A Dance Instructor (Program Specialist) will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.

Dance programs may include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, folkloric, salsa, and rhythmic international styles.

General supervision is provided by a program coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. The Program Specialist may supervise a part-time aide and/or "counselor in training" in a classroom environment in daily activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Different program areas will have different skills and knowledge requirements for the position; check with Recreation Supervisor. (For example: 6 ECE unites required for pre-school instructor)
• One school year teaching experience
• At least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting
• Must be willing and able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking an experienced Patient Services Specialist (PSS) - Extra-Help.
 
The successful hire will support the clinical team with all registration, eligibility, enrollment, authorization, other administrative tasks, and Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) activities for SMMC. The PSS serves as the ambassador for SMMC to validate information and educate our patients and guests with the financial process upon arrival to the facility. The PSS verifies all demographic information, validates eligibility, obtain authorizations, collects co-payments, assist with all payor notifications and communication, and enroll patients if needed. The hire will be expected to work holidays and rotating weekends, if needed, to support department needs.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terminology and medical insurance requirements to individuals with varying levels of medical knowledge. Additionally, they should have strong skills in conflict resolution and problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will also be able to collaborate effectively with the clinical team, work with challenging patients, and assist those who may have language or communication barriers. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Furthermore, the ideal candidate must be flexible and available for various shifts throughout the week.

NOTE: This is an extra-help, at-will assignment, paid on an hourly basis. Extra-help hours are dependent on the business needs of the department and therefore work hours may vary from week to week. Extra help employees shall not exceed 1,040 hours of work per fiscal year. Some extra help positions are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Extra help employees are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the assignment.

 

Examples Of Duties

• Perform difficult, complex, technical, and/or specialized patient services office support and business office support work, which may require the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skills, and/or a knowledge of detailed or specialized activities related to the area to which assigned.
• Research and assemble information from a variety of sources for the completion of forms or the preparation of reports; make arithmetic or statistical calculations related to the billing for patient medical services.
• Provide information to the public or to County staff regarding fees, insurance coverages, etc., that requires the use of judgment and the application and interpretation of policies, rules or procedures.
• Interview patients to provide information and obtain necessary financial responsibility and personal data.
• Collect co-payments, assist with payor and recodes accounts if needed.

• Oversee and personally perform a variety of office administrative details such as ordering supplies, arranging for the repair of equipment, transmitting information, and keeping reference material up to date.
• May train others in work procedures or direct the work of others on a project or relief basis.
• Check the Patient Access work queues daily to identify accounts that may need immediate attention and resolve them appropriately.

Group Supervisor I ($34.61/hr-$43.24/hr) - Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Group Supervisor II ($39.04/hr-$48.83/hr) - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Selected candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including graveyards, day shift, swing shift, weekends and holidays at any of the Probation Department locations. Selected candidates must also successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprints, medical examination, psychological evaluation, a truth verification test and be free from any physical, emotional or mental condition which might adversely affect the exercise of the powers of a Peace Officer. Felony and misdemeanors convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Group Supervisors hired into permanent positions must pass PC 832 peace officer training and complete a 160 hour STC training course within one year of appointment.

There are currently various vacancies in the Probation Department. Depending on qualifications, the vacancy may be filled at the Group Supervisor I or Group Supervisor II level.

Group Supervisors are responsible for:

• Supervising daily activities of youth in confinement.
• Observing and supervising unstable youth.
• Enforcing security and safety measures including searches of youth and their living quarters for contraband.

• Maintaining a safe environment for the youth and staff.

• Participate in staff conferences.

Qualifications

Group Supervisor I: Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Group Supervisor II: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a class C California driver license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age on or before date of appointment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States by federal law.

AC Transit is seeking a Finance Systems Project Manager. Under general direction serves as the project manager leading a variety of complex, finance systems-related projects. This position works with department end-users, Innovation and Technology (IT) staff, consultants and, vendors to translate business and operational requirements into workable finance system solutions. Incumbents in this position provide training and technical assistance in the use of the system software.

This classification is distinguished from other finance classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, finance systems-related projects and studies of considerable size and complexity. Incumbents at this level are expected to operate with a high degree of professional judgment and independence, providing technical and functional direction to vendors, professional, technical, and contract staff.

REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:
REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to the following:
Assumes responsibility within the finance department for enterprise systems, activities, and operations, including system architecture, applications support, data security and integrity, network and system integration, disaster recovery, and application/user support. Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; recommends and implements resulting policies and procedures.

Oversees the development and delivery of training for end-users, including identifying training needs and determining training methods; plans and oversees change management communications and methods; coordinates departmental implementation of enterprise finance system updates and upgrades.
Analyzes current and future enterprise finance system needs; prioritizes, manages, and oversees system updates and enhancements; develops requests for proposals, selects vendors, and administers contracts; acts as final approver in the change control process. Evaluates system issues and conditions for risk; develops contingency plans to cover various finance systems failure scenarios and application software systems recovery and restoration procedures.

Analyzes testing criteria and results to support development, evaluation, and configuration of existing and new systems.

Works with IT staff on the development and implementation of finance systems security protocols, including policies and procedures on security, disaster recovery, standards, and best practices.
Oversees the finance software and hardware acquisition and procurement process; develops cost estimates for hardware and software components, connectivity solutions, system integrations, and ongoing support, maintenance, and training for assigned systems and databases.

Serves as staff on a variety of committees; consults with District staff and consultants concerning information technology, finance system issues, work progress, and priorities; coordinates and runs periodic meetings; ensures adherence to standards and procedures; presents recommendations for strategic initiatives, long range planning, and process improvements.

Performs project management functions and activities and is responsible for the full lifecycle of the assigned projects overseeing scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards from the project’s inception to completion; manages the activities of outside vendors and contractors.

Provides consultation and professional, technical advice to executive staff, management teams, and other District departments; represents the Department on various external committees and projects.
Prepares and presents a variety of reports on finance operations, activities, and special projects; presents findings to the Board of Directors, executive management, other District staff, and various public and private entities.

Evaluates and recommends professional consulting services for assigned projects; develops and disseminates Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and Invitation For Bids (IFBs) and develops proposal evaluation criteria; assists in the negotiation, preparation, and administration of professional services and contracts; recommends and prepares amendments to professional services contracts.

Prepares, reviews, and maintains a variety of project-related information and documentation, including project schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), status reports, detailing issues, risks, and deliverables; monitors agreements and projects for compliance with relevant codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of project management and market research. Provides technical and functional direction to professional, technical, and contract staff and participates in the formation, planning, review, and management of assigned projects.

Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field directly related to the area to which assigned.
For the Finance Systems Project Manager position the following are applicable fields of study: business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, management information systems, or a related field.

Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in the professional field required by the assigned special projects. The Finance Systems Project Manager position requires accounting support experience utilizing and supporting financial systems and/or two (2) years that involved responsibilities at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Project Manager II. Years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a two for one basis (two years experience may be submitted for one year of education).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Physical Requirements: Must maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting operating a computer, keyboard, and other peripheral equipment; safely drive a District automobile; and walk, stand, and climb short distances in construction settings in order to inspect the progress of assigned projects.

Join our team as a Program Manager of Electronic Revenue Operations, where you’ll lead the oversight and innovation of tolling and Clipper fare systems across bridges, buses, and ferries. This role ensures smooth, secure, and accurate processing in electronic transactions while improving systems that serve the public every day.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and optimize all electronic tolling (AET), fare collection (Clipper), and other revenue operations
• Lead technical troubleshooting, system audits, and revenue tracking from transaction to deposit
• Analyze daily revenue and passenger data trends; provide actionable reporting to leadership
• Coordinate collaborative cross-functional teams including vendors, tech contractors, and internal departments
• Enforce performance standards and compliance with contracts and toll policy
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, vendor oversight, and customer service feedback
• Participate in regional and national tolling committees to represent and enhance District practices
• Support budget development, cost control, and operational upgrades to back-office systems
• Ensure system integrity for out-of-state vehicle tolls, DMV processing, and enforcement collections

Minimum qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, transportation, finance, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 3 years of increasing experience in operations, program or project management, or transaction based systems in relevant industries such as tolling or transportation, financial services, technology/software systems, or logistics. Experience must include program or project oversight, vendor or contractor management, system or data analysis, and customer service.

Preferred:
• Experience with public agencies, tolling systems, or technical program management
• Familiarity with electronic payment systems, DMV processes, and vendor coordination
