental health awareness; sexual abuse and harassment; and proper use of force.    

IMPORTANT: 

• All qualified applicants will be  required  to participate in the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), Correctional Officer & Probation Officer series exam. Additional details with specifics will follow after the  published application review date.
• Upon request, applicants placed on the eligibility list will be required to complete, sign and return a Personal History Statement directly to the Probation Department .

Please keep in mind that if selected you will have to pass a background check. In order to get fingerprinted you MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, STATE ISSUED ID, or VALID PASSPORT.  It takes between 2-6 weeks to receive your STATE ISSUED ID, if done early this should be enough time before the soccer season begins. 

Individuals must be able to officiate and control games, events, and competitions in a confident, appropriate manner. Ensure all participants understand and comply with game rules and assess penalties when needed. Make game calls with confidence and knowledge of league rules. Keep track of event start times, and start or stop play as necessary.

Water System Worker I

($23.03 -29.49 per hour)

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Water System Worker I to assist in the operation and maintenance of the City’s water distribution system, including pumps, mains, chlorinators, meters, and other equipment; and perform related work as required on an assigned shift, under the general supervision of the Utilities Systems Supervisor and/or Director of Public Works.

This position performs a variety of work in the monitoring of county, state and federal detainees and maintains the security and safety of inmates and staff.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Performs booking procedures, including receiving, booking and assigning prisoners to cells; performing body searches; fingerprinting, and photographing prisoners, etc.
• Maintains custody of prisoners’ private property.
• Maintains the safe and orderly operation of the County jail facility; monitors security cameras and door warning lights; screens and monitors visitors. Inspects all of inmates’ incoming and outgoing mail and telegrams.
• Inspects facilities regularly.
• Monitors the condition and activities of prisoners.
• Prepares prisoners for court appearances; provides transportation as necessary.
• Administers First Aid in emergency situations.
• Performs general office work, including but not limited to entering computer data, copying and filing documents, etc.
• Prepares and submits required records and reports.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

The City of Patterson’s Public Works Department is seeking to fill (1) one full-time Maintenance Worker position within the Urban Forestry division and to establish an eligibility list.  Duties include but are not limited to: Under supervision performs routine manual labor, maintenance, and repair tasks while learning to perform a full range of semi-skilled work required in maintenance, repair, operations and construction of related facilities, parks, streets, and services; performs other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the City’s Urban Forestry, Parks, Streets, Collections or Building Maintenance Divisions.  Eligible lists may be valid for up to twelve months.
 

Part-time temporary assignment assisting Code Enforcement. This assignment expires at the end of December 2026 or until ARPA funds deplete.

Summary Description

Under immediate supervision performs semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work assigned to the streets division; operates maintenance and construction tools and equipment; performs a variety of maintenance tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is the entry level class in the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Representative Duties

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

1. Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.
2. Remove blight and illegal dumps from city property such as parks, right of ways, roadways, alleys, walkways, sidewalks and refuse disposal. 
3. Remove debris, shrubbery, brush, trash, tires, appliances, electronics, and miscellaneous items.
4. Make minor adjustments on service equipment; maintain tools and equipment in working order.
5. Abates graffiti.
6. Maintain logs of daily activities.
7. Assist in other areas as needed.
8. Perform related duties as required.
9. Repair and replace street surfaces, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters including back filling trenches and evacuations.
10. Perform the maintenance, repair, construction, and installation work of streets, storm drain, parking lots, street lights, traffic striping, and traffic control signs and signals.
11. Remove hazards from the roadway and other public rights of way.
12. Operate a variety of motorized equipment and specialized maintenance equipment.
13. Perform repaving, patching, overlaying, chuck hole, and crack sealing repair of asphalt.
14. Perform underground service alert locating, marking and notification.
15. Lay out and install traffic signs and pavement markings.
16. Repair and maintain storm drain lift stations.
17. Conduct traffic count surveys.
18. Maintain storm detention ponds, including cleaning, repairing, and spraying weeds.
19. Respond to hazardous materials spills.

QUALIFICATIONS

THE POSITION

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Director of Finance.  This executive position performs highly responsible and complex professional work.  Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates financial planning, accounting, revenue administration, data processing, purchasing, preparation of payroll, investments telecommunication accounts, billing and collection of utilities and other user charges; provides highly responsible professional and technical staff assistance to the City Administrator, City Council, and departments; and performs other related work as required;  The finance director is also designated to be the City Treasurer. 

The City of Stockton seeks to fill an Information Technology Supervisor position with primary responsibilities around Enterprise Applications. This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining enterprise applications, GIS applications, data integrations, budgeting,  and managing assigned staff within the Information Technology Department.  This Information Technology Supervisor is accountable for the leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks required to ensure that assigned information systems at the City are evolving to providing value to the departments in a secure and cost-efficient way.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing strong plans and roadmaps on how the application portfolio meets the business needs in an efficient, cost-effective, resource-balanced and secure way to gain executive support and buy-in. Furthermore, the incumbent will be accountable for executing the roadmap to ensure the application portfolio provides value, meets cyber security standards, and is vendor supported.

The incumbent must be proficient in creating the documentation of current and future state, roadmaps, and transition plans that support application initiatives. The right candidate will maintain the application inventory in collaboration with the business users and recommend appropriate actions to maximize the value to the organization. It will be essential to keep up with the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the application portfolio. Knowledge and experience in both on-premise and cloud technology are paramount.  A strong understanding of how to apply modern cyber security principles to secure on-prem and cloud applications and associated data assets are the foundation of every deployment.

The incumbent will work closely with other supervisors and leaders in the IT department to coordinate activities to ensure software applications, hardware, virtualization, cloud deployment, and cyber tool deployments are successful and execution follows established methodical processes.

Information Technology Supervisors work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with alternating Fridays off. May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends to provide critical support to key initiatives.

Incumbents in this position are excluded from the Civil Service system and are in a "for-cause" employment status represented by the Mid-Management/Supervisory bargaining unit. Only those applicants who best fit the needs of the City will be referred to the hiring department.
