The Human Resources Administrator (Classification & Compensation) reports to the Director, Human Resources and is responsible for administering the District’s classification and compensation categorization system including performing highly confidential and professional level analytical work and advanced data analysis. This position makes recommendations based on studies and market data for professional-level administrative positions within the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), Peninsula Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) agencies. 

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Plan, develop, and administer the District’s classification and compensation program. 

• Gather, consolidate, and analyze complex qualitative, quantitative, confidential and sensitive data, datasets, and information from multiple sources. 

• Serve as the subject matter expert in classification and compensation, market salary data, and salary studies, providing information and recommendations to management. 

• Provides leadership in change management related to classification and compensation including communication with District staff on updated Human Resources policies and procedures. 

• Assists with People & Culture Group programs including benefits, recruitment, civil rights, and employee relations by providing data and information relating to compensation and classification. 

• Responsible for developing, updating, and communicating policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the area of administration. 

Examples of Duties:

• Provide classification and compensation support to the HR Director and Caltrain HR Business Partner.

• Conduct review of classification descriptions and determine an appropriate level of compensation based on market data comparators and internal alignment.

• Independently and proactively identify trends and insights for recommendations. 

• Monitor state and federal policy updates, new technology, or updated methodology related to classification and compensation and communicate changes to relevant departments and staff. 

• Prepares presentations, reports, and data visualizations to support findings and present information in a clear and concise manner. 

• Analyze and interpret large datasets and information. 

• Leads meetings to present salary and budget recommendations, policy updates, and individual results with staff, management, and consultants. 

• Performs periodic audits of the classification and compensation evaluation system, ensuring data quality and control, consistent and fair application, and 

• Maintains reports, manuals, datasets and files. 

• Manages the work of outside consultants, scheduling meetings with necessary administrative staff, and supporting the information gathering and decision-making process. 

• Assess and review compensation and classification policies and procedures for improvements.

• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Associate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or directly related field. 

• Five (5) years full-time, progressively responsible experience in classification, data and/or information analysis in a professional business setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to use initiative and independent judgment, work with interruptions and changing priorities, organize work and follow-up assignments with minimal supervision.  

• Public sector experience preferred. 

• Experience providing analytical support to a human resources function preferred. 

The City of Burlingame currently has one opening for a Public Arts Commission Intern. 

Working directly with the City Librarian and with input from an Arts Commission Task Force, the City of Burlingame is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assess the current stock of public art and research, evaluate, and recommend a comprehensive public facing online cataloging software for public art in the City. This role requires a unique blend of some basic database/software testing skills, basic art interest, and the ability to project manage and present a solution at the end of 8 weeks.  This is an in-person internship program which is a temporary position with a flexible schedule not to exceed 8 to 10 weeks of employment.

THE IDEAL PUBLIC ART INTERNSHIP CANDIDATE WILL:

• Demonstrate a proactive, energetic, and organized approach to efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. 

•  Have strong research and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.

• Have strong organizational and project management skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively.

• Be able to learn new technology quickly.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidates will possess: 

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;

• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;

GENERAL INFO

Under general supervision, the Recreation Leader I/II provides essential support to recreation programs and services by performing custodial tasks, event setup and teardown, program support, and minor maintenance duties at various facilities, including parks and community centers. · Strength is needed to lift and carry recreation equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time; and flexibility to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects

· Responsibilities include keeping score for youth, recreation, and middle school sporting events using various digital and analog forms of tracking methods

· Track score of youth sporting events via scoreboard technology or statistics booklet

· Organize, track and set-up specific sports equipment (i.e. volleyball poles and nets, basketball hoops and benches)

· Receives general supervision from the Youth and Adult Sports Coordinator

Employment Standards

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the position is qualifying. A typical way to meet the qualifications is:

• Education:
  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or public administration, or a closely related field is desirable.
   

• Experience:
  A minimum of one year of technical or professional experience in human resources is highly desirable. Experience in a public sector setting is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications:
