Under general supervision, Maintenance Assistants perform unskilled/semi-skilled labor and maintenance work. This recruitment is to fill a vacancy in our Wastewater Treatment Plant Division. If selected for our Wastewater Division, you will be working with our Collections division where they focus on conveying wastewater to the treatment plant by cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and other pipeline maintenance tasks.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

• Perform a variety of unskilled/semi-skilled maintenance or custodial duties involving manual labor of facilities.
• Clean and inspect sewer facilities for vandalism or potential hazards.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the Reserve Police Officer is a sworn position assigned to field operations to patrol for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations within the philosophy of community oriented policing.  Incumbents are normally expected to solve most work problems independently and to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions and unusual problems at the entry level and make recommendations at the advanced level.

San Mateo County Health's Public Health Policy & Planning (PHPP) Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian to work in Animal Control and Licensing as a member of the team.
 
The current vacancy is extra help part time 20-hours per week in the Public Health, Policy and Planning Division. The position is stationed in San Mateo, CA, but will travel/drive throughout the County to perform duties of the position.
 
Scheduling is flexible. Daily reporting hours and days of the week may vary according to the needs of the department. Evening and weekend work may be required based on the needs of the organization. This position is a hybrid of remote work as well as field-based at clinics.
 
The Veterinary Wellness Program provides veterinary services to the pets of the unhoused, those in transitional housing, and very low-income San Mateo County residents who are receiving services from San Mateo County. This position works with San Mateo County Health and cross collaborates with other programs within the County. Technical expertise, as well as knowledge of veterinary public health practices, are preferred.
 
San Mateo County is unique in that most of our homeless shelters allow residents to bring their pets with them, not just an emotional support or service animal. One of the barriers for homeless people to get into a shelter with their pets is that their pet must be current on their vaccinations. Within 10 days of a new resident moving into a shelter with a pet, the County veterinarian will meet with the owner and their pet to provide a general exam, the necessary vaccinations and flea control. This position will visit various sites throughout the County on a regular basis, providing vaccines, flea control, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and general exams. In addition, the Veterinarian will travel to various homeless encampments to provide these services and to offer and encourage spaying and neutering of the pets.
 
When pets need additional care, this position will coordinate with local veterinary clinics we contract with for services. These contracts allow us to provide spay and neuter services, dental services, and many other procedures that the pet owner would not otherwise be able to afford. These vital veterinary services keep pets from being relinquished to animal shelters and provides peace of mind for the pet owner. In addition, our veterinary program partners with our Street Medicine Program to provide health care services to the pet owners, which advances San Mateo County’s One Health Concept.
 
This Veterinarian position will be providing technical/subject matter expertise on issues relating to the spread of zoonotic, epizootic, and exotic diseases, as well as consulting on cases of rabies in domestic and wild animals. The position will also act as a liaison between the veterinary community, Veterinary Public Health, California Department of Public Health, and residents of the County.
 
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide lead direction to staff responsible for following prescribed treatment and maintaining treatment records for animals treated.
• Ensure that the highest level of service and care are provided and that changes in animals’ conditions are recorded and properly addressed.
• Examine and evaluate animals, and perform veterinary medical treatments, including vaccinations and preventative treatment as appropriate. 
• Coordinate with local veterinarians and clinic/shelter professionals to arrange spay and neuter surgeries and medical procedures.
• Arrange for care at a contracted veterinary hospital for severely injured, sick or diseased animals and provides full orders for care.
• Establishes and maintains medical records and drug use logs to standards of veterinary practices.
• Ensure that records are in order and complete and prepare written reports as needed; ensures that all State and Federal laws, regulations, accepted standards, are adhered to. 
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of shelter animal health protocols, surgical procedures, and companion animal health issues.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the staff, community, local veterinarians, State Veterinarian. 
• Assist in the monitoring of inventory and ordering of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
• Serve as technical/subject matter expert to answer questions from the County Health Officer, medical community and the general public regarding issues related to/involving animals—including but not limited to researching, recommending, implementing and/or maintaining measures to prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases, epizootic diseases, exotic diseases and disease outbreaks. 
• Serve as a consultant in suspect cases of rabies in domestic and wild animals as well as complex issues deriving from animal bites.
• Review pertinent legislation, regulations, and policies to provide recommendations, especially with regards to vaccination of domestic animals, rabies vaccine exemptions, quarantine/euthanasia of animals exposed to rabies.
• Disseminate relevant information to the local veterinary community as well as to residents of the county. 
• Assist with emergencies and disaster services.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

 
Ideal candidate will possess:
•       Experience working one – two years as a Veterinarian.

• Experience in diagnosing and treating disease, illness, and injuries of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals. 
• Ability to test animals for disease and administer vaccines.
• Ability to evaluate condition and coordinate maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Ability to help ensure the safe storage, access, and use of medications.
• Ability to develop and provide guidance on sanitary protocols, feeding, preventative medicine, and general care to promote the health of all animals.
• Ability to research and prepare medical reports for guidance of management upon request.
• Ability to write grant proposals for funding.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and residents of the community.
• Attend meetings and other meetings as requested or required.
• Obtain continuing education as required and be committed to staying up-to-date technically with industry best practices and applying learned knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partner and contract providers.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This is an extra-help, at-will assignment, paid on an hourly basis. Extra-help hours are dependent on the business needs of the department and therefore work hours may vary from week to week. Extra help employees shall not exceed 1,040 hours of work per fiscal year. Some extra help positions are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Extra help employees are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the assignment.

The Planning and Delivery subdivision of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is responsible for providing a safe, reliable and connected multimodal network. The Project Manager I (PM1) is responsible for the surface level integration of the new CBTC system with SFMTA’s existing traffic signal infrastructure.  The work will include systems engineering to integrate various pieces of infrastructure to ensure compatible functionality (e.g. CBTC can communicate with traffic signal controller software and output the desired signal outcomes). The PM1 should possess expertise in traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including but not limited to: signal timing parameters, traffic signal design, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), network communication protocols and devices, as well as familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the systems engineering architecture and standards established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).  The candidate must also have prior experience overseeing the integration of ITS devices, such as TSP and emergency vehicle preemption, with the D4 traffic signal controller software.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Oversee internal staff and consultants to develop protocols and procedures to integrate CBTC technology with existing traffic signal infrastructure
• Develop calculations for traffic signal timing card changes to reduce transit travel times and improve transit reliability
• Provide direction to staff in the preparation of studies, calculations, designs, drawings, sketches, and plans for a variety of engineering projects using AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and other software tools

How to qualify

1. Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering or planning plus four years of responsible architectural, engineering or construction management experience, OR
2. A Bachelor's Degree in another field plus six years of responsible experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
3. Eight years of architectural, engineering, or construction management experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
4. California registration as professional engineer or architect.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify candidates advancing to the interview process and/or to identify job finalist(s) at the end of the selection process when referred for hiring.

• Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in both Civil and Traffic disciplines
• Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Join San Bruno Community Services, Parks Department as a Lead Maintenance Worker! 

 

The Community Services Department is committed to providing quality programs, services, and spaces to benefit the health and well-being of the community. Within Community Services, the Parks Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance of all City’s outdoor recreation sites, including 20 parks covering 68 acres, 6 baseball fields, 128 acres of open space, all City owned facilities, over 7 miles of medians, and one dog park. 
 

Under the supervision of the Parks Field Supervisor, the Parks Lead Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled tasks and complex assignments in maintenance, repair, and construction work. The Lead Maintenance Worker is a working supervisor position. The position exercises direct supervision over crews engaged in service, maintenance, and repair. Work assignments may also involve considerable skill in various construction and mechanical crafts and the operation of heavy construction and maintenance equipment. 

 

CORE DUTIES

Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Assigns and reviews work of Maintenance Workers I/II and seasonal staff; trains, supervises, and reviews work of assigned staff; provides input into performance evaluations and performance issues.

• Inspects and repairs equipment at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the systems are safe and functioning properly; maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, materials supply, athletic field layouts and surfaces, base positioning and installation, and layouts of field markings.

• Determines and marks the locations of irrigation system wiring and water lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.

• Responds to complaints and resolves problems regarding functional areas such as tree conditions, ball field conditions irrigation system problems, park, building and ball field lighting, water leaks, parks facility issues.

• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools assigned to their area of responsibility by checking equipment and tools and maintaining maintenance records, and refers defects to supervisory staff.

• Safely operates vehicles/equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, soil and sand, concrete, performance of tree work; and other job functions; operates pneumatic tools and power tools.

• Oversees and participates in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including laying pipe, trenching and backfilling, determines safety and playability of sports fields and reports information to their supervisor, prunes trees and shrubs in conformance with established professional practices and safe working methods.

• Applies pesticides and utilizes best Integrated Pest Management practices for assigned areas of responsibility.

• Performs set up of traffic safety work zones utilizing traffic safety control devices as needed for work performed in areas such as medians, right-of ways, streets, and parks.

• Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the best qualified candidates. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a high school diploma or GED, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing field maintenance work similar to that of a Maintenance Worker II with the City of San Bruno. 

 

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license. 

• Possession of a Qualified Pesticide Applicators Certificate. 

 

In addition, the ideal candidate possesses the following competencies:

• Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical or professional knowledge in parks
  maintenance; keeping up with current developments and trends in Community Services; leveraging expert knowledge to accomplish results.

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Fiscal Analyst for the Budget Services office.  

The Senior Fiscal Analyst serves as the lead staff for the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee and its three subcommittees: Funding Methodology, Revenue & Expenditure, and Fiscal Planning, providing comprehensive support for all committee operations. This role manages the Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts program, a fiscal process that assists courts in managing their operational budgets. The analyst also provides budgetary support for the Court Interpreter Program and acts as a key backup to the Senior Fiscal Analyst responsible for the trial court allocations and Workload Formula policy implementation. This position requires advanced, journey-level analytical expertise to manage complex projects and programs, conduct in-depth research, develop fiscal policies and procedures, compose official comprehensive written reports, and serve as a subject matter expert in trial court finance and planning.

The Judicial Council
The Judicial Council of California is the policy setting body for the state court system and has constitutionally conferred statewide rule-making authority. This authority includes developing, advocating for, and allocating the judicial branch budget. A majority of Council members are California state justices and judges; however, the Council also includes lawyers, legislators, and court administrators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as lead staff and provide high-level professional support to the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee, its subcommittees, and working groups. This is one of the most active advisory bodies to the Judicial Council that represents trial court funding priorities and policies. This role involves strategic planning, policy compliance, stakeholder engagement, and administrative coordination to ensure the committee’s operations align with Judicial Council governance standards. 
• Manage the annual submission cycle, analyze funding requests from trial courts, and coordinate the Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts program to ensure compliance, transparency, and effective fiscal oversight. 
• Provide high-level professional support in a backup capacity to the Senior Fiscal Analyst position that oversees the trial court budget allocations of $3 billion annually and the Workload Formula policy. This role collaborates extensively with Judicial Council leadership and trial court representatives to ensure effective governance of trial court funding and policy execution. 
• Provide advanced-level analytical and budgetary support to the Court Interpreter Program. This includes technical assistance to the Language Access Program for annual court interpreter allocations to the trial courts, implementation of budget proposals, and review of reports to the Legislature and other documents. 
• Provide support for the development and implementation of the annual trial court budget. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support trial court operations, ensure fiscal integrity, and support the goals of the Judicial Council. 
• Document and maintain detailed records of operational processes, procedures, and related backup information to ensure clarity and consistency for key budgetary processes that support the trial courts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field, and four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgetary, or contract administration/procurement. 

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field such as accounting, finance, business, etc., may be substituted for one (1) of the years of required experience. An additional four (4) years of professional experience in the assigned function as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. 

OR

Juris doctor, Master of Business Administration, or master’s degree in a directly related field for the assigned discipline such as finance, contract administration or accountancy, and one year of experience as identified above. 

OR 

One (1) year as a Fiscal Analyst in the assigned field with the Judicial Council of California or one (1) year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Fiscal Analyst in a California superior court or California state-level government entity. 

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of California’s state budget process and governmental budgeting practices.
• Strong political acumen and understanding of governmental laws, rules, and policies.
• Experience implementing budgetary policies within government frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerBI.
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to research, analyze, and summarize financial and policy information for diverse audiences.
• Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working independently to achieve organizational goals.
