The County of San Mateo’s Sustainability Department seeks a dynamic and experienced leader for the position of Assistant Director of Sustainability. This role supports the County’s vision to build sustainable communities that meet the needs of both present and future generations.

The Assistant Director will partner closely with the Director to manage a $40M dollar budget and a high-performing team of approximately 35 professionals to lead efforts to combat and adapt to climate change, ensure access to clean energy, water, and air, and conserve natural resources.

SALARY:

The City of Foster City is seeking energetic, self-motivated, and organized candidates for the Deputy City Clerk position in the Communications/City Clerk Department. Education and Experience

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process.

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview (weighted 80%) and a written exercise (weighted 20%). An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. San Mateo Medical Center is currently seeking a professional, goal-oriented full-time, regular (benefited) Clinical Services Manager I who will plan, organize, direct, and supervise the operations of our Medical-Surgical (ADC of 35), Intensive Care Unit (ADC 4), and Infusion Center. As Clinical Services Manager I, you will have the opportunity to manage patient care while ensuring appropriate quality of care and compliance with regulations. The position requires strong experience in managing large teams, coordinating across departments, and ensuring alignment of day-to-day operations with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will:

• Possess a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with certification in a specialty
• Have three years of progressive management/supervisory experience in an accredited hospital or clinic
• Have a background that includes experience in an ICU
• Bring strong clinical and operational leadership experience in acute care settings, with the ability to manage across multiple service lines, including Medical-Surgical, ICU, and infusion services
• Demonstrate experience managing large, complex teams (approximately 75–100+ FTEs), ideally across multiple departments or programs

Qualifications

 

Licensure/Certification: Possession of a valid California license as a Registered Nurse (R.N.).  Must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificates approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. 

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is;

• Three years of professional nursing experience in an accredited hospital or clinic, of which at least one year included responsible supervisory experience, unless otherwise specified below in the additional qualifications.
• Two years of the required experience must have been in acute care and surgical nursing and includes experience in infusion, including chemotherapy, telemetry, antibiotics, blood transfusions and pediatrics.

Knowledge of:

• Nurse Practice Act.
• Principles and practices of nursing and clinical systems, including safety and infection control practices.
• Principles and practices of community health care including current trends in research, treatment, prevention, education and related services.

• Food Handling Skills: One year of experience preparing and serving food. Possession of a valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification from the National Restaurant Association.
• Food Safety and Sanitation: Demonstrated understanding and adherence to proper food handling, hygiene, and safety protocols. Awareness of the general food safety and sanitation codes and standards.
• Time Management: Efficiently manage time to coordinate the preparation and cooking of multiple dishes simultaneously. Prioritize tasks in alignment with established procedures and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines while following protocols. Ability to be at your workstation on time.
• Customer Service: Prioritize and handle tasks that directly contribute to delivering excellent service throughout Food Service Unit operations. Additionally, the ideal candidate for the Sheriff’s Office will possess a California Class C or Class A license, have a clean driving record, and be comfortable working alongside incarcerated individuals. Fluency in Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian (speak, read, write) is highly desired but not required.
  
Candidates chosen for these positions must successfully pass a background investigation in order to work in a locked facility around incarcerated persons. Felony and misdemeanor convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency.  
   
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office currently has one regular full-time vacancies with additional vacancies expected. The appointment may be made at either the Food Service Worker I or II level, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate(s) and the needs of the department.
  
As a Food Service Worker with the Sheriff’s Office you will be responsible for:

• Directing the work of incarcerated individuals who are assigned to clean and prepare food or assist in related routine tasks defined by supervisors at specific facilities assisting Cooks in the preparation of meals.
• Driving a large or small truck to deliver food and supplies and maintaining basic records related to vehicle use such as mileage and service reports.
• Preparing food for cooking by peeling, cutting, or slicing.
• Preparing salads, sandwiches, beverages, and simple desserts.
• Setting up tray lines and/or individual trays.
• Maintaining safety and security of equipment and addressing issues that arise.
• Overseeing the activities of the dish room, including ensuring chemicals are ordered, monitoring the PH and temperatures of the equipment, and preparing daily items such as dishes, pots, pans, containers, carts, and equipment.
• Cleaning facilities including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas such as floors, storage spaces, trucks and emptying garbage cans.
• Assisting with deliverables including signing for, bringing in, and/or storing items.
• Performing basic office tasks such as answering phones, working with computers, and paperwork.
• Following Food Service Unit policy and procedures including arriving to work on time, submitting personal timecard and assisting in following up on requests in a timely matter.

Food Service Worker I ($30.86 - $34.47 / hourly) is the entry/trainee level position. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn a full range of Food Service Worker duties. As experience is gained there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This classification is flexibly staffed with Food Service Worker II and incumbents may advance to the next level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiencies which meet the higher-level qualifications.
  
Food Service Worker II ($32.50 - $36.35 / hourly) is the journey level position. Under general supervision, incumbents independently perform a variety of responsible food service duties. Incumbents work under specified guidelines and supervisors are available in non-routine circumstances. Specific duties may vary from position to position.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision to perform general duty firefighting and fire prevention activities; to respond to  emergency calls; to operate and maintain firefighting apparatus and equipment; to assist and participate in fire training programs and fire station maintenance: and to do related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This classification includes a variety of assignments in preventing, controlling and extinguishing fires, performing emergency medical care and rescue operations, public education activities, and maintenance operations. While time spent fighting fires constitutes a small fraction of the scheduled work time, incumbents must be able to meet such emergencies and the hazards which may involve considerable physical exertion, and potential risk to health and safety.

The San Mateo County Controller's Office is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Application Support Analyst III.

The Controller’s Office

The mission of the Controller’s Office of San Mateo County is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.
   
The Controller's Office maintains the County’s accounting system and records, and prepares independently audited, award-winning annual financial reports (ACFR and PAFR) that disclose the financial condition of the County to the public. We are staffed with 51 full-time accounting, audit, and information systems professionals. The office also calculates annual property tax bill amounts, distribute taxes collected to local government agencies, and performs internal audits of the County’s operations.
  
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Controller’s Information Systems (CIS) team to support various mission-critical applications for the County as they pertain to finance, expense reimbursements, timekeeping, as well as support Countywide system integrations.  
  
As an Application Support Analyst III, you will leverage your systems expertise to collaborate and consult with colleagues within the Controller’s Office and other County fiscal and/or technical staff and resolve issues related to the systems, improve business processes by recommending and implementing solutions within the systems, process requests such as report and integrations development, and maintain application security at both an authentication and application access level.  
  
This role will entail hands-on support, administration, configuration, and maintenance of multiple related financial systems, including Finance Enterprise by CentralSquare for general accounting, Coupa for accounts payable and vendor onboarding, and Workday Expense for employee expense reimbursements.  
 
While the ideal candidate has experience in all of these systems, we are also accepting candidates who have experience and expertise in at least one of the aforementioned systems but can demonstrate transferable skills to learn the other systems and applications.
   

The ideal candidate will also have:

• 5+ years of proven application support and administration experience, preferably in Finance Enterprise, Coupa, and/or Workday Expense.
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or an equivalent field of study is preferred.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end small to medium-sized application projects and implementing solutions for operational improvements and automation.
• Knowledge of VB Script, SQL, and Cognos (or other reporting platform).
• Knowledge of basic security concepts as they pertain to Finance Enterprise, Coupa, and/or Workday.
• The ability to work with and analyze large data sets.
