The City of Thousand Oaks is currently accepting applications to fill 3 part-time openings in the Public Works department: 2 in our Water division and 1 in our Wastewater division. Under supervision, the Public Works Utilities Aide (Hourly City Worker) will perform a variety of duties in support of Public Works staff.

Part-time work schedules are approximately 20-25 hour per week and may not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities vary based on the division.

Water:
Assist with a variety of routine assignments and day-to-day tasks under the guidance of the Public Works utilities maintenance team, including:

• Fire hydrant maintenance
• Valve exercise program
• Air-Vac and blow-off maintenance
• Maintenance at the Municipal Service Center (MSC)'s pump station and reservoirs
• Inputting data into the MSC's work order system, MaintStar
• Meter reading, changing out meter registers and cellular endpoints, and moving to an AMI reading system

Wastewater:
Assist with a variety of routine assignments and day-to-day tasks under the guidance of the Public Works utilities maintenance team, including:

• Hydro cleaning maintenance
• CCTV inspections
• Canyon inspections
• Maintenance hole inspections
• Lift station maintenance
• Entering maintenance activity data into GIS, MaintStar, ArcGIS, and WinCan systems

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing complex capital improvement projects, conducting hydraulic studies, and performing advanced technical engineering tasks related to the planning, design, and construction of waterworks facilities. Key responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a range of water infrastructure and public works projects, such as:

• Water main line replacements

The Senior Engineer works under the general supervision of a higher-level professional engineer and provides lead supervision to assigned engineering staff, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery of projects.

                             MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training: 

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or architecture with specialized course work related to area of assignment.

Experience: 

• Four years of professional engineering experience related to area of assignment including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory responsibility.

License or Certificate: 

• Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California, or a licensed Architect in the State of California (when assigned to Building & Safety).
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license.

DEFINITION
Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, manages, and provides administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Administrative Services Department, including Human Resources, Clerk of the Board and Risk Management; formulates departmental policies, goals, and directives; coordinates assigned activities with officials and outside agencies; fosters cooperative working relationships among Agency departments and with intergovernmental, regulatory agencies, and various public and private groups; provides highly responsible and complex professional assistance to the General Manager in coordinating and directing Agency-wide departmental activities and operations and in executing the long-term vision for the Agency; and performs related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives administrative direction from the General Manager. Exercises supervision over management, supervisory, professional, technical, and administrative support staff through subordinate levels of supervision. 

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is a department director classification that oversees, directs, and participates in all activities of the Administrative Services Department, including short- and long-term planning as well as development and administration of departmental policies, procedures, and services. This class provides assistance to the General Manager in a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities. DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks is excited to announce the creation of a new Engineering Division Manager position within the Public Works Department. This newly established role, has been created to further strengthen our commitment to infrastructure excellence and service. Unlike similar roles in the City, this position has not been previously filled and offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead a critical division focused on engineering and construction of the City’s critical infrastructure. The Public Works Department is seeking an innovative and proactive Engineering Division Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the design, engineering and construction management to advance and protect the capital investments in the City’s critical public infrastructure.

The City is currently accepting applications to fill several part-time, hourly positions to work in the theatres at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center.  Under the direction of the Technical Supervisors and the theatre department leads, the Stagehands assist with a variety of tasks related to theatre operations and maintenance.  The schedule will involve working up to 19 hours per week, depending on assignment.  The schedule includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.  On occasion, the position may involve working additional hours in a week.

Primary responsibilities:  

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of theatre sound, lighting, and/or rigging systems during rehearsals, performances, concerts, and meetings
• Assist in loading, unloading, fabrication, installation, and operation of lighting, sound, wardrobe and rigging systems and manipulation of props in theatrical settings
• Perform heavy manual labor

THE POSITION

The Assistant County Counsel performs a wide range of complex and high-level legal work with significant independence and discretion. This executive-level position serves as a key member of the County Counsel team and is responsible for overseeing and providing legal services on a broad spectrum of matters. The Assistant County Counsel regularly exercises sound judgment in managing assignments with minimal supervision and plays a critical role in supporting the strategic objectives of the department. This is a full-time at-will position and scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.  

EXPERIENCE:
Five years of experience in professional legal work, including or supplemented by three years of practice of public law is desired.

EDUCATION:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School.

LICENSE or CERTIFICATE: 
Current member in the State Bar of California. 
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate California driver’s license.

Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial tasks and provides oversight of rental groups, in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patrons and prospective participants on the phone and in-person

Minimum Qualifications:
