 The Accounting and General Services Specialist III position is in the Public Works Department. This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties in support of fiscal and accounting procedures, including budget preparation and auditing a variety of financial records under limited supervision. San Juan Water District Seeks a Customer Service Technician

The Customer Service Technician is responsible to provide customer service and support to the public, responding to inquiries and complaints, receiving and processing payments and fees, and assisting with new connection and permit applications.  The District can hire at the I or II level, depending on experience. 

Duties Include:

• Providing customer service in person, by phone, and electronically; responding to inquiries and complaints regarding utility services, rate structures, billing, payments, hydrant permits, and service orders.
• Receiving, processing, and documenting customer utility payments, fees, and reimbursements; processing payments received by mail, phone, in person, and electronically.
• Assisting in resolving water-related service complaints.
• Maintaining customer accounts by monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of account information.
• Providing estimates to title companies when properties are being sold.
• Preparing, tracking, and assigning work orders related to leaks, service line breaks, water quality concerns, pressure issues, meter replacements, and time-and-material tracked services.

• Preparing Will Serve letters, assigning meters, and assisting applicants with the application process.

To be considered, candidates should be knowledgeable of principles and practices of customer service, methods for cash handling and reconciliation, and billing and account management procedures. 

The qualifications include:

I level:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent 

II level:

• Two semesters of college level coursework or two years of experience related to business or accounting 

AND

• One year of responsible experience equivalent to a Customer Service Technician I. 

Both levels:

• Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's class C license.

The salary range for the I level is $30.42 - $36.50 and for the II level $33.60 - $40.32, depending on qualifications. Program Assistant: Adults and Seniors

Salary Range: $18.52 - $30.68/hour, depending on experience.

DEFINITION

Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs, events, and services in a designated area of Recreation Arts and Community Services. Provides highly organized and responsible administrative and programmatic support to the Program Coordinator, including assistance with internal programs, volunteer coordination, and preparation of the quarterly activity guide, etc. Recommends and coordinates the purchase of program supplies and equipment. Helps foster and maintain positive relationships within the community to enhance program offerings and engagement.

• This is a part-time, temporary, at-will, non-benefited position.
• Flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends; not-to-exceed 950 hours per calendar year.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs, events, and services for older adults.
• Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Program Coordinator and Supervisor, including internal events, volunteer programs, and special initiatives such as Buzz Sessions.
• Deliver excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, processing registrations, and assisting with facility reservations and general front desk operations at the Danville Senior Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be at least 18 years old.  Receive satisfactory results from a background investigation and fingerprinting. Provide written proof of a negative TB test before the appointment.

Knowledge of:

• Recreational programs, developmentally appropriate group activities, and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Record keeping practices and procedures; office practices, procedures, and equipment.

Ability to:

• Pay attention to detail and accuracy within events and programming.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and members of the public.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Experience:

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Fiscal Analyst for the Budget Services office.  

The Senior Fiscal Analyst serves as the lead staff for the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee and its three subcommittees: Funding Methodology, Revenue & Expenditure, and Fiscal Planning, providing comprehensive support for all committee operations. This role manages the Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts program, a fiscal process that assists courts in managing their operational budgets. The analyst also provides budgetary support for the Court Interpreter Program and acts as a key backup to the Senior Fiscal Analyst responsible for the trial court allocations and Workload Formula policy implementation. This position requires advanced, journey-level analytical expertise to manage complex projects and programs, conduct in-depth research, develop fiscal policies and procedures, compose official comprehensive written reports, and serve as a subject matter expert in trial court finance and planning.

The Judicial Council

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as lead staff and provide high-level professional support to the Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee, its subcommittees, and working groups. This is one of the most active advisory bodies to the Judicial Council that represents trial court funding priorities and policies. This role involves strategic planning, policy compliance, stakeholder engagement, and administrative coordination to ensure the committee’s operations align with Judicial Council governance standards. 
• Manage the annual submission cycle, analyze funding requests from trial courts, and coordinate the Funds Held on Behalf of the Trial Courts program to ensure compliance, transparency, and effective fiscal oversight. 
• Provide high-level professional support in a backup capacity to the Senior Fiscal Analyst position that oversees the trial court budget allocations of $3 billion annually and the Workload Formula policy. This role collaborates extensively with Judicial Council leadership and trial court representatives to ensure effective governance of trial court funding and policy execution. 
• Provide advanced-level analytical and budgetary support to the Court Interpreter Program. This includes technical assistance to the Language Access Program for annual court interpreter allocations to the trial courts, implementation of budget proposals, and review of reports to the Legislature and other documents. 
• Provide support for the development and implementation of the annual trial court budget. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support trial court operations, ensure fiscal integrity, and support the goals of the Judicial Council. 
• Document and maintain detailed records of operational processes, procedures, and related backup information to ensure clarity and consistency for key budgetary processes that support the trial courts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field, and four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgetary, or contract administration/procurement. 

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field such as accounting, finance, business, etc., may be substituted for one (1) of the years of required experience. An additional four (4) years of professional experience in the assigned function as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. 

OR

Juris doctor, Master of Business Administration, or master’s degree in a directly related field for the assigned discipline such as finance, contract administration or accountancy, and one year of experience as identified above. 

OR 

One (1) year as a Fiscal Analyst in the assigned field with the Judicial Council of California or one (1) year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Fiscal Analyst in a California superior court or California state-level government entity. 

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of California’s state budget process and governmental budgeting practices.
• Strong political acumen and understanding of governmental laws, rules, and policies.
• Experience implementing budgetary policies within government frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerBI.

This position provides a variety of administrative and operational support functions while also providing customer service to customers of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, the Human Services Assistant will support the Information and Referral/Emergency Services Program that provides vital safety net, homelessness intervention, and homelessness prevention services to low-income families, single parents, seniors, disabled persons, persons experiencing homelessness, and individuals seeking assistance in meeting their basic needs and strengthening their economic self-sufficiency.

This is a non-benefited, casual (temporary) position, scheduled to work flexibly, 10-20 hours per week.

The Policy Advisor for Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) leads on all matters related to the County’s social services, public health, behavioral health, and child and senior welfare programs. This individual tracks policies, advocates for equitable investments in District 1, and helps design board actions that enhance public health, general welfare, and access to medical care and social support systems. This position reports to the Director of Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze HHSA initiatives and county programs related to the safety net, public health, behavioral health, homeless service, housing development, child welfare, and services for seniors and people with disabilities.
• Draft policy memos, board letters, and recommendations to address systemic inequities.
• Draft talking points and speeches that communicate the elected’s policies, priorities, and vision to constituents, stakeholders, and community leaders.
• Serve as a liaison to County departments, community-based organizations, and health justice advocates.
• Conduct research and communicate policy ideas in support of the elected’s legislative agenda.
• Coordinate with the Director of Community Engagement to elevate on-the-ground feedback.
• Provide support to the elected at community events coordinating scheduling, logistics, and constituent engagement.
• Track state and federal funding streams relevant to HHSA priorities.

The Multimedia Designer is responsible for shaping the visual identity and public-facing content of the Office of Supervisor Paloma Aguirre. This creative role includes capturing and producing photos and videos, managing graphic design, and overseeing the visual design and functionality of the Supervisor’s website and digital communications. The ideal candidate has strong creative and technical skills and is committed to community-centered storytelling. This position reports to the Director of Communications. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, capture, and edit photography and video content for events, announcements, and social media.
• Design flyers, infographics, reports, and branded materials for public distribution.
• Maintain and update the website's visual layout, graphic assets, and visual consistency.
• Collaborate with the Communications Director and Digital Communications Specialist to ensure brand alignment across platforms.
• Archive and catalog media content for future use.
• Assist with livestreaming, lighting, audio, and other media production tasks at press conferences and events.
• Assist with rapid-response visual content during breaking news, emergencies, or policy rollouts.
• Create culturally competent and community-informed visual content that reflects the diversity of the district.
