Position Duties

 

The City of San Jose is recruiting for a part-time School Crossing Guards in the Police Department during the normal school year.  Work involves providing for the safe conduct of elementary and junior high school children across heavily traveled streets and reporting problems requiring possible police action. Positions may involve substituting at different corners or a regular location assignment.  In general, these assignments are a split shift with approximately ten (10) hours per week.  School Crossing Guards are required to work outside regardless of weather conditions and must be able to provide a uniform as specified by the Police Department.   Work includes outside duties and exposure to weather.  Work may include the physical ability to sit, stand, walk quickly, step up/down from the curb, reach, push and/or pull, twist and or rotate, bend, lift and carry up to 10 pounds, use hands hold and use a stop sign the entire shift, use other hand to stop traffic and use a whistle at the same.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the School Based Services Program within the Child & Family Clinic. The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
 

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.
   
• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.
   
• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.
   
• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.
   

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Therapist II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). 

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as Clinical Therapist II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Clinical Therapist II will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Clinical Therapist II will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
   

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure;
   

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
   

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
   

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;
   

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

MANAGEMENT ANALYST – TRAINEE

The incumbent applies education and related work experience while actively pursuing a bachelor's degree. In the alternative, a Trainee may hold a bachelor's degree, but does not have the experience for a journey-level role just yet. Under general and/or close supervision of an executive or department manager, the incumbent will train on and perform a variety of analytical tasks, including budget preparation, program management, and policy evaluation. As experience and education progress, the incumbent may begin to take on more complex assignments. 

While in the Trainee capacity, the incumbent is an at-will, probationary employee. Upon successfully gaining the required experience or bachelor’s degree, the incumbent will be evaluated for potential placement in the Journey-Level Management Analyst classification.

 

MANAGEMENT ANALYST – JOURNEY LEVEL
This is a journey-level, exempt position in which the incumbent operates with greater independence and responsibility. The position requires both breadth and depth of knowledge in theories, concepts, and techniques used in budget, project, and policy analysis, along with a thorough understanding of policies and procedures. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform complex analytical work, evaluate management projects, and may develop policy recommendations.

The Positions
Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is seeking dynamic and innovative Senior Electric Utility Engineer candidates to immediately fill two (2) vacancies  in the Customer Development and Project Management divisions, with potential future vacancies in these or other divisions. For the Engineering Division:

This position will lead substation engineering and standards development that support the mission of the Utility. This position requires hands-on working knowledge of   substation design and construction, and standards development. A working knowledge of protection and control systems, communication systems, project management, and Compliance is desirable. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of substation engineering concepts, principles, and practices to resolve complex problems with only general direction. This position supports day-to-day utility operations and Compliance.

For System Expansion Division 

This position will support System Expansion Capital Projects and have the opportunity to work on complex and exciting large capital system expansion improvement projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. This position will be working on four large system expansion projects moving forward to bid and construction, totaling an estimated cost of $440 million. This position requires hands-on work during construction of 3 receiving station projects and one 2.25-mile 115kV transmission line project. The position may also assist with outage management, construction and contracts management, material procurement and tracking, and easement acquisition. As such, the ideal candidate will have large substation or receiving station project experience and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. The candidate will show proven problem-solving skills and excellent communication.
