The Clinical Supervisor I position will report to the Wellness Center Manager and will provide administrative and clinical supervision for 4-8 interns year-round.

• Coordinate and oversee the operational activities as they pertain to the Master of Social Work (MSW) Student Internship Program;

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the field internship curriculum for 1st and 2nd year MSW interns;

• Assist with required monthly, quarterly reports, annual updates and other analysis and evaluations for assigned projects by analyzing and interpreting program data.

• Develop Wellness Center programming that is responsive, relevant and focused on promoting recovery and wellbeing for families and persons living with the impact of mental illness; including crisis intervention and special projects

• Collaborate with persons with lived experience, Tri-City communities, agencies, schools and local advocacy organizations;

• Recommend project updates to correspond with consumer and community needs, funding, and available resources.

Position Summary

Under general direction, performs responsible professional level engineering and administrative work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects. May lead professional and paraprofessional engineering personnel engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects.  Assist Directing Civil Engineer in training and providing guidance to Junior through Associate Engineer classifications and Inspector classifications. Responsibilities include: developing, coordinating and executing engineering methods and policies affecting a wide range of engineering activities; regular contact with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities and contractors in connection with complex and difficult engineering  matters; overall oversight and review of detailed and complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications and technical papers; and performs related duties as required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepares reports, calculations, design plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates and other materials related to the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects and refers them to their supervisor for final approval
• Prepares and refers to the District Engineer or designee, contract documents and agreements for the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects with professional engineering consultants, contractors, utilities and governmental agencies
• Confers with other departments and agencies relative to engineering projects and work programs to ensure proper coordination of all related activities and responsibilities
• Makes field trips and inspections to resolve serious differences of opinion between engineers and contractors' representatives as they relate to design matters
• Conducts and attends conferences and meetings in connection with planning and design of improvement and construction projects
• Ability to use computers including proficiency with spreadsheets
• Prepares and leads the preparation of a variety of engineering calculations, data and reports in connection with planning, development, and construction of projects
• Makes oral presentations

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
• Five years' progressively responsible experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, contract preparation, related phases of engineering and inspection of construction projects.
• Experience as a lead engineer desirable.

Required Licenses and/or Certification:

• Registration (P.E. license) as a Civil Engineer in the state of California.   Must have a PE license as a Civil Engineer for at least 5 years.
• Must possess and maintain a current and satisfactory driving record. No reckless driving and DUI within the last 7 years. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.  Operates District vehicles on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements:  

Must inspect construction work on the Golden Gate Bridge, other structures and buildings, climb scaffolds, catwalks and ladders. Work from heights. Work outside in all weather conditions.  Work over water.  Carry harness and test or inspection equipment. Occasionally enter into trenches and other excavations. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Routine use of computer, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to travel to District facilities.

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Psychologist I/II-Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. 

There is currently one vacancy on the Central County Adult Mental Health Clinic team in San Mateo.

 

In this position, the psychologist will work as part of a dynamic, multicultural and multidisciplinary team, supporting our culturally diverse San Mateo residents who are diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illnesses and Co-Occurring Disorders.

This Psychologist will conduct admission assessments and evaluation, provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and rehabilitation services to a caseload of adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness.  The Psychologist will also support the psychology doctoral student program and the MSW/MFT graduated internship program at the clinic and provide students with supervision and provide clinical consultation. The Psychologist will work with the team in appropriate discharge planning and coordination of care with other community based organizations.
 
In this position, the psychologist will also administer psychological testing to a small number of clients referred from other BHRS Adult outpatient clinics.

Psychologist I is the entry level class in the Psychologist series, providing professional psychological diagnostic and therapeutic services in a county program. This class is flexibly staffed with Psychologist II and incumbents are expected to advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating the required proficiency.
 
Psychologist II is the fully experienced journey level class in the Psychologist series providing a full range of professional psychodiagnostic, psychotherapeutic, consultant and training and research work in a comprehensive community mental health program with a high degree of skill and independence.

San Mateo County Health's Aging and Adult Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of In-Home Supportive Services Social Worker II/III. Social Workers provide a wide variety of welfare services in such areas as information and referral, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, chore services, and other welfare services within the Health and the Human Services Agency.
 
The current vacancy is in the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program that provides in-home care for persons who cannot safely remain in their own home without such assistance. The recipients of IHSS are aged, blind and/or disabled and eligible for Medi-Cal. Disabled and/or blind minor children may also be eligible for IHSS. The Social Worker will make a home visit to determine eligibility for the program and to conduct an assessment to determine a range of service hours for particular tasks. The IHSS recipient or guardian is the IHSS employer and is responsible for hiring and supervising a provider for the care they receive.  The Social Worker will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits, attend meetings and perform other duties of the position.  The Social Worker will work in the San Mateo, CA Aging and Adult Services Office.
 
This IHSS Social Worker will conduct intake and/or on-going activities for IHSS recipients. Some of those activities include:
 

• Conduct initial IHSS assessments using a detailed State assessment tool.
• Complete necessary documents, paperwork, and work within different information technology systems.
• Conduct annual reassessments.
• Educate, support, and perform administrative duties for IHSS recipients and care providers to understand/comply with program regulations.
• Provide education, outreach, and community resources information.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and program integrity to ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Prepare for and attend Fair Hearings.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings or other activities to support San Mateo County's vision for integrated services.
• Maintain oversight of case management needs for a caseload focused on serving IHSS recipients who are minors.
• Collaborate and facilitate service with care providers and other partner agencies.

SALARY
Social Worker II:   $6,564.13 - $8,205.60/month
Social Worker III:  $7,741.07 - $9,673.73/month

Social Workers provide highly skilled, intensive casework services to individuals and their families and provide casework consultation within the department and to outside agencies.  Incumbents of positions at this level work with minimal supervision and are expected to have acquired the high degree of assessment skills required to perform care coordination and referral tasks in complex casework areas. Lead supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances dictate.

THE TRAINEE POSITION:

Is designed to attend a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)-certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy and receive the academic and physical training resulting in graduation and certification required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

This classification is structured for the purpose of becoming a sworn police officer.  Police Officer Trainees are hired into this position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST-certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy.  Prior to performing a variety of professional law enforcement duties which include police patrol, investigation, traffic regulation, and related law enforcement activities. 

Upon successful completion of training at the academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer position, Police Officer Trainees will be sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer at the beginning of the following pay period.  

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Attend a POST-certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy designed to provide an overview of the criminal justice system including knowledge of laws, police procedures, law enforcement techniques, first aid and physical fitness.

Receive training to develop an awareness of Police Department functions, as well as the responsibilities of Police Officers and how those responsibilities relate to field operations.

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Role description

Under general supervision, assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems or networks consisting of a combination that may include mainframes, mini-computers, personal computers, mobile devices, LANS, WANs, servers, data storage and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together as an enterprise networking backbone. 

The 1042 Security Engineer is the journey level position in the Engineer series. The class is distinguished from the Senior level by the complexity of the tasks, projects or duties assigned, and is more independent than the Assistant level. This classification performs a wide range of complex analytical, design, planning, implementation, enhancement and problem resolution tasks on large complex systems and networks. Works within a framework of established procedures and interprets policies, procedures and guidelines. This level may formulate recommendations consistent with directives, policies, standards and regulations. Incumbents require only occasional instruction or assistance. Work is reviewed upon completion and for overall results. Serves as a technical architect and systems integrator for large complex systems or networks, with a focus on securing vulnerabilities and reducing risk of system and/or asset compromises.

Essential Duties:
 

1. Determine requirements for the development environment and / or enhancement for large complex systems that serve HSA’s programs. May research and conduct feasibility studies on new technologies.
2. Design, plan, integrate, test, implement, document and enhance large complex systems. This may involve the analysis, coding (.NET C#, Cold Fusion), web application design, database design, and evaluation of systems software, hardware and communications strategies.
3. Perform systems integration for interoperability over dissimilar platforms and technologies. This may involve the integration of various protocols and systems software.
4. Determine the proper installation parameters for software for smooth integration and efficiency in relation to the enterprise system and network.
5. Write code to customize large systems software which may involve specialized programming languages.
6. Read and understand requirements documentation and other documentation in order to write code to implement the required features for application systems.
7. Analyze, detect, identify and correct complex systems software or hardware deficiencies. Analyze, research and debug program logic and systems; modify program logic; analyze service requests for system changes or new requirements to determine the most effective approach and the appropriate staff time required to achieve the needed modification.
8. Provide emergency technical support for application issues to ensure system availability and data integrity. May provide on-call support to ensure rapid recovery from software or hardware problems for mission-critical systems and networks.
9. Act as the liaison between vendors, technical support hot-lines and departments to resolve complex systems. Coordinate and implement corrective measures; this may involve site visits, telephone assistance, remote systems and participation in technical committees.
10. Facilitate the demonstration and training of staff in the use of new hardware or software products.
11. Document procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems software and hardware; develop technical documentation and review documentation prior to general distribution.
12. Plan, develop and implement backup and recovery procedures for large systems.
13. Communicate with managers regarding system performance and operational issues. Suggest improvements to management.
14. Research and test new software technologies; report results; recommend software purchases. Learn and implement the new technologies that are brought in. Coordinate and work with vendors when needed. 
15. Attend meetings, workshops, and demonstrations; perform duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must be able to recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating situations. Must have working knowledge of the functions and purpose of wastewater disposal systems; routine cleaning and basic operation of wastewater treatment equipment. Must have knowledge of algebra and geometry as required to perform the responsibilities of the position; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics. Must have excellent communication skills, work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work, and have a dedication to safe working practices. Must be able to work on-call as assigned. Work independently, as needed. 

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of full-time experience in a wastewater treatment facility in a position equivalent to a Wastewater Operator I. Possession of a Grade II California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California Water Resources Control Board.

Wastewater Operator III

Wastewater Operator III-An advanced level classification in the Wastewater Operator series. The ideal candidate  must be skilled in inspecting, operating, and maintaining a wastewater treatment plant and related lift stations including primary, secondary, tertiary and solids treatment processes. Must be able to recognize inefficient, unusual, or dangerous operating conditions. Solid experience in basic principles of mechanical, maintenance, and electrical systems; algebra and geometry; basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics.  Must have good trouble shooting skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, training and leadership abilities, and have a dedication to safe working practices. Must be able to independently perform plant operations work; work on-call as assigned.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of full-time experience equivalent to a Wastewater Operator II in a  wastewater treatment facility.  Possession of a Grade III California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the State of California Water Resources Control Board.   

Building Attendant I/II

The Belmont Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for part-time Building Attendants. Building Attendants provide operational supervision of facilities during the absence of full-time staff.

Building Attendant I - This is the entry level class in the Building Attendant series.  Incumbents in this class work under close supervision.  As experience is gained, incumbents may be granted more independence of action under established guidelines.

Building Attendant II - This is the journey level class in the Building Attendant series. Incumbents are expected to work independently in the absence of close supervision.
