San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.
• Scheduling patients in the procedure clinic.  
• Updating the pre-op process sheet and clinic schedule in the computer.
• Entering data into the operative database.
• Interfacing between the Operating Room and Surgeon.
• Ability to schedule patients using the OR manager program.

Role Description

As a Clinical Psychologist for the County Adult Assistance Program(CAAP), you will conduct professional-level work in screening and assessing CalWORKS and CAAP clients to identify and document disabling mental health conditions and associated functional limitations that enable them to qualify for Social Security Benefits.

Essential Duties Include:

• Conducts screening and assessment of clients with mental health related complaints, collateral interviews with primary care and behavioral health staff, and medical records review to support clients’ application for Social Security Benefits.
• Selects, administers, scores, and interprets appropriate psychological tests of intelligence, personality, aptitude, achievement, interest and other specialized areas and conducts diagnostic clinical interviews with emotionally disturbed, mentally ill, chemically dependent, and intellectually disabled adults to assess their impairments to provide medical evidence in support of clients’ application for Social Security Benefits as needed.
• Prepares psychological reports presenting diagnostic findings, interview findings, functional assessments, clinical evaluations, and recommendations for the Clients’ SSI eligibility.
• Reviews and evaluates psychological, psychiatric and/or neuropsychological data and case material.
• Provides education, consultation, and information to community providers, and CAAP’s multi-disciplinary team on adult adjustment problems, mental illness, chemical dependence, culturally relevant services, and other topics related to SSI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial diagnostic evaluation noting behavioral symptoms which may indicate organic and/or mental disorders in children and in interpersonal/ family dysfunctions related to child and adult patients/clients.

The Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) team of the Human Services Agency (HSA) of San Mateo County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II. This current vacancy is a permanent position assigned in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter program. The position is a shared assignment and will be scheduled weekly to work in Catering Connection and/or the WorkCenter. Under supervision, Rehabilitation Production Supervisor I/II will perform a variety of support activities and supervise the operation of Vocational Rehabilitation Services’ Catering Connection, and WorkCenter. San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Strategic Projects Manager. This management position will report to the Public Health Clinics Manager, overseeing Edison Clinics and Mobile Clinics and will have broad project management responsibility for key strategic efforts affecting the Public Health clinics.

The CARE Program is seeking two (2) dedicated clinicians to evaluate clients for CARE Court eligibility and serve as expert witnesses in court proceedings. This initiative, established under the CARE Act, aims to provide essential community-based behavioral health services and support through a revolutionary civil court process.

As a CARE clinician, you'll play a pivotal role in conducting assessments, crafting voluntary CARE agreements or court-ordered CARE plans, and linking clients to vital resources.
