San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. Currently, there is a Limited-Term, Full-Time vacancy and an Extra-Help, part-time vacancy. 

These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. New or recent graduates with independent outpatient physical therapy work experience or internships are encouraged to apply.

Wastewater System Supervisor

THE POSITION

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a full-time Wastewater System Supervisor who, under general direction, supervises, develops, and directs the work of staff performing difficult and complex technical and administrative support related to all programs and activities of the City’s Treatment Operations and Collection System Maintenance Operations; assists with long- and short-term project planning and overseeing the design, construction, maintenance, and operations of the wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment plant, facilities, and related appurtenances and other programs; works with technical and engineering staff to monitor and maintain water quality in accordance with State requirements; coordinates assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies for services such as meter reading and repair; provides complex and responsible support to the Public Works Director and others in areas of expertise; and performs other duties as assigned.

Incumbent serves as the Division Manager of the City’s Treatment Operations and Collection System Maintenance Operations system. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of wastewater operations, maintenance, and operations staff either directly or through lead workers. The Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) team of the Human Services Agency (HSA) of San Mateo County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II. This current vacancy is a permanent position assigned in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter program. The position is a shared assignment and will be scheduled weekly to work in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter. The schedule of this position will vary and include weekends depending on the needs of the departments.
 
Under supervision, Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II will perform a variety of support activities and supervise the operation of Vocational Rehabilitation Services’ Catering Connection, and WorkCenter. The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is a 15.7 MDG sub-regional facility that serves an estimated 164,545 customers  administering the annual operation and maintenance budget over $12.8 million with a staff of 34 professional and technical personnel.  The City of San Mateo is building a team tasked with the safe and continuous operation of the current expansion of this conventional activated sludge plant by introducing new facilities including; preliminary treatment, primary treatment, enhanced biological nutrient removal/membrane bioreactors (BNR/MBR), biological and chemically enhanced treatment (BioACTIFLO), and additional upgrades to existing process equipment. A vital and instrumental member of this team is the WWTP Operator III.

The Position

This position will receive general direction from the Chief Plant Operator and instruction from their Shift Supervisor to provide daily guidance to lower level operators and trainees. The WWTP Operator III will be responsible for supporting these efforts to guide, develop and mentor staff on their assigned shift, act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, and is the assigned lead in getting both scheduled and unscheduled work completed. Those who have prepared themselves and are ready for the challenge to use their skills as a journey-level wastewater professional should seriously consider this opportunity.

This position is assigned rotating shifts working nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call emergency response 24 hours per day.  However, along with this challenge is the benefit of working  a 12-hour shift that results in a very favorable work/life balance and requires the minimum commuting days as compared to other standard 8-hour shifts.

San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Division is seeking a responsible, innovative leader and skilled clinician for the position of Supervising Mental Health Clinician - East Palo Alto Services. This Supervising Mental Health Clinician will supervise and coordinate the work of mental health professionals and interns in the East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park geographic area in San Mateo County. This position works closely with community members and community providers to develop and sustain programming that is culturally and community responsive.

This position will participate in program administration, planning and evaluation. The Supervising Mental Health Clinician supervises and guides the clinical team who provides services to seriously emotionally disturbed youth and their families, and seriously mentally ill adults. Services provided include: medication assessment and management; individual, group and family therapy; psychological assessment; case management; rehabilitation services; and crisis intervention.

The current vacancy is in the East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center, located in East Palo Alto but will travel throughout San Mateo County for client visits, trainings and meetings.

The East Palo Alto Community Counseling Center offers a unique setting to provide services to a diverse population in a community-oriented clinic.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team that provides clinical outpatient services to adults and children and their families. San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Process Improvement Manager that plans, oversees, and provides a wide variety of administrative, analytical, and work-flow support on a County-wide level; analyzes practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analysis, feasibility studies, and program evaluation for assigned projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and fiscal records; fosters cooperative working relationships among County departments and acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies; and performs related work as required.

Ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience with project management and process improvement as the lead.
• Knowledge and/or experience with: County of San Mateo; Public Health; healthcare clinics; vulnerable population care management including people experiencing homelessness; and HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and other Communicable Diseases.
• Data skills including requirements gathering; ad hoc report building; data and dashboard management.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with information technology systems including Power Business Intelligence (BI); advanced Excel; eClinical Works (eCW); ARIES; Microsoft SharePoint; Epic; Workday reporting.
• Experience with change management, leadership development, and team culture-building.
• Demonstrated ability to be organized, diligent, perseverant, self-starter, independent learner, tenacious, self-reflective.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered on the job and with political astuteness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, economics, planning, finance, or a related field, and five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional administrative and analytical experience in municipal government, including experience in budget, strategic planning, policy analysis, and organizational development.

Licenses and Certifications :

• Some positions may require a valid California driver's license.
