The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

Wastewater Operator II

$ 47.36 – $56.56 Hourly

$3,789 – $4,525 Biweekly 

Wastewater Operator II - A journey level classification in the Wastewater Operator series. The ideal candidate must be skilled in basic principles of mechanical, maintenance, and electrical systems. Must be able to recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating situations. Must have working knowledge of the functions and purpose of wastewater disposal systems; routine cleaning and basic operation of wastewater treatment equipment. Must have knowledge of algebra and geometry as required to perform the responsibilities of the position; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics. Must have excellent communication skills, work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work, and have a dedication to safe working practices. Must be able to work on-call as assigned. Work independently, as needed. 

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of full-time experience in a wastewater treatment facility in a position equivalent to a Wastewater Operator I. Possession of a Grade II California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California Water Resources Control Board.

Wastewater Operator III

Wastewater Operator III-An advanced level classification in the Wastewater Operator series. The ideal candidate  must be skilled in inspecting, operating, and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant and related lift stations including primary, secondary, tertiary and solids treatment processes. Must be able to recognize inefficient, unusual, or dangerous operating conditions. Solid experience in basic principles of mechanical, maintenance, and electrical systems; algebra and geometry; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics.  Must have good trouble shooting skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, training and leadership abilities, and have a dedication to safe working practices. Must be able to independently perform plant operations work; work on-call as assigned.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of full-time experience equivalent to a Wastewater Operator II in a  wastewater treatment facility.  Possession of a Grade III California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California Water Resources Control Board.   

The Office Assistant II performs general clerical duties related to filing, reception, form processing, record maintenance, mail, typing or data entry; obtains and compares information related to department records, programs, and services; and performs related work as required at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency. Specific duties include collecting, sorting, scanning, posting, delivering and picking up mail, correspondence, and documents for all divisions of the agency, driving a van approximately 100 miles per day on a planned courier route within a specific time schedule. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Performs routine clerical work as required, which may include copying and filing documents, indexing, processing daily in-coming and out-going mail, faxing information, assembling materials, etc.
• Answers the telephone; provides information and assistance to callers or routes calls to appropriate staff person; takes messages as necessary. Greets and assists office visitors.
• Compiles information and data as requested for use in reports and management decision-making.
• Enters a variety of departmental data into computer; retrieves data as necessary; operates printer and other peripheral equipment as needed.

About the Position:

The County of Yuba is currently accepting applications for Building Inspector I/II/III in the Building Department of the Community Development & Services Agency. This is a multi-level class series in which incumbents may be assigned to any one of the three levels depending on organizational needs, professional experience, individual expertise and skill, proficiency gained and complexity of assignments. The Building Inspector series is flexibly staffed through level III.

Building Inspector I – Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn structural, framing, plumbing, electrical, energy consumption, disability access, zoning, and related codes and inspection techniques. As experience is gained, inspections become more complex and are performed under more general supervision. This is the entry level in the building inspection series.   

Building Inspector II – Under limited supervision, this is the journey level in this class series, fully qualified to independently perform diverse inspections. This is the journey level in the building inspection series.  

Building Inspector III – is the advanced journey/lead level in this class series. Incumbents at this level receive general supervision as new or unusual situations arise. As employees progress through these levels, they will be assigned more complex, difficult and/or contentious inspections.

Building Inspector I:

• Perform basic principles and practices of the Building Department for inspections, investigations, code interpretation, permit application intake, review and permit issuance, including record keeping and case management.  Also learns zoning, land use, fire-safe and water quality related regulations.
• Inspect new and existing residential properties, and other building and construction elements for conformance to codes, regulations, plans, specifications and standards related to foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing and other structural and functional elements.
• Maintain professional development and continuing education activities, study for and pass certification exams to maintain certification requirements.

Building Inspector II:

• Learn inspection practices and procedures for non-residential commercial and industrial projects, new and existing.
• Perform inspections of new and existing buildings, building and construction elements and structures with limited supervision.
• Investigate complaints regarding existing buildings or new construction to determine if code violations or problem conditions exist; resolve problems or refer them to the supervisor for resolution.

Building Inspector III:

• Provide lead direction, training and work review to professional and technical staff; organize and assign work, set priorities and follow-up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work; provide input into performance evaluations.
• Perform plan reviews and field inspections of a complex and difficult nature; respond to highly sensitive, complex, or technical complaints; make on-site visits to validate the nature of the complaint and recommend solutions.
• Independently perform full range of Building Inspection duties including conducting and documenting multiple inspections; maintain accurate and separate records for each inspection.

Building Attendant I/II

Part-Time Position - No Benefits

The Belmont Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for part-time Building Attendants. Building Attendants provide operational supervision of facilities during the absence of full-time staff.

Building Attendant I - This is the entry level class in the Building Attendant series.  Incumbents in this class work under close supervision.  As experience is gained, incumbents may be granted more independence of action under established guidelines.

Building Attendant II - This is the journey level class in the Building Attendant series. Incumbents are expected to work independently in the absence of close supervision.

Central County Fire Department is looking for Firefighter/Paramedics (Lateral)!

• Laterals must have two (2) years of continuous firefighting experience to apply/qualify.

The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to  respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. The position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides individual, group, and family counseling on a variety of mental health problems and substance use disorders; develops treatment plans; provides follow-up counseling and assists patients with the resolution of problems.
• Observes patients on-site at schools, etc., as necessary; conducts home visits as necessary. Participates in outreach activities, providing information to the community regarding prevention, intervention, and education.
• Provides psychotherapy to children and adult clients or their relatives through individual or group therapy methods.

Edison Clinic provides comprehensive patient-centered HIV primary care services to persons living with HIV (PLWH) within San Mateo County as well as provides services in diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to all San Mateo county residents. The Mobile Health Clinic/Street and Field Medicine program provides field-based medical care focusing on homeless, formerly incarcerated, and farmworker/farmworker family member individuals. Basic Examples of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Patrols an assigned area of the City by car, foot or as designated by the Police Chief, divisional commander or line supervisor.
• Maintains law and order, responds to emergencies as directed by radio and telephone.
• Investigates unusual or suspicious conditions, directs traffic, investigates traffic accidents, administers first aid, gives assistance to the injured.
• Makes arrests, serves subpoenas and warrants, guards prisoners, conducts interviews, notes and report unsafe conditions, prepares evidence and appears in court, searches for stolen property and lost persons.
• Gives information to the public regarding laws, ordinances, traffic safety, directions and available public services, issues citations to traffic violators, writes reports of daily activities and action taken.
• Investigates vice conditions, analyzes facts, clues and evidence and makes investigations to determine law violators and their whereabouts.
• Maintains effective working relationships with other law enforcement agencies, employees and the public.
• Operates the radio and other communication equipment, protects the life, property, public order and constitutional rights of all citizens.
• Adheres to the California Peace Officers Standards and Training Code of Ethics.
• Works varying hours and days of the week.
• May take on additional duties as requested, such as field training officer or instructor in one or more areas including, but not limited to firearms, defensive tactics, hostage negotiations and canine handling.

This position performs a variety of work in the monitoring of county, state and federal detainees and maintains the security and safety of inmates and staff.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Performs booking procedures, including receiving, booking and assigning prisoners to cells; performing body searches; fingerprinting, and photographing prisoners, etc.
• Maintains custody of prisoners’ private property.
• Maintains the safe and orderly operation of the County jail facility; monitors security cameras and door warning lights; screens and monitors visitors. Inspects all of inmates’ incoming and outgoing mail and telegrams.
• Inspects facilities regularly.
• Monitors the condition and activities of prisoners.
• Prepares prisoners for court appearances; provides transportation as necessary.
• Administers First Aid in emergency situations.
