The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Multipurpose Senior Service Program (MSSP) Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work tasks and duties for older adults living with complex medical conditions to assist them to obtain optimum health, financial, and/or social services. As a member of the Human Services Department, this position reports to a Clinical Supervisor in the Aging and Family Services Division.

This is a regular, part-time position (32 hours/week) and will receive pro-rated benefits.

Examples of Job Duties

• Manage a caseload of 28-32 clients comprised of older individuals with complex medical conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments and develop and monitor service plan.
• Collaborate with team members, Human Services programs, and community agencies.
• Conduct home visits and provide other community interventions.
• Conduct inter-agency and/or family conferences.
• Advocate for clients in accessing services.
• Monitor services provided for each client.
• Maintain timely electronic documentation of services, reporting, and billing.
• Participate in peer chart audits and outside audit preparation.
• Prepare and present training, outreach, and educational sessions and materials.

ABOUT THE POSITION

At a 24 hour a day police dispatch center, you will be using a sophisticated Computer Aided Dispatch terminal. A Communications Dispatcher receives emergency calls from the public requesting police, fire, medical, or other emergency service; determine priority, and dispatch police, or other emergency units as necessary and in accordance with established procedures.

Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.

This part-time, per diem role is responsible for inspecting properties to ensure compliance with wildfire prevention and fuel mitigation requirements. You'll engage with residents, educate the public, and help reduce wildfire risk across the District.

The City of Orinda is looking for responsible, courteous individuals who enjoy working in a hands-on environment, can work independently of supervision and have experience dealing tactfully and effectively with members of the public.  The successful applicant will work on a part time basis with a schedule which will include evening and weekend hours, depending upon programs, rentals and events.   

The Facility Attendant performs custodial duties related to the care and cleaning of assigned facilities, performs a wide variety of duties for events, classes and programs, including setting up and tearing down of tables, chairs, equipment and supplies and will perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting Community Center visitors, serving as a main point of contact during activities and events primarily in evenings, weekends and special events.

Performs custodial duties at assigned facilities which include, but are not limited to cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and polishing floors; cleaning furniture, woodwork, fixtures, equipment, supplies, doors, windows, walls, walkways, driveways, and facility grounds; disposing of trash.

Set up all necessary equipment and furniture such as tables, chairs, podiums, and A/V equipment for indoor and/or outdoor events.

Inspects facilities and equipment, reports issues in a timely manner to appropriate higher-level staff; performs minor facility maintenance.

Explain and follow City and department policies and procedures.

Provide information and feedback to Facility and Parks Supervisor.

Opens, closes, secures and alarms facilities in compliance with standard procedures.

Supervise and interact with rental guests, responding by assisting with any facility needs.

Assists in monitoring and maintaining equipment and supplies.

May perform clean up duties as needed, including but not limited to:  move and arrange furniture and equipment, restroom cleaning, sweeping and mopping, and garbage pick-up and removal.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

Must be willing to work a scheduled variety of hours, which may include evenings, and/or weekends, as needed.

Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to enable the employee to safely lift, move, climb, walk safely on even or uneven grounds, or maneuver in whatever way may be necessary to successfully perform the duties of their position; ability to travel to different sites and locations.

How to qualify

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND

Experience: Four (4) years of experience managing a section with oversight of contract negotiation, administration, operation, or compliance within a large organization, all of which includes experience supervising professionals.

Position Summary

Under general direction, performs responsible professional level engineering and administrative work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects. May lead professional and paraprofessional engineering personnel engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects.  Assist Directing Civil Engineer in training and providing guidance to Junior through Associate Engineer classifications and Inspector classifications. Responsibilities include: developing, coordinating and executing engineering methods and policies affecting a wide range of engineering activities; regular contact with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with complex and difficult engineering  matters; overall oversight and review of detailed and complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications and technical papers; and performs related duties as required.

• Prepares reports, calculations, design plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates and other materials related to the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects and refers them to their supervisor for final approval
• Prepares and refers to the District Engineer or designee, contract documents and agreements for the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects with professional engineering consultants, contractors, utilities and governmental agencies
• Confers with other departments and agencies relative to engineering projects and work programs to ensure proper coordination of all related activities and responsibilities
• Makes field trips and inspections to resolve serious differences of opinion between engineers and contractors' representatives as they relate to design matters
• Conducts and attends conferences and meetings in connection with planning and design of improvement and construction projects
• Ability to use computers including proficiency with spreadsheets
