Under the direction of the Water Quality Supervisor in the Environmental Compliance Division, the Assistant/Associate Environmental Compliance Analyst (Analyst) plays a critical role in protecting the City’s drinking water supply. This position is primarily responsible for developing and administering the City’s Cross Connection Control Program while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The Analyst should demonstrate discretion and independent judgment, possess strong organizational skills, and have a proven ability to meet strict deadlines. The role requires handling sensitive issues with care and having excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working with the public, regulators, other City departments and other municipal agencies.

With additional experience, the Analyst may also provide analytic, technical, programmatic, and administrative support to a broader range of responsibilities within the Environmental Compliance Division, including other drinking water-related regulations, stormwater quality compliance and wastewater pretreatment.

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. THE POSITION

The Police Captain reports to the Chief of Police and serves as the Department’s second-in-command. The Captain’s direct reports are a Lieutenant, a Detective Sergeant, and a Dispatch/Records Supervisor. • Plan, develop, implement, and manage strategies to reduce resource use and waste, and minimize the City’s environmental footprint.

• Plan, develop and manage activities for electric vehicle support within the City.  

• Lead implementation of City’s climate action plan including tracking, monitoring and reporting of performance metrics and greenhouse gas inventory.

• Promote, gather and communicate sustainability resources and the City’s sustainability efforts within the community.

THE POSITION

The process may include an in-basket exercise, individual interviews, panel interviews and/or other related components.  Only those candidates who have the best combination of qualifications in relation to the requirements and duties of the position will continue in the selection process.
