We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking professional to join our team as Facility Maintenance Manager and lead our dynamic citywide facility maintenance program. In this pivotal role, you’ll work collaboratively with City staff, contractors, community partners, and public facility users with tact, discretion, and professionalism in every interaction. As our Facilities Maintenance Manager, you’ll take the helm in planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing both staff and operations of the Facilities Maintenance Division. POSITION

To assist in planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating recreation programs and events, including but not limited to Teen Programs, Youth Programs, Aquatic Programs, Senior Programs, Adult Programs, promotional events, special events and excursions. The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a vacancy in the Community Services Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. This current position will be assigned to recreation duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate recreation programs, aquatics programs, special recreation events and services; publicize programs, events and services for youth, teens, adults, and seniors. Create activity schedules, budgets and promotional materials. Train, schedule and assign program staff and volunteers; assist in the development of staff evaluations. Assist with coordination and scheduling of the recreation or aquatics programs. Promote and maintain safety in the workplace. Maintain records and statistical data on programs. Issue, secure and maintain program equipment and supplies. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to drive a large van to transport materials, and participants to various activities. Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position, in that employee must be present to work to complete assigned tasks.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

For all work assignments:

• Enforce all rules and regulations and lead youth programs as assigned.
• Teach aquatic programs and perform lifeguard duties as assigned.
• Certify lifeguards when requested.
• Serve as staff in Department programs (i.e., Summer Camp, Senior Programs, Youth Programs, Teen Programs, and Adult Programs).
• Maintain recreation equipment.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

When assigned to Aquatics:

The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible to perform lifeguarding duties, ensuring the safety of patrons, enforcing pool regulations, and responding to emergencies as needed. Additionally, they will need to train, certify, supervise and schedule lifeguards. During operating hours, on-site presence is required to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance.

When assigned to Youth Program(s) (i.e. Teen Programs, Youth Programs, etc.):

The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and supervising youth-oriented programs. Specific duties include: Planning and implementing recreational, educational, and enrichment activities tailored to different age groups. Recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising program staff, volunteers, and instructors. Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing program policies and addressing behavioral issues, as needed. May be required to perform lifeguard duties, as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of increasing responsible experience in the delivery of recreation services. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Licenses or Certificates: Required upon hire: Valid California Driver’s license

Required within six (6) months of hire:

Possession and maintenance of a current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate or equivalent.

Current American Red Cross Community CPR Certificate (or equivalent)

When assigned to aquatics (in addition to recreation programs), the following are required and must be maintained during the course of employment:

Required upon hire: Valid California Driver’s license, American Red Cross Lifeguard Training with CPR and First Aid (or equivalent)

Required within six (6) months of hire: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (or equivalent), American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22 equivalent).

Experience:  At least one (1) year of experience in resource management, parks & recreation, or other relevant customer service positions.

SALARY

$19.25 - $20.25 per hour (based on years of experience)

BENEFITS

All of these positions are temporary/part time. Temporary employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours in a Fiscal Year.

The pay cycle is bi-weekly.  Except for worker's compensation coverage and sick leave accrual, no other benefits are provided. Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.5% to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.

About the Position: Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern in the Information Systems and Technology (IST) Department. The GIS Intern will perform GIS mapping and analysis tasks in support of land acquisition, open space planning, capital improvement, and resource management activities. Basic Requirements: Internships are open to applications from current students or recent graduates (within the last 12 months). Current enrollment in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program, or trade school in a relevant field. Working Conditions/Schedule: This position is based primarily in-office at our Administrative Office in Los Altos, CA, as part of the IST department. While the majority of work will be performed in an office setting, there may be occasional instances of field data collection. These field activities are infrequent but may involve travel in a district vehicle and, at times, working independently in varied outdoor conditions, including remote and rugged terrain with numerous biotic and abiotic hazards during inclement weather. This is a temporary position working 24 – 32 hours per week (within regular business days/hours). Regular business is conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Interns may work up to a total of 950 hours over a 7-to-9-month period. The City of Auburn is hiring for the seasonal, part-time Bus Driver I position in the Auburn Transit Department.

Auburn Transit is looking for qualified individuals to join our transit team. These positions are seasonal, part-time and each has a maximum of 999 hours of work per fiscal year. The incumbent's schedule will be flexible, based on the needs of the department, community transit needs and employee availability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position operates a variety of transit and General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles to transport passengers in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. The incumbent will learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies. 

Auburn Transit provides fixed and on-demand transportation services to the community. In addition to designated bus routes, Auburn Transit works with other local transit agencies to ensure adequate services are provided for school needs and special events. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Bus Driver I is an entry-level classification responsible for routine tasks and operation of specific transit vehicles. It is essential incumbents learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies. The role is performed under direct supervision from the Transportation Supervisor or designee and does not involve supervision over other staff.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Actual work may vary based on department needs or change due to evolving business practices.

• Operates a bus or other General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles on City streets and highways in all weather conditions to transport passengers on established routes with designated stops, on-demand rideshare services, field trips and special events.
• Ensures passenger safety by observing passenger behavior, verifying safety belts are secured and rendering aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Assists passengers boarding and deboarding as needed or requested, including senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and care-dependent persons.
• Operates a smart device and two-radio to respond to transit dispatch and on-demand rideshare requests requiring adjustments to existing schedules and routes.
• Operates automatic wheelchair lifts, collects fares, issues passes, secures wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
• Promptly notifies management and completes reports regarding accidents and incidents involving vehicles and passengers.
• Conducts mandatory daily pre-trip vehicle inspections adhering to state and city regulations before each route, including reporting inspection results, daily trip logs, and required vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Performs minor maintenance, repair and cleaning of transit vehicles and fleet storage facility.
• Adheres to all public transit federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
• Maintains a valid California driver’s license and passenger certifications required by the state vehicle code, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation and other applicable standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
