San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Community Program Analyst II - Aging & Disability Services.

The Community Program Analyst II position within the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Unit, a community-based service for older adults and people living with disabilities, within the Aging and Disability Services (ADS) Division. The position performs a variety of technical tasks related to monitoring, policy interpretation, policy development, and development of training materials for the IHSS program. Much of the work includes compiling and analyzing data, collaborating with staff and clients/families to ensure a service delivery system that is responsive to the needs of older adults and people with disabilities. Individuals should have knowledge of issues regarding aging, disabilities, functional/cognitive/mental limitations and experience in QA within a large, regulation driven service delivery system.

The Community Program Analyst will conduct QA case documentation reviews, home visits, and consultation as detailed by the California Department of Social Services (State). The analyst will provide technical guidance and education on program regulations and county operations and produce monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for Aging and Disability Services management/executives and State QA/Program Integrity. In addition, the analyst will serve as liaison among social workers, Public Authority and IHSS clients/providers to resolve disputes. The role also includes leading investigations and collaboration with the California Department of Health Care Services on suspected program misuse and oversight of all required QA monitoring work of the unit.

Community Program Analysts provide technical assistance and evaluate program functions to support effective community and client service delivery. They serve as County liaisons with contract service providers, and community-based organizations, ensure compliance with program regulations and procedures and monitor contracts related to assigned programs. Analysts may also perform other work-related duties as required.

The current vacancy is in the ADS Division located in San Mateo, CA, but may move to the South San Francisco office if needed. The position will travel throughout the County to perform the duties of this position. Travel to meetings and training courses located in Sacramento and other counties is also required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Fluency in Spanish, Russian, Tagalog, Mandarin, or Cantonese (preferred but not required).
• A self-directed, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Two to three years of leadership experience in a highly regulated program.
• Prior experience with IHSS.
• The ability to prepare professional, detailed written and statistical reports, including experience with data entry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Power Apps), Adobe, and the ability to quickly learn multiple database systems such as the Case Management, Information, and Payrolling System (CMIPS II).

• Capacity to manage projects while balancing multiple assignments, adjusting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of systems of care for older adults and people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including experience conducting home visits.
• Familiarity with QA desk reviews and home visits, including identifying assessment discrepancies and concerns, and developing solutions to improve compliance with regulations.
• The ability to analyze, interpret, and implement new and existing federal, state, and county regulations and laws related to IHSS and the continuum of care for older adults and people with disabilities

This is a limited term, at-will position. Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Redwood City Fire Department is seeking individuals for the position of Cadet Firefighter. The Cadet Firefighter Program is designed to allow students an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of fire department operations. Fire Department Cadets spend a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours per month at the firehouse, participating in calls for service, station duties, and training. About the role:                   

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Arts & Events is responsible for overseeing the City’s signature community events, cultural programming, and public art initiatives that celebrate Redwood City’s diverse community and vibrant downtown. This position manages the planning, coordination, and production of a wide range of public events including festivals, concerts, cultural celebrations, and arts programming that bring people together and foster community pride.

In addition to event management, this role provides critical support to the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on all public art initiatives. 18-week training program that teaches basic technical and job-readiness skills to prepare participants for a IAM Local 1414 Registered Apprenticeship for the Automotive Mechanic, Machinist, Auto Body Painter, or Body and Fender Repairer. The 18-week program includes eighteen (18) weeks of free academic training through City College of San Francisco, as well as nine (9) weeks paid on-the-job experience. All equipment and uniforms are provided by the program. First nine (9) weeks of program at CCSF Evans Campus 8 am-4 pm Mon-Thurs. (unpaid)

Second nine (9) weeks 1/2 day class, four (4) hours at CCSF Evans Campus, and four hours a day, four days a week for nine weeks (paid) On-The-Job training.

Under immediate supervision, the 9940 Pre-Apprentice Automotive Mechanic performs semi-skilled trainee work designed to introduce career options and role models in connection with the operation, maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles. As part of a Pre-Apprenticeship program, incumbents learn about the work environment, required skilled mechanical work, and real-life experience to help them find employment as an apprentice and eventually as a journey mechanic. The City of Menlo Park is seeking engineering professionals, with exceptional technical and project management skills, for Senior Civil Engineer positions in the Public Works Department (Department) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Division. The Senior Engineer will lead capital improvement projects under the supervision of the City Engineer or Public Works Director. The CIP team delivers projects for City owned facilities including streets, buildings, storm and domestic water, and parks. The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for executing CIP projects from planning through completion and managing assigned staff.

About the Department

The Public Works Department consists of approximately 72 full time employees and is responsible for maintaining and improving the City’s streets, parks, water and stormwater systems, traffic signals, fleet, and public buildings.  Public Works provides many of the basic services affecting the daily lives of everyone living, working, visiting, and commuting within the City, including:  

• 26 City-owned buildings/facilities and their grounds
• A fleet of over 250 vehicles and pieces of equipment
• 97 miles of streets
• Drinking water delivery for 16,000 customers
• Flood protection and stormwater management programs particularly along the San Francisco Bay, San Francisquito Creek and Atherton Channel
• 14 parks, 2 open spaces, 14 playgrounds, 2 dog parks, 9 sports fields, and 14 tennis/pickleball courts
• Efforts to preserve and expand the urban canopy, including 20,000 public trees
• Multimodal transportation services including 42 traffic signals, safe routes to schools and citywide shuttle programs. 

The department has nearly a $40 million operating budget supported by over 25 different special/dedicated funding sources for the varied programs and services provided to the community. In addition, the City has an approximate $100 million capital improvement program, in part due to a successful track record in pursuing grants from a variety of local, state and federal sources. Some of the exciting efforts on the horizon include efforts to protect the San Francisco Bay shoreline and adjacent community from sea level rise; efforts to eliminate the City’s reliance on fossil fuels through building and fleet electrification; making investments in transportation safety through strategic quick-build projects and large infrastructure changes like a pedestrian/bicycle undercrossing at Caltrain; and ensuring the equitable delivery of services throughout the entire city in alignment with the goals and programs developed as part of the city’s first environmental justice element underway.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Redwood City Public Library is looking for a community-centered, values-driven person who will deliver active and engaged customer service, with a focus on supporting self-service and delivering a top-notch experience for each visitor of the library. The ideal candidate will work well with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, innovative team environment. The candidate will be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic, creative, technologically savvy and able to consistently provide superb service to a diverse community of library users. This selected candidate will work year-round 5-15 hours per week including nights and weekends, at any of our library facilities – Redwood City Downtown Library, Redwood Shores Branch Library and Schaberg Branch Library. 

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Greet customers when entering and leaving the library;
• Provide customer service at all service points;
• Assist customers with self checkouts and other self service needs;
• Perform library services using new technologies;
• Issue library cards to new customers;
• Collect fines and fees; answer routine in-person and telephone information questions;
• Explain library policies and resolve problems and complaints;
• Assist customers with computers and other devices;
• Follow opening and closing procedures;
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of displays of library materials;
• Collect statistics;
• Assist with preparing library materials for circulation;
