Accountant II position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of departmental financial operations. By performing core accounting functions-such as recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, processing P-Card reports, and preparing financial schedules-the position ensures compliance with policies, supports transparent reporting, and enables informed decision-making. Their work directly supports the Quarterly Board of Directors' Expense Report and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, both essential for governance and external accountability.

Additionally, the Accountant II strengthens operational stability by assisting with month-end close, preparing audit schedules, and serving as backup to the Senior Accountant, ensuring continuity of the General Ledger function. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform a wide range of professional accounting duties, including analyzing and maintaining accounting records, auditing check payments, and preparing financial reports. Record monthly and annual journal entries for benefit and cost allocations, revenue and expense accruals, and reclassifications. Reconcile asset and liability accounts, as well as subsidiary transactions and reports, to the Infor General Ledger.
• Process employee Purchasing Card (P-Card) expense reports by reviewing transactions for accuracy, ensuring receipts and documentation are complete, checking for proper coding of expenses, compliance with policies and spending limits, reconciling charges, and checking for supervisor approvals and authorization before expenses are recorded. Process claims and fees reimbursements for the Board of Directors. Provide assistance to P-Card users of Infor XM.
• Prepare diverse financial summaries, schedules, footnote disclosures, and reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Examples include the Quarterly Board of Directors' Expense Report and supporting schedules and footnote disclosures for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Enter the Board of Directors' timesheets biweekly. 
• Assist in recording collections and cash receipts.
• Assist with the fiscal period/month-end close procedures to identify inconsistencies, errors, or unusual activities. Prepares audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries.

Ideal Experience:.

Four (4) years of professional accounting experience involving transactions analysis, journal entry preparation,  maintenance of accounting records, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial reports.

• Ability to prepare a variety of clear and concise financial summaries and accounting reports.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Knowledge of governmental accounting and financial management practices in compliance with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

• Knowledge of automated financial systems such as Infor, PeopleSoft, SAP or equivalent.

Ideal Training and Education:

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a related field.

Or

Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).

• Accounts receivable/payable.

• Verifying availability of funds and classification of expenditures.

• Assist in processing debt service obligations, including creating payment schedule, paying annual obligations, posting interest on bonds and notes from statement, updating liability balance, and posting journal entries.
• Review credit cards monthly and ensure that transactions are properly coded and approved.
• Providing technical assistance to the Accountant in preparation of the year-end audit.
• Review, post, balance, reconcile, and maintain accurate and confidential accounting and payroll records.
• Assist in gathering data and preparing monthly financial and statistical reports.
• Verify, post, and record a variety of financial transactions; prepare and maintain databases.
• Maintain a variety of ledgers, registers, and journals according to established accounting policies and procedures; reconcile transactions and account statements; record changes and resolve differences; maintain the accuracy of accounting and financial records.
• Report generation.
• Produce journal entries to post  to the general ledger,
• Accurately prepare employee and vendor payments for retirement and other benefits; submit reportable compensation to CalPERS and process payments; prepare Federal and State tax reports.

Yuba Water Agency is seeking a skilled, detail-driven Construction Inspector II to support major infrastructure projects that protect communities, enhance water reliability, and strengthen the region’s long-term resilience. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact public works—from dam safety improvements to hydropower facilities, and recreation facilities—while contributing to one of California’s most forward-thinking water agencies.

The Construction Inspector II plays a vital part in ensuring that Yuba Water Agency’s capital projects are built safely, accurately, and in full compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position conducts daily field inspections, documents construction progress, verifies contractor work, and collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners. ABOUT THE POSITIONS
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time level I or II (depending on qualifications and experience) Civil Engineer to provide technical assistance within the Public Works Department.  The position is currently focused on the Land Development program but is anticipated to also assist the Capital Projects team.  In Public Works, as an Engineer I/II, you will play a significant role in reviewing, coordinating, and delivering infrastructure improvements associated with private and public development projects. 

In Utilities, you’ll play a key role in developing the necessary infrastructure to provide safe and reliable water and wastewater systems for the City of Gilroy. You will be part of a collaborative team that plans and implements water and wastewater capital projects.  

In these key positions, you will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Civil Engineer and will perform professional or sub-professional engineering work in the field and office. About the Position:  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of facilities maintenance for Midpen’s Administrative Office, including building operations, vehicle fleet inspections, landscaped grounds, parking areas, and various physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, painting, assembly, construction, electrical, data cabling, and security systems.  This unique position has a foundation in older residential property improvements in a rural setting, including spring systems, old style construction including log framing, historic farm building construction, multiple materials and additions to the buildings are all aspects and considerations for repairs and tenant improvements. This position is also responsible for non-routine repairs and improvements at Midpen’s field properties and performs preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will coordinate  and oversee Midpen’s utilization of contractors and act as a point of contact for a wide range  of maintenance and repair tasks. Successful performance in this role requires broad  knowledge of facility maintenance trades and technical principles, as well as a professional background and the ability to effectively collaborate  with other Midpen departments. Work Environment:  This position is part of the  Facilities & Fleet Department and will be required to work onsite Monday through Friday on a 9/80 schedule.  Work will be performed at Midpen’s administrative office in Los Altos, field facilities, and also at residential properties located primarily in the field. About the Position: The Supervising Ranger is a dynamic and impactful leadership role with broad responsibility, exercising sound judgement and meaningful independence, while overseeing patrol operations across Midpen preserves. The position leads and mentors a team of sworn district peace officers, coordinates emergency response efforts, builds positive relationships with the public and key stakeholders, represents the District at public meetings, and works collaboratively with departments throughout the organization.

Successful candidates are people-focused leaders who can inspire and guide staff in both day-to-day operations and critical incidents.  The role calls for clear and effective communication, the ability to work with tact and diplomacy, and a commitment to public safety and resource protection.  Responsibilities also include enforcing applicable laws and regulations; administering first aid, providing Emergency Medical Response as a first responder, operating emergency patrol vehicles and two-way radios; and supporting wildland fire suppression efforts  as needed. Assigned Location: Midpen is currently seeking to fill one Supervising Ranger position, reporting to an Area Superintendent. This assignment is scheduled to begin in July 2026, and will be based at the Foothills Field Office in Cupertino (Address: 501 Rancho San Antonio Drive, Cupertino, CA 95014). The District reserves the right to reassign employees to other locations as staffing and service requirements evolve.

Equivalent to an Associate degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience working in the protection, operation of a park, forest, public recreation area, or the equivalent. Education and/or experience in law enforcement, resource management, natural sciences, park management, or wildland firefighting, is highly desirable.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License (or ability to obtain one upon appointment for candidates possessing an out of state license).
• Possession of a District approved Law Enforcement Training certification.
• Possession of a valid California Penal Code 832 certificate, for appointment as a peace officer.
• Possession of a certificate of completion, or ability to complete, the District’s Field Training Program.
• Possession of a valid Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certificate or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Professional Rescuer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, the level of certification in the Incident Command System courses as specified under the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a District approved Wildland Fire Suppression Training certification.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a POST FTO certificate.

Peace Officer Standards: This position requires the incumbent meet the standards for being a Peace Officer as outlined in Government Code Section 1031. Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced and motivated Area Manager who will plan, organize, manage, oversee, and participate in all activities of the Land Stewardship & Trails Department. This position reports to the Land Stewardship & Trails Manager and oversees 19 staff with four direct reports and seasonal employees. This position will be assigned to the Skyline Area of the District. The Area Manager primarily works in a field office setting, and will attend various meetings and visit District field sites, which may require hiking through steep terrain and wildland areas and driving in remote areas on dirt roads.  General responsibilities include oversight, coordination, and reviews of staff performing maintenance and repair of Midpen’s lands. Valley Water manages 10 dams and surface water reservoirs, three water treatment plants, an advanced recycled water purification center, a state of-the-art water quality laboratory, nearly 400 acres of groundwater recharge ponds, and more than 275 miles of streams. Valley Water provides wholesale water and groundwater management services to local municipalities and private water retailers who deliver drinking water directly to nearly 2 million people in Santa Clara County that stretches 1,300 square miles and encompasses 15 cities and unincorporated areas.

The Staff Analyst position will support the Office of Civic Engagement in implementing the Safe, Clean Water Grants & Partnerships Program under Measure S. This position will be responsible for leading the implementation of the Refill Station Grant funding opportunity (Project F9 Key Performance Indicator #2), with oversight from the Community Benefits Program Administrator. 

The position will provide administrative and analytical support for the Grants & Partnerships Program, which includes the following tasks: application review and evaluation, drafting grant agreements, providing technical assistance to grantees, processing and validating invoice submissions, conducting grantee site visits and closeout tasks for completed projects, developing and writing memos and formal correspondence to grantees and management, tracking data and analytics for the grants program, maintaining the Fluxx grants management system, tracking grantee inquiries, among other duties as required. 

The Staff Analyst may participate in outreach and community engagement events/activities, which may sometimes require working at night and/or on the weekends. Additionally, all Valley Water employees are considered Disaster Service Workers and may be called on to report to an Emergency Operation Center during a disaster.

This position may require occasional visits to school campuses and must submit and pass a tuberculosis test and criminal background check.

Ideal Training and Education:

Equivalent to an Associate’s degree.

Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of two years.
