Currently we have one Full-time Regular vacancy for a Spanish Speaking Psychiatric Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist in Daly City. Experienced clinicians and those looking to gain experience are encouraged to apply.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidates will possess: 

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;
• Experience/interest in providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness;
• Experience/interest in delivering services to adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders;
• Experience/interest in delivering services in specialty areas for adults and older adults and/or transitional age youth;
• Excellent documentation skills: progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.;
• Demonstrated expertise, skill and interest in working with a broad range of clients of diverse cultures and backgrounds, such as Latino, Pacific Islander, African American, and LGBTQ, and an ability to provide culturally appropriate and proficient services;
• Skill in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with families, co-workers, other professionals, collaborative partners and the public;
• Extensive knowledge of/interest in learning the available community resources within the County of San Mateo and its neighboring counties;
• Experience/interest in using electronic health/medical record systems (e.g. AVATAR, SOARIAN)
• Fluency in any of the threshold languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) or Russian; and experience providing clinical services using bilingual skills.

Licensure/Certification

Psychiatric Social Worker I: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker. An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the date of original registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker issued by the State of California.

Psychiatric Social Worker II: Current California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Marriage & Family Therapist I: Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. An individual hired in this classification must become licensed within six years from the original date of registration employment as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the State of California.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department invites you to apply for the casual position of Building Attendant. About the Division
 
The Parking Division resides within Transportation and Parking Operations and provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at meeting the needs of businesses, downtown employees, visitors, convention, cultural and sports facilities, special
events, schools and residents. Services include:
 

• Operations and maintenance of the City’s public parking facilities: eight garages and six surface lots totaling over 7,000 parking spaces, and 2,500 on-street metered parking spaces utilizing smart meter, and multi-space meter technologies.
   
• Management of vendor contracts, including a Parking Operations vendor responsible for day-to-day management of off-street facilities and Security vendor responsible for parking facility security and parking enforcement field investigations.
   
• Parking compliance activities supporting traffic safety, street cleanliness and maintenance activities, turnover of on-street spaces in business districts; and enhanced neighborhood quality-of-life through the removal of vehicles abandoned or stored in the public right-of-way.
   
• Collection of fines from parking citations and oversight of administrative review process for contested citations.
   
• Development and implementation of transportation and parking operation plans for a variety of special events, including provision of traffic control during events.
   
• Staff support to the Downtown Parking Board. The Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the City Council and serves as a public forum for discussion of downtown parking issues.
   
• The 24-25 fiscal year operating budget for the Parking Division’s services includes revenue projections of approximately $12 million from lots/garages and $3 million from on-street meters. The Division is supported by nearly 90 employees, both professional staff that lead programs, implement projects, and perform analytical administrative work; and field staff that provides parking compliance and meter collections/repair services. 

Position Duties

 
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is looking to potentially fill three (3) vacancies for Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator. Each role has a distinct focus: one  leads the on-street vehicle abatement efforts, another oversees on-street enforcement programs, and the third manages the daily operations of off-street parking lots and garages.
 
On-Street Vehicle Abatement Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator 
The On-Street Vehicle Abatement Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator is a newly created position within the Division, reporting to the Vehicle Abatement Parking Manager. This role will oversee the launch and management of the City’s initiative to address vehicle blight and maintain street cleanliness across the City.

New Program Services Include:

• Oversee the citywide enforcement of oversized and lived-in vehicles.
• Lead efforts to inventory oversized and lived-in vehicles parked on streets citywide.
• Analyze data to develop and implement a site/location prioritization strategy.
• Manage internal and external outreach, including delivering presentations to community stakeholders.
• Implement temporary and permanent parking restrictions, such as tow-away zones.
• Oversee enforcement activities, including towing, enhanced cleaning, and street-sweeping in designated zones/areas.
• Track program progress and outcomes, providing regular status reports.
• Manage interdepartmental relationships to ensure the program’s success.

Under direction, the On-Street Vehicle Abatement Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator performs complex professional, analytical, and administrative work in the development, implementation, and management of parking programs and contracts related to on-street parking enforcement operations.

This role includes one direct report—a Parking and Traffic Control Supervisor—and oversees eighteen (18) indirect reports, comprising two (2) Senior Parking and Traffic Control Officers (Sr. PTCOs) and sixteen (16) PTCOs.

The successful candidate will lead, manage, and motivate a team of nineteen (19) staff members by setting clear goals, fostering an innovative work environment, maximizing staff development, and recognizing achievements appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the Parking Compliance Unit’s Vehicle Abatement Program.
• Serve as the City’s primary liaison for Council office staff and constituents regarding oversized vehicle and vehicle abatement concerns.
• Manage parking compliance and enforcement activities in alignment with the San Jose Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code.
• Analyze on-street parking conditions and assist in establishing appropriate parking controls.
• Manage program budgets and fiscal activities effectively.
• Provide staff support and collaborate with committees, boards, task forces, community groups, associations, and interdepartmental teams.
• Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of new parking ordinances, resolutions, requests for proposals (RFPs), agreements, and City Council memorandums related to on-street parking services.
• Analyze data to optimize the use and enforcement of on-street parking.
• Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance appraisal of staff within the Parking Compliance Unit (PCU) and support the Vehicle Abatement Parking Manager in developing and managing Standard Operating Procedures across the unit.
• Perform routine audits of program operations, evaluate processes to identify improvement opportunities, and assist with the planning and execution of short- and long-term parking planning projects and programs.
• Support procurement processes within the Parking Division by developing Scopes of Service for RFPs and RFBs and develop reports and presentations for community meetings and other stakeholder groups.
• Manage vendor 
• Navigate political decision-making processes and City procedures effectively.
• Assist with program reporting to Council/Committees, including the Transportation & Environment Committee (T&E).

 
On-Street Enforcement Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator 
The On-Street Enforcement Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator reports to the On-Street Parking Manager and is responsible for managing and operating the City’s PCU and Meter Shop. The PCU oversees citywide enforcement of parking regulations and provides various services, including proactive patrols, school safety, residential permit enforcement, and street sweeping. The Meter Shop handles the installation, maintenance, and revenue collection for approximately 2,500 on-street parking meters.
This position has two (2) direct reports: a Parking and Traffic Control Supervisor and a Senior Maintenance Worker, and oversees forty-seven (47) indirect reports, including four (4) Senior Parking and Traffic Control Officers (Sr. PTCOs), thirty-six (36) PTCOs, one (1) Staff Specialist, and six (6) Maintenance Workers.

The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of employees engaged in parking enforcement and meter operations through subordinate supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the Parking Compliance Unit (PCU) and Meter Shop.
• Serve as the primary liaison for Council office staff and constituents regarding general parking enforcement concerns, and manage internal and external outreach, including presentations to community stakeholders.

The Off-Street Parking/Ground Transportation Administrator focuses on managing the day-to-day operations of eight parking garages and six surface lots, totaling approximately 7,300 parking spaces, primarily in Downtown San José. The position reports to the Off-Street Parking Manager and oversees a Parking and Traffic Control Supervisor.
 
The successful candidate will lead a team that works closely with Downtown businesses and residents, community groups, associations, Council Offices, the Downtown Parking Board, the Convention Center and Cultural Facilities operator, and other City departments to deliver off-street parking services. They will ensure that the off-street parking program consistently provides the highest level of customer service, minimizes costs, and maximizes cash flow to the City.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage agreements and contracts related to off-street parking operations, including major projects like facade and elevator modernization, and security program analysis.
• Lead and manage off-street parking staff by establishing goals, fostering an innovative work environment, maximizing development opportunities, and providing appropriate recognition.
• Work directly with Downtown businesses, community groups, Council Offices, and other stakeholders to deliver effective off-street parking services.
• Oversee the maintenance and security of parking facilities and the parking guidance system, ensuring optimal operation.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic people to work within our After School Sports and Mobile Recreation programs operated out of Red Morton Community Center. The hours of this position could be Monday through Friday, from 3:30pm-8:30pm during the school year, but nighttime and weekend hours will be mandatory depending on special events and program needs. During the spring and summer, duties will include, but are not limited to, serving as a head coach within our Junior Dribblers basketball program and leading mobile recreation activities at various parks and school sites. This position will report directly to the After School Sports Coordinator.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Provide gym/field oversite and coordination at various gyms and school sites within Redwood City; act in the capacity of lead scorekeeper or field supervisor; train new scorekeepers and/or field attendants as needed; possess a firm understanding of league rules and policies; ensure that games and practices operated in a safe, inclusive environment; report any issues immediately to After School Sports Coordinator; address all parent or league issues in a timely and professional manner; maintain and care for all sports and mobile rec equipment; follow departmental and city-wide rules and regulations as they relate to the supervision of sports program and general work procedures; assist with other programs within the Parks & Recreation Department, including but not limited to, facilities, special events, and other youth programs.

The Department

The South San Francisco Fire Department provides its residents with service in fire suppression; first-responder and ambulance transport emergency medical services; hazardous materials response; urban search and rescue; marine rescue and fire prevention, investigation and public education. The Department operates five (5) fire stations throughout the City, plus an Emergency Operations Center and Fire Training Tower and is comprised of 92 dedicated staff members.

The Position

Program Assistant - Receptionist

Salary Range: $18.52 - $30.68/hour, depending on experience.

DEFINITION

Perform a wide variety of general clerical and/ or operational support duties at the Danville Community Center and/ or Senior Center. Incumbent serves as the facility receptionist, assisting with customer service-related questions and issues, and directing callers and visitors according to established procedures.

SUPERVISION

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic people to work within our After School Sports and Mobile Recreation programs operated out of Red Morton Community Center. The hours of this position could be Monday through Friday, from 3:30pm-8:30pm during the school year, but nighttime and weekend hours will be mandatory depending on special events and program needs. During the spring and summer, duties will include, but are not limited to, serving as an assistant coach within our Junior Dribblers basketball program and assisting with mobile recreation activities at various parks and school sites. This position will work under the gym/field supervisor and report directly to the After School Sports Coordinator.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following: work as a field attendant in our flag football leagues; work as a scorekeeper in our volleyball and basketball leagues; possess a firm understanding of league rules and policies; ensure that games and practices operated in a safe, inclusive environment; report any issues immediately to gym/ field supervisor and/or After School Sports Coordinator; address all parent and coaches in a professional manner; maintain and care for all sports and mobile rec equipment; follow departmental and city-wide rules and regulations as they relate to the supervision of sports program and general work procedures; assist with other programs within the Parks & Recreation Department, including but not limited to, facilities, special events, and other youth programs.

The Human Resources Administrator (Classification & Compensation) reports to the Director, Human Resources and is responsible for administering the District’s classification and compensation categorization system including performing highly confidential and professional level analytical work and advanced data analysis. This position makes recommendations based on studies and market data for professional-level administrative positions within the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), Peninsula Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) agencies. 

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Plan, develop, and administer the District’s classification and compensation program. 

• Gather, consolidate, and analyze complex qualitative, quantitative, confidential and sensitive data, datasets, and information from multiple sources. 

• Serve as the subject matter expert in classification and compensation, market salary data, and salary studies, providing information and recommendations to management. 

• Provides leadership in change management related to classification and compensation including communication with District staff on updated Human Resources policies and procedures. 

• Assists with People & Culture Group programs including benefits, recruitment, civil rights, and employee relations by providing data and information relating to compensation and classification. 

• Responsible for developing, updating, and communicating policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the area of administration. 

Examples of Duties:

• Provide classification and compensation support to the HR Director and Caltrain HR Business Partner.

• Conduct review of classification descriptions and determine an appropriate level of compensation based on market data comparators and internal alignment.

• Independently and proactively identify trends and insights for recommendations. 

• Monitor state and federal policy updates, new technology, or updated methodology related to classification and compensation and communicate changes to relevant departments and staff. 

• Prepares presentations, reports, and data visualizations to support findings and present information in a clear and concise manner. 

• Analyze and interpret large datasets and information. 

• Leads meetings to present salary and budget recommendations, policy updates, and individual results with staff, management, and consultants. 

• Performs periodic audits of the classification and compensation evaluation system, ensuring data quality and control, consistent and fair application, and 

• Maintains reports, manuals, datasets and files. 

• Manages the work of outside consultants, scheduling meetings with necessary administrative staff, and supporting the information gathering and decision-making process. 

• Assess and review compensation and classification policies and procedures for improvements.

• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Associate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or directly related field. 

• Five (5) years full-time, progressively responsible experience in classification, data and/or information analysis in a professional business setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to use initiative and independent judgment, work with interruptions and changing priorities, organize work and follow-up assignments with minimal supervision.  

• Public sector experience preferred. 

• Experience providing analytical support to a human resources function preferred.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic high school students to train and work within our After School Sports Program as a flag football, volleyball, or basketball official. On game days, youth referees will be partnered with experienced officials that will provide training and mentorship. Youth officials will typically work two days a week. Game days and times are Monday through Thursday, from 3:45pm-7pm.

Official’s shirt, whistle, and training resources are provided. All training is provided by the Silicon Valley Sports Officials Association. Training dates will vary based on sport and season and will include classroom and hands-on instruction.

Flag Football and Volleyball Training Season - APPLICATIONS DUE BY AUGUST 1

• Training - Mid-August – September
• League games begin the last week of September – second week of November

Basketball Training Season - APPLICATIONS DUE BY SEPTEMBER 15

• Training - Mid-September - November
• League Games begin the first week of December – third week of March

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Attendance at all training sessions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of technical duties to ensure accurate and timely data entry and processing of various financial records; documents financial transactions in general ledger accounts; reconciles bank, accounting and payroll data; analyzes journal
• Develops and implements plans for daily/regularly-scheduled park irrigation maintenance; installs, repairs and maintains irrigation equipment, as necessary.
• Establishes water budgets for each park facility; audits and calculates park/facility water usage, analyzes and interprets data and provides monthly reports.
• Investigates and develops new methods and/or improvements to existing methods that result in effective management and conservation strategies of limited water resources.
• Evaluates and makes recommendations, provides technical expertise to District staff, and provides reports to supervisor regarding water conservation objectives.

• Assists in the design and makes water usage/conservation recommendations for new parks/ rehabilitation projects.
• Assists in seeking grants for water efficiency devices.

Certificates and Licenses:
