The salary range listed above reflects the full compensation potential for this position. However, initial salary placement will typically be at the lower end of the range and will not exceed 97% of the range maximum. This is a grant funded position that is funded through February 4, 2029.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Join the City of Gilroy and help shape the future of community preparedness, recovery, and resilience. The City is recruiting for a full-time dynamic and forward-thinking Community Resilience Coordinator (CRC) to join the Administration Department in a role that makes a real impact.

In this exciting opportunity, the CRC will lead innovative efforts to strengthen how the City prepares for, responds to, and recovers from natural disasters and emergency situations. Emphasis will be placed on services and programs for populations that are more at-risk during disasters due to lack of resources and education. Additional responsibilities include developing solutions to reduce disaster risks, securing and managing mitigation grant funding, delivering community resilience education and training, and effectively engaging, partnering, and collaborating with a variety of officials, local, state, and federal agencies, businesses, community services, both public and private, concerning the related work and goals of the City. Moreover, the CRC will undertake related special projects with citywide significance, and perform other related duties as required. This position is considered essential personnel during City emergencies and is expected to be available to staff and support the Emergency Operations Center.

This is an exempt, mid-management level position that must exercise competent discretion and judgement in the performance of duties and interactions with others.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City is recruiting for a full-time Housing and Community Services Manager (HCSM) to advance and strengthen the City’s efforts in affordable housing production and preservation, homelessness response, tenant protections, and coordination of supportive services for vulnerable community members. Since the creation of the Housing and Community Services Division, it has become a key part of the City’s strategy to address city-wide housing challenges. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on housing accessibility, homelessness response, and community well-being in Gilroy. 

Under the general direction of the Community Development Director, the HCSM will plan, direct, and oversee the operations and programs of the Housing and Community Services Division and provide leadership and oversight of the development and administration of housing programs and grant-funded initiatives that support long-term housing affordability and stability for residents, including unhoused and at-risk populations. Working collaboratively with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, regional partners, and community stakeholders, the HCSM will help implement innovative housing solutions and advance strategic initiatives aligned with City goals and community priorities.

Additional steps (Step F, Step G, and Step H) included in the salary range listed above are available to employees in this job classification after completion of five years of service (Step F), ten years of service (Step G), and 15 years of service (Step H), and one year at the prior step, and good performance evaluation. Initial salary placement is typically at the entry point of the range unless the candidate has prior Code Enforcement Officer experience which may warrant initial placement at a higher step.

This is a full-time, on-site position, designed for direct collaboration with the team and active participation in daily operations.

This position works varied hours/shifts/days of the week to meet the code enforcement needs of the agency. The regular work schedule may include varied days of the week, including weekends, and work hours (days/swings to 2 a.m.) and overtime availability is required often in the evenings (to include late night hours such as 2 a.m.) or on the weekends for targeted enforcement.

Tasks involve inspections and enforcement of applicable ordinances pertaining to residential and commercial properties, housing, building construction, and other related regulations. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

The Position:

The City of Santa Clara is seeking an experienced, energetic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Senior Inspector supporting the daily operations of the Building Division. This critical role provides both technical expertise and supervisory leadership to ensure the City’s high standards for safety, service, and professionalism are consistently met.

The Senior Inspector is a supervisory-level classification responsible for performing the most complex building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections, while also providing guidance, coordination, and training for less experienced inspectors and support staff. Depending on expertise, incumbents may be assigned to one or more specialty areas, including Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Permit Center, or Code Enforcement. Experience in MEP plan review is highly desirable and may be used to fill one of the two openings. 

This position requires an individual who can operate as a subject-matter expert and exercise sound, independent judgment in daily operations. The role is distinguished from the Inspection Manager classification, which carries broader responsibility for division-wide planning, field operations, and strategic technology initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in building inspection with a city and/or county agency.

Desirable Qualifications

• Depending on position assignment, the required experience and certification may be required in a particular specialty such as building inspection, electrical inspection, or plumbing and mechanical inspection.
• MEP plan review experience.  
• Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience that includes supervising building inspectors.

Licenses/Certificates
 The following are required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment:

• A valid California Class C driver's license.
• Certification as a Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, or Combination Inspector by the International Code Council (ICC) or International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), or equivalent.

Other Requirements

• Required to file a Conflict of Interest statement upon assuming office, annually and upon leaving office, in accordance with City Manager's Directive 100.
• May be required to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job assignment.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Senior Services is responsible for leading the operations, programs, services, and community engagement efforts that support Redwood City’s older adult population. This position oversees a broad range of senior services, including recreation programming, wellness initiatives, social services coordination, special events, facility operations, partnerships, and community outreach, while helping ensure the City’s brand new 45,000 square foot senior center continues to be a welcoming, active, inclusive, and responsive community space.

This role provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of senior services programs and facilities, including staff supervision, budget administration, program development, strategic planning, contract management, and customer service delivery. The Manager works collaboratively across City departments and with community organizations, regional agencies, volunteers, and service providers to support programs and services that enhance quality of life, social connection, health, and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults.

The Manager also serves as a key liaison to community stakeholders and the Senior Affairs commission, helps guide long-range planning efforts related to aging services and ensures programs and services reflect the evolving needs of Redwood City’s diverse senior community.
