allcove™ https://allcove.org/ is a youth drop-in center model that has evolved from the Head Space Program in Australia and Foundry Program in British Columbia, Canada. PHCD is working closely with Stanford’s Center for Youth Mental Health and Well Being (CYMHWB) leadership who have been instrumental in defining the model for California and successfully influencing the State of California Mental Health Services & Oversight Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) to provide start up grants for five pilot centers around the State. The Central County Fire Department (CCFD) is seeking a highly organized and dedicated part-time Coordinator to lead and support the activities of our local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). This vital position plays a key role in planning, organizing, and overseeing CERT training, coordinating volunteer engagement, and promoting disaster preparedness in the community.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate CERT training programs in collaboration with CCFD personnel and instructors.
• Manage CERT membership records and submit timely quarterly reports to the CCFD CERT Manager.
• Oversee CERT meetings, deployments, and events, ensuring safety protocols and PPE guidelines are followed.
• Review and manage CERT communications for accuracy and appropriateness prior to distribution.

Support community preparedness efforts and maintain program equipment.

The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for all the classroom and on-the-job training activities relating to current bus maintenance for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), Caltrain, and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA).

• Develops classroom on-the-job training and exit examinations relating to SamTrans Core Maintenance Training Curriculum: Shop Safety and PM Procedures, Core Repair Skills, Air Brake Systems, HVAC Systems, Basic Electrical Systems, Multiplex and Charging Systems, Diesel Engine Electronic Controls, Diesel Engine Tune-up and Troubleshooting, Light Duty (hydraulic) Brake Systems, Vehicle Subsystems, HD Steering Hydraulic Systems, and Suspension Systems, Automatic Transmission, ACS Diagnostics & Repair, Fare Collection Equipment, Hybrid Drive Systems, Battery Electric Drive Systems and Fuel Cell Battery Electric Bus Systems, Camera System Maintenance & Repair, Medium Duty Gasoline Engines.
• Serves as one of the principal instructors.  Oversees and evaluates vendor provided training activities.
• Oversees on-the-job training activities, mentors, coaches, guides, and directs progressive maintenance training. Maintains written and electronic records and performs proficient evaluations. 
• Collaborates in the development and implementation of testing programs for bus maintenance personnel.
• Develops and implements all maintenance safety training programs in collaboration with the Safety Department and management. Certifies that District employees meet established requirements for Forklift Operation, Hazardous Materials First Responder, First Aid, CPR, and AED Training.
• Oversees the District’s maintenance training programs.

Examples of Duties

• Stays current with new developments in the field of Training and Adult Learning Strategies.  Assesses the effectiveness of in-house training programs and recommends program upgrades with presented examples.
• Conducts skills gap assessments.  Develops a comprehensive training curriculum for all mechanic classifications, including Utility Workers, and reviews and updates as needed based on current technologies.
• Stays current with new technologies as they pertain to District fleets.
• Collaborates on all maintenance programs regarding quality assurance, makes recommendations where necessary to ensure the quality of the workforce training programs, and works with appropriate maintenance management staff to ascertain requirements and changes within industry best practices.
• Helps plan, organize, and execute the SamTrans Maintenance Rodeo and competition teams.  Mentors and coaches the maintenance team at the regional and international competition.
• Assumes the duties of Chair and/or Secretary of the joint Labor-Management Maintenance Training Committee.
• Ensure core curricula follows all regulatory and safety requirements, and best practices.
• Develops and implements training programs for newly hired employees.
• Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.  Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) years of related progressive full-time experience as an automotive/truck diagnostic technician, repair technician, or instructor.
• Experience assessing and training others in a classroom or shop environment is required.
• Experience with powertrain electronic controls, on-board Hi-Voltage systems, on-board Hi-pressure systems, ABS, HVAC, and PLC systems is required. 
• Strong oral and written communications skills.  Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Demonstrated journey level mechanic experience showing knowledge, expertise and ability to troubleshoot advanced systems and make repairs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Zero emission technology including battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell experience highly desired.
• Experience in conducting skills and needs assessment surveys desired.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Training: High school graduate or equivalent qualification, and 30 semester units from an accredited college or university desired (not required)
 

Certification: Must pass a comprehensive physical examination, meeting the standards established by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST)
 

License: Possession and maintenance of a California Class C driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
 

Minimum requirements for lateral entry officers:

• Must meet all minimum requirements for entry level officer with the exception of written and agility examination requirements.
• Must possess a POST Basic Certificate.
• A minimum of one-year satisfactory past police patrol experience within the past three years.
• Must have no record of felony criminal convictions or misdemeanor convictions that could affect credibility as a witness in a court of law.
• Vision and hearing capabilities consistent with guidelines by POST and/or the City.
• Must be of good moral character to be determined by a thorough background investigation, which will be conducted under POST guidelines.

The outpatient clinician will provide specialty outpatient mental health services to adults living in the Northern regions of San Mateo County. The target population are adults 18 years of age and older presenting with a serious mental illness and severe functional impairments. Principal duties will include assessment and diagnosis, care coordination, case management, group and individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and rehabilitation services. The Clinician will provide treatment in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidates will possess: 

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist;
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities;
• Experience/interest in providing treatment for adults with serious mental illness;
• Experience/interest in delivering services to adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders;
• Experience/interest in delivering services in specialty areas for adults and older adults and/or transitional age youth;

About the Position
Under administrative direction, the position manages the Air Quality Modeling and Analysis (AQM&A) Section in the AIM Division. Incumbents in this class make decisions that have impacts on daily operations and implementation of established procedures and policies and solve problems requiring analyses of issues that may result in deviations from routine processes, new technology, and additional resources.  Incumbents make recommendations for program planning and directing, as well as organizing new and future resource needs.

About the Division
The Assessment, Inventory, and Modeling (AIM) Division prepares comprehensive source emission inventories for the Bay Area and conducts air quality modeling at both regional and community scales. AIM prepares technical assessments that evaluate equity in air pollution exposures and health impacts in support of Air District programs. AIM coordinates and implements programs to improve and report estimates of emissions of criteria pollutants, toxic air contaminants, and climate forcing pollutants. AIM maintains the Bay Area photochemical grid modeling platform and functions, developed and analyze modeled concentrations, exposures of toxic air contaminants, particulate matter, ozone and their precursors, to support targeted strategies that reduce impacts of air pollution both regionally and within communities, especially where Assembly Bill (AB) 617 community action plans are being developed and implemented. AIM reviews and provides guidance on environmental health risk assessments within environmental review documents prepared pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

The incumbent will assume responsibility for leading and managing multiple programs and functional areas within the AIM Division and assisting the Division Director in implementing the Air District’s policies and best practices, as well as making decisions regarding program planning, project prioritization, and staff resources allocation. The incumbent will also lead or support collaborative projects across Divisions and provide technical assessments of modeled air pollutant concentrations and health risk associated with stationary and mobile sources.

Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the assigned programs, especially those related to regional and local air quality modeling, to support the Air District’s regulation and policy development and implementation.

Directs, organizes, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; selects and trains staff and provides for their professional development.

Directs the preparation, maintenance, verification, and reconciliation of a wide variety of reports.

Develops, reviews, and recommends improved methods and procedures; directs the team in using appropriate modeling analysis approaches and project/task management tools.

Directs the maintenance of and maintains accurate records; prepares clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.

Analyzes technical data and problems, prepares and presents reports and recommendations regarding operational and policy issues to the Board, various committees, and other Air District groups.

Analyzes and reviews local, state, and federal legislation to determine its impact on the Air District.

Responds to requests for public information regarding the Air District's policies, procedures and operations.

Represents the Air District and assists the Director/Officer as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills is:

Equivalent to graduation from a four (4) year college or university with major coursework in a job related field, including atmospheric and environmental science, environmental modeling, or environmental engineering, and four (4) years of professional level work experience preferably in a public agency, of which at least two (2) years were at a supervisory level. Some positions may require specialized training, education and experience.

The City of Menlo Park is seeking engineering professionals, with exceptional technical and project management skills, for Senior Civil Engineer positions in the Public Works Department (Department) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Division. The Senior Engineer will lead capital improvement projects under the supervision of the City Engineer or Public Works Director. About the Department

The Public Works Department consists of approximately 72 full time employees and is responsible for maintaining and improving the City’s streets, parks, water and stormwater systems, traffic signals, fleet, and public buildings.  Public Works provides many of the basic services affecting the daily lives of everyone living, working, visiting, and commuting within the City, including:  

• 26 City-owned buildings/facilities and their grounds
• A fleet of over 250 vehicles and pieces of equipment
• 97 miles of streets
• Drinking water delivery for 16,000 customers
• Flood protection and stormwater management programs particularly along the San Francisco Bay, San Francisquito Creek and Atherton Channel
• 14 parks, 2 open spaces, 14 playgrounds, 2 dog parks, 9 sports fields, and 14 tennis/pickleball courts
• Efforts to preserve and expand the urban canopy, including 20,000 public trees
• Multimodal transportation services including 42 traffic signals, safe routes to schools and citywide shuttle programs. 

The department has nearly a $40 million operating budget supported by over 25 different special/dedicated funding sources for the varied programs and services provided to the community. In addition, the City has an approximate $100 million capital improvement program, in part due to a successful track record in pursuing grants from a variety of local, state and federal sources. Some of the exciting efforts on the horizon include efforts to protect the San Francisco Bay shoreline and adjacent community from sea level rise; efforts to eliminate the City’s reliance on fossil fuels through building and fleet electrification; making investments in transportation safety through strategic quick-build projects and large infrastructure changes like a pedestrian/bicycle undercrossing at Caltrain; and ensuring the equitable delivery of services throughout the entire city in alignment with the goals and programs developed as part of the city’s first environmental justice element underway.
