We are seeking two clinic managers who will operate under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Ambulatory Care. The clinic managers plan, coordinate, direct, manage, supervise and evaluate the full range of programs and services offered at the community-based health clinics; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to clinics; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing clinic services; and provide highly complex staff support to senior-level management. The clinic managers also lead and participate in complex performance improvement activities; develop systems to track the progress of strategic initiatives, departmental operational goals, and communicate progress in key forums; develop productive relationships with labor partners while navigating operational needs and developing and sustaining effective employee engagement processes. The clinic managers exercise direct and indirect supervision over a diversified clinical and support staff team.

The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of clinic operations, particularly in outpatient clinics that offer primary care, adolescent care, and pediatrics, as well as in budgeting and scheduling. The ideal candidates will also be experienced in change management, improving patient satisfaction scores, and continuous process improvement (Lean). Experience in a public/safety net clinic is highly desirable. The ideal candidates will also have the ability to lead complex performance activities.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, coordinate and evaluate the operations and service delivery programs of a regional health clinic or clinics, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.

• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community health care needs.

• Assess the quality of patient care; develop and generate community support for changes or enhancements to service delivery methods; advocate for patients with medical staff to ensure appropriate care is provided.

• Monitor census/patient flow and project future patient care demands; develop staffing schedules and assignments to provide the necessary level and type of care.

• Develop, present, and advocate for clinic funding; administer and monitor the approved budget to ensure the accomplishment of clinic care objectives within budget restrictions.

• Act as liaison between senior-level management, advisory boards and commissions, regulatory bodies, and program staff to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed, and that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of service.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other Health Services Agency staff, County departments, and agencies.

• Consult with other program managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary.

• Act as advocate and spokesperson in the community in support of programs and services; interpret, explain, and direct the enforcement of community health-related standards, codes, and regulations.

• Provide highly complex staff assistance to senior-level management and related commissions and advisory boards on program issues.

• Prepare a wide variety of detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years of administrative or managerial experience in a healthcare delivery, social, or community services organization, including significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, program service delivery, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources, or program evaluation.

San Mateo County Health's Aging and Adult Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the unclassified position of In-Home Supportive Services Social Worker II/III. Social Workers provide a wide variety of welfare services in such areas as information and referral, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, chore services, and other welfare services within the Health and the Human Services Agency.

The current unclassified vacancy is in the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program that provides in-home care for persons who cannot safely remain in their own home without such assistance. The recipients of IHSS are aged, blind and/or disabled and eligible for Medi-Cal. Disabled and/or blind minor children may also be eligible for IHSS. The Social Worker will make a home visit to determine eligibility for the program and to conduct an assessment to determine a range of service hours for particular tasks. The IHSS recipient or guardian is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive. The Social Worker will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits, attend meetings and perform other duties of the position. The Social Worker will work in the San Mateo, CA Aging and Adult Services Office.

This IHSS Social Worker will conduct intake and/or on-going activities for IHSS recipients. Some of those activities include:

• Conduct initial IHSS assessments using a detailed State assessment tool.
• Complete necessary documents, paperwork, and work within different information technology systems.
• Conduct annual reassessments.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS recipients and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.
• Provide education, outreach, and community resources information.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and program integrity to ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Prepare for and attend Fair Hearings.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings or other activities to support San Mateo County's vision for integrated services.
• Maintain oversight of case management needs for a caseload focused on serving IHSS recipients who are minors.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Experience providing clinical assessment for children, youth and adults with disabilities.

Social Workers provide highly skilled, intensive casework services to individuals and their families and provide casework consultation within the department and to outside agencies. Incumbents of positions at this level work with minimal supervision and are expected to have acquired the high degree of assessment skills required to perform care coordination and referral tasks in complex casework areas. Lead supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

This is an unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will for a limited duration, typically associated with grant or other special funding. These positions are not covered by San Mateo County Civil Service Rules; and there is no formal probation period. Experience:

The County of San Mateo Planning & Building Department is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Building Inspector.

Under general supervision, Building Inspectors inspect public and private buildings, structures, and related installations being constructed, altered, or repaired to determine conformance with approved plans and specifications and compliance with applicable laws and ordinances. In addition, Building Inspectors investigate complaints, advise and assist building contractors and property owners on the use of materials and building methods, and coordinate inspections with other agencies and organizations. Specific duties include inspection of plumbing, water, gas, and electrical work as well as general construction work; preparing reports and maintaining records; processing and issuing permits; and minor plan checking.

Building Inspector I is the trainee level class in the Building Inspector series, responsible for learning the tasks and responsibilities involved in the inspection of public and private buildings. This class is distinguished from Building Inspector II/III by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level work under general supervision while learning job tasks, but as experience is gained, incumbents work with greater independence and are given more responsible assignments. Building Inspector II is the journey-level class in the Building Inspector series. Employees at this level are capable of working independently and performing a full range of inspections of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural work as well as general construction.

Building Inspector III is the advanced level class in the Building Inspector series. This class is distinguished from Building Inspector II by the performance of the full range of more complex and difficult inspection activities. San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Process Improvement Manager that plans, oversees, and provides a wide variety of administrative, analytical, and work-flow support on a County-wide level; analyzes practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analysis, feasibility studies, and program evaluation for assigned projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and fiscal records; fosters cooperative working relationships among County departments and acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies; and performs related work as required.

The City of Pacifica is a beautiful coastal community, just south of San Francisco with an exciting opportunity. We are currently hiring an Engineering Intern to join our team. Under general supervision, the new team member will perform sub-professional engineering work involving manual and computer drafting, traffic data gathering, records management, map interpretation and processing, retrieval of information, assist with field surveys, and to do related work as required. This position will assist the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division.

This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position. Hours are limited to less than 1,000 hours per year.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marketing & Administrative Assistant is a creative position that is responsible for assisting the in the Parks & Recreation Services Division inform and promote variety of programs and events.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)

• Assist in developing and preparing a variety of promotional materials to publicize programs, events, and services (flyers, graphics, newsletters, emails, etc.), including taking photos and videos
• Assist with maintaining website content, ensuring accurate and current information is available
• Assist with publications, promotional materials, and articles as requested
• Assist with a wide variety of administrative, recruitment/onboarding, registration, and marketing tasks/projects
• Answers the telephone and assists the general public and City staff, giving information on department and assigned program policies and procedures
• Assist with developing and maintaining spreadsheets
• Assist with registration and collecting fees for various programs and/or facilities
• Scan records, such as documents, files, large plans
• Set up and maintain project files or computer databases as required
• Assist with conducting surveys and performing routine research as requested; may assist with preparing related reports
• May work independently or in a team environment depending on project requirements
• Follow City policies and procedures
• Will be required variable hours including evenings and weekends
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is provided by the Recreation Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Relevant technical skill, education, experience or expertise
• Ability to establish and maintain productive relations and positive attitude toward others
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, be resourceful, flexible and able to work both alone or as a team member
• Use a computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing applications.
• Experience with photography, photo/graphics and/or video editing software is a plus (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie, Google Docs, Capcut, Inshot etc.)

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality
• Must effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting (11166.5 PC)
• Employees are required to be certified in Adult/Child CPR, First Aid, & AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or supervisor approved equivalent. Employees must be certified within 30 days of hire date or prior to the first day of work, whichever occurs earlier.
• Fingerprinting and TB test are required
• Must submit verification of legal right to work in the United States as a condition of employment

SELECTION PROCESS

Qualified applications will be evaluated on the basis of related experience and quality of presentation.

The most highly qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Applicant evaluations may include a written and physical test. Satisfactory candidates will be placed on an eligibility list. Placements are anticipated immediately after the list is established. Some placements may be assigned to emphasize public education as the City's needs require.

Some positions may require a health evaluation.
