ABOUT THE POSITION

Throughout the internship, you will gain exposure to employee benefits and incentive programs, recruitment and hiring processes, payroll administration, labor agreements, HR compliance, and policy development. You’ll build practical, real-world HR experience in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive workplace. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience with NeoGov, a leading applicant tracking system used by public agencies nationwide, as well as Tyler Munis HRIS and payroll systems. WORK SCHEDULE 

This internship can start as early as May 26, 2026, and end as late as September 30, 2026. This paid internship is offered at 15 – 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. 

The official start and end date of the internship will be determined at the time of hire. Work hours are generally Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

• Provide support for recruitment activities, including job postings and interview coordination.
• Assist in supporting the preparation of the City’s annual Health Fair and wellness initiatives.

The Executive Assistant/Deputy District Clerk independently performs a wide range of highly responsible, confidential, and complex administrative duties to a small team of Executives. WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Executive Assistant/Deputy District Clerk will be required to attend evening Board/Committee meetings. Meetings may be held in Los Altos or offsite.  This position is part of the General Manager’s office at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work environment for this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by two (2) years of college-level coursework in business or secretarial science and
• Three (3) years of responsible secretarial experience involving assisting executive management or a high-level officials with administrative duties.
• Experience in a City or Special District Clerk’s Office is highly desirable.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Certified Municipal Clerk designation is desirable.

The Department: 

The Finance Department administers the financial affairs of the City of Santa Clara, including City-owned public utilities. The department is comprised of five divisions: Administrative Services, Budget and Treasury, Accounting, Municipal Services, and Purchasing. Together, these divisions carry out the mission of the Finance Department to ensure that the City's financial and fiscal activities are performed, recorded, and presented in compliance with professional and ethical standards.

The Position: 

The Finance Department seeks to recruit a Meter Reader with experience working independently, with a high level of motivation, integrity, and customer service. This position will read between 500 and 1,200 analog and digital residential, commercial, and industrial water and electric utility meters to ensure the accuracy of readings entered into a hand-held data entry terminal. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate utility billing and revenue integrity by collecting and recording meter data while providing courteous, professional interactions with customers in the field.

Position Duties

The salary range for the Senior Power Resources Specialist Classification is:
$147,005.04 - $180,070.80 Annually
This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

The Energy Department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Senior Regulatory Compliance & Policy Manager (Senior Power Resources Specialist) position for the Regulatory Compliance & Policy Division. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of the Regulatory Compliance & Policy Division and will provide technical analysis, assess the potential business impacts to SJCE from proposed regulatory changes, and provide expert public representation.

Under general direction of the Deputy Director, the Senior Regulatory Compliance & Policy Manager will be responsible for engaging in the increasing number of complex electric regulatory proceedings and effectively advocating for the business interests of SJCE at the  California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”), the California Energy Commission (CEC), and California Independent System Operator (“CAISO”) to protect and advance San José business and community interests. Typical duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring and advising internal staff about the progress of regulatory policy and rate-related proceedings
• Performing independent analysis of the possible operational impacts of rate cases and regulatory proceedings
• Representing SJCE before regulatory bodies and on external working groups
• Keeping abreast of key regulatory issues affecting CCAs, and assisting in prioritizing proceedings
• Developing formal written comments to regulatory agencies and advising on advocacy strategy
• Working with other internal teams to share and learn relevant information
• Other duties as assigned     

Minimum Qualifications

Education 
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Law, Natural Resources, Statistics, or related field to utility business.

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in energy resources operations, planning, purchasing, scheduling, or contract negotiations.

VTA’s Engineering and Program Delivery (EPD) Division is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for the Quality Assurance (QA) Group under the Technical Services Department.  

Quality Assurance Group: 
The QA Group supports all capital improvement programs for the Division during planning, design, procurement, construction and closeout phases of highway, rail, transit and facilities projects.  As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring delivery of quality products and services for the Division. It is the responsibility of the QA Group to ensure the development of each project’s Contract-specific Quality Management Plan (CQMP) and to conduct audits and surveillances, based on the approved CQMPs, to monitor and assure effective implementation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with VTA staff, consultants and contractors, attention to detail and ability to lead the QA team with day-to-day activities are desirable skill sets.

Under direction, to have charge of varied and difficult engineering work involving the supervision of a professional transportation engineering staff engaged in a variety of activities, such as the planning and design of transportation systems and facilities, the operation of transit systems, special studies or services, and other transportation projects.

• Supervises and directs projects in connection with the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of transportation systems including fixed guideways, highway transit, bicycle, airport, and other facilities;
• Supervises the design function, structural analyses and field surveys;
• Makes traffic engineering studies;
• Conducts transit planning and supervises the scheduling of transit operations;
• Supervises the preparation specifications and related documents used in advertising transportation projects for bids;

Minimum Qualifications:

Employment Standards
Training and experience equivalent to graduation from college with major work in engineering and five years professional engineering experience on transportation systems or projects, including assignments which provided the opportunity to demonstrate supervisory abilities.

Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California in a field related to transportation engineering at the time of appointment.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatrist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Clinic/Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) Department. The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high-quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
   
• Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
   
• Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
   
• Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”).
   
• Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
   
• Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.
   
• May serve on Utilization Review Committee, Medication Review Committee, and chair Peer Review Committee as assigned.
   
• May conduct specialized research, special studies, and services.
   
• Provide medical consultative services to the behavioral health services staff; lead team conferences and provide clinical direction in unit(s) to which assigned.

Position Duties

 

The Energy department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Power Resources Specialist I/II position to support the Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division. This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of Megawatts of renewable energy projects. 

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Develop analytical modeling and reporting for evaluating portfolio-level and enterprise-wide risks, providing insights that strengthen decision making. 
• Define and quantify the risk metric to demonstrate financial risk during extreme, disadvantageous energy market conditions and assess their implications for the organization. 
• Support the creation of scalable risk management tools to track the various operational, financial, strategic, legislative, regulatory risks specific to the energy industry.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess critical energy-sector risks - such as wholesale market fluctuations and evolving regulatory requirements - and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Perform attribution analysis to identify the factors contributing to power portfolio performance and generate insights for strategic decision making.
• Perform sensitivity analyses on key energy-related risk variables using financial modeling techniques to evaluate organizational impact and prepare clear, data-driven reports for management.
• Coordinate with different divisions within the department to identify the key risks across various categories, supporting the development and maintenance of an enterprise risk register.
• Monitor the organization's risk exposure and the effectiveness of existing risk management strategies through continuous data analysis. 
• Evaluate enterprise risks, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with business units to assess, track, and mitigate business-level risks, while informing enterprise-level risk assessment and management.
• Identify emerging operational and financial risks by analyzing internal and external energy-market data to evaluate risk likelihood, impact, exposure, and control effectiveness, providing strategic recommendations to prevent or reduce potential losses.
• Maintain an understanding of existing and new regulatory laws related to California Energy Regulation and assess how policy changes may impact organizational operations and compliance.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong modeling, analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills. The candidate should have effective communication skills, show attention to detail, and be able to work independently. Candidates that are highly collaborative with colleagues and are able to think outside the box are ideal. Experience in energy sector is desirable.
 

The Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division is responsible for providing independent oversight of the risks in transacting for energy products and services as well as ensuring compliance with adopted risk management policies and procedures.  This unit also provides strategic support to facilitate the development and execution of various non-energy contracts, administers signed energy contracts, and manages the invoicing process.

The position will remain open until filled, with the first review of applications on March 13, 2026.

Power Resources Specialist II - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Finance, Law, Natural Resources, Statistics, or an analytical degree related field to utility business AND one (1) year of experience in energy resources operations, planning, purchasing, scheduling, or contract negotiations.

The Code Enforcement Officer will respond to citizen concerns and proactively identify violations such as property maintenance issues, and zoning infractions. You will educate the public on code requirements through clear and respectful communication and work collaboratively with other city departments and external agencies to resolve issues. The Code Enforcement Officer is distinguished from the Supervisor by performing work of moderate difficulty and more routine tasks and duties assigned to this position within this classification series. These tasks involve inspections and enforcement of applicable ordinances pertaining to residential and commercial properties, housing, building construction, and other related regulations. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.
