DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks is excited to announce the creation of a new Engineering Division Manager position within the Public Works Department. This newly established role, has been created to further strengthen our commitment to infrastructure excellence and service. Unlike similar roles in the City, this position has not been previously filled and offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead a critical division focused on engineering and construction of the City’s critical infrastructure. Depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, this position will be responsible for overseeing complex engineering projects related to the City's water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the continued reliability and advancement of these vital systems. 

The Public Works Department is seeking an innovative and proactive Engineering Division Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the design, engineering and construction management to advance and protect the capital investments in the City’s critical public infrastructure.    

PRIMIARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide leadership to direct engineering and project management activities to advance challenging and comprehensive engineering capital projects.  

• Provide strategic and tactical planning by leveraging knowledge of engineering while aligning with the City’s overall goals.  

• Drive continuous improvement through innovation and optimization of processes and procedures.  

• Have extensive team building skills, be results oriented, and be a seasoned project manager with strong management skills.  

• Work cooperatively with all City departments.

• Developing, implementing, and monitoring long-term plans, budgets, goals and objectives focused on achieving the department’s mission and priorities.

• Managing the preparation of plans, specifications, designs, estimates and schedules, coordinating inspections and project monitoring programs. 

• Making presentations to the Traffic Commission, Planning Commission, and City Council, as well as the public.

Education/Training:

• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

Experience:

• Two years of general maintenance experience performing field maintenance work within the assigned area of responsibility.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Class A driver license within one year (Landscape or Streets) of employment.
• Some positions may require possession of, or ability to obtain, an Electrical Hazards Awareness certificate within one year of employment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR and First Aid certifications within the first six months.
• Additional industry-specific certifications may be required depending on area of assignment.

Education/Training:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in wastewater collection system maintenance or a related field.

Experience:

Four years of wastewater collection system maintenance experience including one year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility.

License or Certificate:

• Possession of , or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California Class B driver's license with Tanker endorsement within the probationary period. 
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Water Environment Association Grade III Certificate within 18 months of employment.

This is one of newer programs within the Marysville Fire Department.  The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for three (3) Seasonal Firefighters.  

For this position, each hour worked will be paid at $16.50, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule, with a maximum of 960 hours per appointment. 

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS 

1. Leadership and Collaboration: Lead the citywide budget process, guide staff, and support senior management in decisions 

2. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare financial reports, analyze data, provide long-term financial forecasting, and provide insight 

3. Capital Improvement Projects Financial Management: Oversee the overall financial management of the City’s capital improvement projects and assist departments with budget administration, financial analysis, and budget adjustments.  

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Budget Officer to play a pivotal leadership role in the Finance Department. This is a unique opportunity to shape the City’s financial planning and guide high-impact initiatives that support citywide service delivery and long-term fiscal sustainability.  

As the strategic leader of the City’s biennial budget process, the Budget Officer collaborates with all departments, provides key insights to executive leadership, and ensures transparent, data-informed decision-making. With the City currently implementing a new budget software, the successful candidate will take ownership of the system and be responsible for producing the final budget documents in both print and digital formats. As part of this effort, the Budget Officer will lead a refresh of the City’s performance measures, working with departments to integrate meaningful, outcome-focused metrics into the budget. 

The City is preparing to undertake a comprehensive ERP system replacement, and the Budget Officer will serve as a key member of the implementation team, helping to shape financial functionality and ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget Strategy, Development, and Reporting 

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s biennial Operating and Capital Improvement budgets  

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s biennial User Fees, Fines, and Penalties Schedule 

• Lead the development and administration of the City’s annual Cost Allocation Plan  

• Collaborate with departments to align financial resources with City goals and priorities 

• Develop multi-year financial forecasts and monitor trends to support long-term planning  

• Write clear, concise, and effective staff reports to communicate complex financial information to City leadership and the public 

• Prepare and present budget reports and other financial information for internal and external stakeholders 

System Implementation and Innovation 

• Take ownership of the City’s new budget software system and the development of the online and PDF versions of the Adopted Operating and CIP budgets  

• Streamline and improve the City’s Monthly Financial Report  

• Play a key role in the planning and implementation of the City’s future ERP system replacement 

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative processes 

 Financial Reporting & Capital Management 

• Oversee capital asset budgeting and coordinate with departments on project funding and tracking  

• Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership 

• Develop tools and reports to improve transparency and decision-making across the organization 

Leadership & Collaboration 

• Supervise and mentor direct report(s), fostering ownership, accountability, and professional growth  

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director and senior management 

• Coordinate cross-departmental efforts and facilitate a collaborative, service-oriented budget process 

Communication & Training 

• Deliver clear and effective presentations to staff, senior management, and City Council on budgetary reports, issues, policies, and financial data

• Translate complex financial concepts inaccessible information for non-financial audiences  

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

We have an excellent opportunity in the Building Division for the position of Plan Check Assistant!

We are seeking a customer service-oriented individual with the competence and experience to address challenges with confidence and professionalism. The Plan Check Assistant performs a range of duties in reviewing and checking building construction plans (residential, commercial, and industrial) for compliance with all applicable State and City codes. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Read and interpret architectural and structural engineering plans to ensure conformance with the California codes, structural design codes, and local municipal codes.  

• Respond to inquiries from, and provide information to architects, engineers, contractors, building designers, homeowners, and the general public regarding project status, plan checking, and other code-related issues  

• Provide assistance at the public service counter (over-the-counter plan checking, code and permit fee questions)  

• Perform routine engineering analysis and calculations  

• Approve over-the-counter plan revisions to issued permits  

The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision. The Social Worker III and the Social Worker III – Master’s Level are the advanced journey-level classes in the general social work series.
