The Bridge Patrol Officer works in a fast paced and dynamic 24/7 department with 36 team members to ensure the efficient and effective daily operation and security of the Golden Gate Bridge and associated facilities. Responsibilities include critical infrastructure security, roadway and visitor safety, crisis intervention and suicide prevention, emergency roadway services, traffic management, parking enforcement, revenue collection, and customer service.  The Bridge Patrol Officer serves as a customer contact and organizational ambassador for persons who drive, walk and bicycle the Golden Gate Bridge on a daily basis.

Essential Responsibilities

• Patrols the Bridge and surrounding areas using patrol cars, bicycles, and motorized scooters for the purpose of providing security, suicide prevention/apprehension, and to provide assistance to the public
• Responds to all incidents on the Bridge and its approaches, such as accidents, attempted suicides, body retrieval from the South Tower moat and other areas near the Bridge
• Responds to medical emergencies and first- aid calls
• Enforces District ordinances and regulations on the Bridge and surrounding areas and on other District property
• Conducts preliminary investigations of motor vehicle accidents, suicides, and any other reportable incidents that occur on the Bridge or surrounding area
• Checks the District buildings for physical security
• Coordinates with the California Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies when needed
• Assists in the apprehension of possible suicides
• Assists with traffic and crowd control
• Performs traffic control and issues parking citations
• Operates tower elevators and performs driving duties as assigned
• Maintains positive public relations and performs preliminary investigations of complaints from the public
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job

Overview: 

Valley Water seeks a collaborative, detailed-oriented and customer-service focused individual to join the Water Revenue team as a Management Analyst I. The incumbent will be public facing, engaging with water customers and well owners throughout Santa Clara County. As a member of the Water Revenue team, key responsibilities include generating and processing water bills; providing excellent customer service in person, by phone and via email; ensuring all data is processed and captured in an accurate and timely manner; and collaborating with colleagues. The work is cyclical with periods of high volume (annual, semi-annual, and monthly billing cycles) and technical by nature (i.e., unmetered water customers). Ability to navigate multiple systems in the course of daily work is necessary (i.e., databases, files, billing system, GIS resources); bilingual is a plus. Members of the Water Revenue team occasionally go offsite to perform field checks.

Valley Water is a public agency with an operating and capital budget of $964 million, and over 900 employees. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Customer service: provide exceptional internal and external customer service, in person, by phone, or via email. Engage with well owners, retailers, farmers, and other departments at Valley Water. 
• Revenue collection duties: generate and process bills that may include groundwater, treated water, surface water or recycled water. 
• Technical and detail-oriented: audit all water bills for accuracy. Support other analysts and supervisor as needed. The Water Revenue team manually reviews and audits nearly 6,300 bills each year of which about 80% are for unmetered water customers.
• Administrative tasks: filing, scanning, organizing records, and occasional cashiering duties.

Ideal Experience:

• Two (2) years of experience in revenue collection and customer service.
• Hands-on experience generating, reviewing, and reconciling bills (e.g., water, utilities, or municipal services) with attention to timelines and data integrity.
• Experience with maintaining large datasets, while ensuring accuracy across multiple systems.
• Public sector experience with water districts, utilities, or municipal agencies.

Ideal Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively during high-volume billing cycles with competing deadlines.
• Strong accuracy in data entry, billing calculations, and customer correspondence.
• Ability to understand current procedures and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Ability to navigate between billing software, databases, file management systems, and other internal applications in the regular course of daily work.
• Ability to handle customer inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and clarity (via phone or email, and in person). 
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Bilingual, especially Spanish speaking, is a plus.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Knowledge of financial or billing software.
• Understanding of basic accounting or revenue collection principles.

Ideal Training and Education:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field. 

Substitution:

Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license. Individuals who do not meet the driver's license requirement due to a disability will be considered for a reasonable accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).

Under general supervision, the Ferry Mechanic performs preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, trouble-shooting, repair, and modifications on structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, piping and control systems found on ferry vessels and passenger terminals; performs related work as assigned. Responsibilities include record keeping and written verification of work accomplished.

Salary Range:  
Day Shift:               $56.32 per hour
Swing Shift:           $56.32 per hour + 10% differential pay
Graveyard Shift:    $56.32 per hour + 15% differential pay
 

Essential Responsibilities

• Working with computers on a daily basis for work scheduling, work order entry and work order reporting on the Districts electronic maintenance system in addition to notifications and communications.
• Conducts tests, analyses and measurements as directed to diagnose any unusual, erratic or malfunctioning occurrence in any shipboard or terminal system or component.
• Reports any unusual wear patterns, noise, pressure, temperature, or changes in voltage, current, cycles, resistance or any other indication of potential malfunction.
• References manufacturer schematics including blueprints, drawings and specifications to resolve maintenance issues.
• References parts catalogues and other sources to determine correct parts for specific applications.
• Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs and overhauls as directed.
• Documents and records work performed and parts and materials used in the electronic maintenance system. 
• Reports all safety hazards and corrects unsafe situations immediately where possible.
• Immediately reports to supervisor any potential maintenance problem or condition which could cause a possible schedule delay.

• Operate a forklift and other equipment/vehicles safely.
• Interacts on a regular basis with vessel operations personnel.

1) Public Services Program Coordinator – Community Libraries

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, the Public Services Program Coordinator plans and implements projects to strengthen customer service, safety, staffing, and operational consistency across San Mateo County’s 13 community libraries. The Training / Volunteer Program Coordinator is a project-focused role within San Mateo County Libraries’ Human Resources Division that manages the full lifecycle of staff learning and volunteer engagement. Under the direction of the HR Manager, this position builds, coordinates, and maintains the annual training calendar, coordinates volunteer intake and placements, ensures compliance and accurate records in our training and development system and in our volunteer management system, and uses dashboards, surveys, and reports to drive continuous improvement and recognition across the system.

• Review, update, and oversee public services standards and associated staff training materials.
• Assist with the inventory, management, and coordination of emergency equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate safety and security protocols, including incident reporting guidelines, tracking systems, and follow-up procedures.
• Work closely with the Training & Development Coordinator to develop and deliver training programs to ensure excellent customer service delivery and response to patron incidents.

• Support professional development programs such as LEAD, mentorship, and conference participation; maintain related documentation and budgets.

• Maintain accurate records in a volunteer management system; monitor engagement and retention through regular check-ins and reports.

The City of San Bruno Fire Department offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a Fire Cadet. Our one-year Fire Cadet program is an unpaid, volunteer work experience program that offers hands-on training, and introductory knowledge of firefighting skills, fire service tools and equipment. Cadets respond to emergency calls, render Basic Life Support and participate in training, and participate in the daily station duties.

Cadets must be willing to commit to 24-hour shifts, two to four times per month. The cadet program is one year in length. Upon completion, this program meets the manipulative training and experience requirements in obtaining a California State Fire Marshal’s Office Firefighter II certification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• State of California EMT or National Registry EMT certification
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a driving record with minimal violations
• Possession of a Firefighter I Academy certification (or proof of “student in good standing” letter signed by an Academy Instructor if currently enrolled)
• 18 years of age at the time of application

Position Summary

This position reports directly to the Operations Control Manager, who provides general supervision, guidance, and assistance.  A substantial portion of the dispatcher’s work is assessment of unscheduled events and corrective action follow through.  Dispatcher’s work is evaluated by performance in maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service, dealing with emergency situations, supervision of bus operators, and interaction with bus transportation supervisors.
 
The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to make work assignments to bus operators in accordance with the labor agreement; within a geographic service area, to safely maintain scheduled and unscheduled service. A secondary responsibility is to act as Radio Controller as required.   Position may require working on extended shifts.
The first 6-months will be at a Dispatcher Trainee status. Every two months during training, there will be a step increase as follows:

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops a daily dispatch plan, based on availability of equipment and operators, and modifies the plan as conditions or events change during the day.
• Responsible for maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service at a rate greater than 99% of all schedules while minimizing additional costs of overtime.  
• Possesses the knowledge and interpretation of the labor agreement in scheduling the extra board, making work assignments, and handling a wide variety of operational situations.
• Assists, coordinates, and provides radio contact for bus transportation supervisors in the field, and dispatch them as needed to respond to situations requiring supervisor’s presence.
• Verifies accuracy and functioning of time clocks, check vehicle/operator supplies, reviews daily schedules, and verifies bus operator’s medical card and driver license.
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department invites you to apply for the casual position of Building Attendant. This position requires daytime availability for four-to-six-hour shifts between the hours of 8am and 5pm. A person in this classification will work flexibly, up to 20 hours per week.
