The role of Clinics Manager is integral to the mission and vision of San Mateo Medical Center. We are seeking two clinic managers who will operate under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Ambulatory Care. The clinic managers plan, coordinate, direct, manage, supervise and evaluate the full range of programs and services offered at the community-based health clinics; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to clinics; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing clinic services; and provide highly complex staff support to senior-level management. The clinic managers also lead and participate in complex performance improvement activities; develop systems to track the progress of strategic initiatives, departmental operational goals, and communicate progress in key forums; develop productive relationships with labor partners while navigating operational needs and developing and sustaining effective employee engagement processes. The clinic managers exercise direct and indirect supervision over a diversified clinical and support staff team.

The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of clinic operations, particularly in outpatient clinics that offer primary care, adolescent care, and pediatrics, as well as in budgeting and scheduling. The ideal candidates will also be experienced in change management, improving patient satisfaction scores, and continuous process improvement (Lean). Experience in a public/safety net clinic is highly desirable. The ideal candidates will also have the ability to lead complex performance activities.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, coordinate and evaluate the operations and service delivery programs of a regional health clinic or clinics, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.

• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community health care needs.

• Assess the quality of patient care; develop and generate community support for changes or enhancements to service delivery methods; advocate for patients with medical staff to ensure appropriate care is provided.

• Monitor census/patient flow and project future patient care demands; develop staffing schedules and assignments to provide the necessary level and type of care.

• Develop, present, and advocate for clinic funding; administer and monitor the approved budget to ensure the accomplishment of clinic care objectives within budget restrictions.

• Act as liaison between senior-level management, advisory boards and commissions, regulatory bodies, and program staff to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed, and that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of service.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other Health Services Agency staff, County departments, and agencies.

• Consult with other program managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary.

• Act as advocate and spokesperson in the community in support of programs and services; interpret, explain, and direct the enforcement of community health-related standards, codes, and regulations.

• Provide highly complex staff assistance to senior-level management and related commissions and advisory boards on program issues.

• Prepare a wide variety of detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years of administrative or managerial experience in a healthcare delivery, social, or community services organization, including significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, program service delivery, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources, or program evaluation.

San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking an experienced Patient Services Specialist (PSS) - Extra-Help.
 
The successful hire will support the clinical team with all registration, eligibility, enrollment, authorization, other administrative tasks, and Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) activities for SMMC. The PSS serves as the ambassador for SMMC to validate information and educate our patients and guests with the financial process upon arrival to the facility. The PSS verifies all demographic information, validates eligibility, obtain authorizations, collects co-payments, assist with all payor notifications and communication, and enroll patients if needed. The hire will be expected to work holidays and rotating weekends, if needed, to support department needs.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terminology and medical insurance requirements to individuals with varying levels of medical knowledge. Additionally, they should have strong skills in conflict resolution and problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will also be able to collaborate effectively with the clinical team, work with challenging patients, and assist those who may have language or communication barriers. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Furthermore, the ideal candidate must be flexible and available for various shifts throughout the week.

NOTE: This is an extra-help, at-will assignment, paid on an hourly basis. Extra-help hours are dependent on the business needs of the department and therefore work hours may vary from week to week. Extra help employees shall not exceed 1,040 hours of work per fiscal year. Some extra help positions are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Extra help employees are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the assignment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Group Supervisor I ($34.61/hr-$43.24/hr) - Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

 

Group Supervisor II ($39.04/hr-$48.83/hr) - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

 

Selected candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including graveyards, day shift, swing shift, weekends and holidays at any of the Probation Department locations. Selected candidates must also successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprints, medical examination, psychological evaluation, a truth verification test and be free from any physical, emotional or mental condition which might adversely affect the exercise of the powers of a Peace Officer. Felony and misdemeanors convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Group Supervisors hired into permanent positions must pass PC 832 peace officer training and complete a 160 hour STC training course within one year of appointment.

There are currently various vacancies in the Probation Department. Depending on qualifications, the vacancy may be filled at the Group Supervisor I or Group Supervisor II level.

Group Supervisors are responsible for:

• Supervising daily activities of youth in confinement.
• Observing and supervising unstable youth.
• Enforcing security and safety measures including searches of youth and their living quarters for contraband.

• Physically restraining assaultive youth and de-escalating violent behavior.
• Maintaining a safe environment for the youth and staff.
• Being a positive role model and authority figure.
• Participate in staff conferences.

 

Qualifications

Group Supervisor I: Completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university. An emphasis in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

 

Group Supervisor II: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a class C California driver license or equivalent.

 

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age on or before date of appointment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States by federal law.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation prior to employment.

The Position

The San Bruno Police Department is recruiting for Public Safety Dispatchers (Lateral.)  Public Safety Dispatchers are responsible for public safety dispatch and related records management activities. This position operates on a 24-hour, 365 days per year basis, and may be assigned to either a day, swing, or graveyard shift on a regular, rotational basis that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  Public Safety Dispatchers perform a wide range of duties involving radio, telephone, and computers, applying various procedures and codes. Dispatchers receive and transmit emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio traffic as well as process communication reports, records, and radio logs, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.  Dispatchers may also support the Police Department by performing clerical tasks, training, assisting with fingerprinting, and being accountable for financial transactions.  This position is integral in supporting the goals and objectives of the City and Police Department.  

 

Essential Duties

• Receives and transmits emergency telephone and radio traffic. 
• Maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records and radio logs.
• Operates a dispatch console, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) System and other computer programs to process information and records.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
• Performs collateral duties including a variety of related clerical tasks: assisting in preparation of work schedules; training and evaluating performance of new employees; conducting training sessions; assisting in fingerprinting and jail operations, which may include searching prisoners; and is accountable for handling cash, bond, and check transactions.
• Plans, organizes, and directs dispatching and related activities on an assigned shift. • Prepares and maintains training and procedure manuals.  As required, prepares special reports, and undertakes projects for Management Staff.
• May act as Records/Dispatcher Supervisor in their absence.
• Maintains liaison with other Department Divisions, City Departments, and other law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
• Maintains various C.A.D and Record Management Files.

Minimum Qualifications

 Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.

Education

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Additional related college course work or degree preferred.

Experience

• Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing duties similar to that of a Public Safety Dispatcher I.

Certificates and Licenses

• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, Class C with a good driving record.
• Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Intermediate Dispatch Certificate; an Advanced California POST Certificate is preferred.

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2025.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic people to work within our After School Sports and Mobile Recreation programs operated out of Red Morton Community Center. The hours of this position could be Monday through Friday, from 3:30pm-8:30pm during the school year, but nighttime and weekend hours will be mandatory depending on special events and program needs. During the spring and summer, duties will include, but are not limited to, serving as an assistant coach within our Junior Dribblers basketball program and assisting with mobile recreation activities at various parks and school sites. This position will work under the gym/field supervisor and report directly to the After School Sports Coordinator.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following: work as a field attendant in our flag football leagues; work as a scorekeeper in our volleyball and basketball leagues; possess a firm understanding of league rules and policies; ensure that games and practices operated in a safe, inclusive environment; report any issues immediately to gym/ field supervisor and/or After School Sports Coordinator; address all parent and coaches in a professional manner; maintain and care for all sports and mobile rec equipment; follow departmental and city-wide rules and regulations as they relate to the supervision of sports program and general work procedures; assist with other programs within the Parks & Recreation Department, including but not limited to, facilities, special events, and other youth programs.
