The Police Officer's duties are to perform law enforcement and crime prevention work. Full-time permanent positions of Police Officers serve an eighteen (18) month probationary period. 

The Police Officer will demonstrate cultural competency working with all community members regardless of cultural differences or circumstances, including race, ethnicity, religion, language, gender identity, age, marital and familial status, sexual orientation, diverse physical and learning abilities, socioeconomic status, and other identities.

Share your passion by teaching students! Enrichment instructors lead a one hour class on-site after school. Enjoy the freedom to plan a curriculum on your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students.

DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum for elementary age children for a one hour onsite outdoor enrichment program. Program hours could include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2pm – 4pm and Wednesday 1:15pm – 3:15pm, preparation hours can be discussed.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Civil Engineer in the Public Works Division of the Community Development and Services Agency. Under limited supervision, the Senior Civil Engineer will perform the more difficult professional engineering work including the preparation of civil design plans for various Public Works projects, conducting research studies, performing field inspections and testing, analyzing reports, maps, drawings, or geological data, and procuring permits; act as a resource to staff, contracts, consultants, other agencies and the public regarding areas of assignment; provide lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents are fully qualified to perform all duties specified as a Professional Engineer by the State of California. This is the master level in the civil engineer series, and reports directly to Principal Engineer.

Examples of Duties:

• Review plans and inspect projects; provide engineering design and code information and ensure that designs meet accepted industry and legal standards, and projects are biddable and buildable.
• Interpret and explain complex and technical laws, codes and regulations and provide information related to Public Works Engineering activities; may receive and respond to complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Initiate and maintain professional relationships with other departments, businesses, local community and professional organizations.
• Provide direction as a lead worker; expected to review the work of professional civil engineers and support staff to ensure compliance with established procedures related to design, construction and inspection of flood control, storm water management, water resources, bridges, parks, roads and other related projects as well as provide input on assigned staff performance to management; provide guidance to professional and technical staff.

Teen Director is required to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events. Approximately 15 hours per week with the potential for more hours.

Teen Aide will assist in leading Teen Zone, a daily drop-in program for local middle school students. While on duty, Teen Aide may be responsible for check-in and check-out of participants, oversee an in-house snack bar, and facilitate set-up of the Teen Zone game room (including setting up video games, ping pong table, quiet homework spaces, and more). Light cleaning duties will be expected.

Assignments are intended to provide background in the fundamental principles and practices of public service engineering.

Associate Engineer: is the journey level in the civil engineer series. Under general supervision, incumbents independently conduct design, research and construction project inspection and analyses for a variety of projects within the county. Responsibilities may also include providing work direction to technical support staff.

Associate Civil Engineer: is the advanced journey level in the civil engineering series. Under general direction, incumbents perform professional engineer work and prepare civil design plans for various Public Works projects; independently conduct engineering feasibility cost, research and design studies and construction project work; analyses for varied department and agency projects and functions; signing off designs and as-built changes related to roads, bridges, culverts and other County infrastructure and perform related duties as assigned.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned.
