The Department: 

The Mayor and Council office is a division of the City Manager’s Office. As an integral part of the City Manager’s Office, the Mayor and Council division provides administrative support to the City Council and general customer service to constituents and external stakeholders. The Santa Clara City Council consists of the Mayor elected at-large, and six City Councilmembers elected by City Council district.

The Position: 

The Executive Assistant is an executive-level support position responsible for interacting effectively with the public, elected officials, City management and key department staff. The position will provide administrative support including calendar management, oversight of event and meeting coordination, managing travel arrangements, administration of office budget, and managing a wide range of complex administrative duties with initiative, independence, while supporting management staff and elected officials. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.

This class is distinguished from other office administrative classes by its direct reporting relationship to the City Manager and its broader continuing interfaces with political and elected officials, department directors, other government agencies, private business representatives, City staff, and the public. The ideal candidate must be able to handle non-partisan confidential matters with a high level of judgement, practice confidentiality and discretion. An incumbent in this position demonstrates strong ethical, professional, and service-oriented leadership and interpersonal skills, sets a good example, and correctly applies the tenets of the City's Code of Ethics and Values.

 
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position, and the incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is seeking a dynamic, engaging and highly qualified professionals for one vacant unclassified management positions of Principal Electric Utility Engineer in Engineering division under our Customer Development and Project Management groups.

Engineering Division

This  position will lead an engineering team that will include substation engineering, Transmission system engineering and distribution system engineering. This position will be responsible for performing and managing the design of substation and transmission line projects from conception through construction and commissioning. This position will develop standards, specifications, engineering studies, calculations, evaluations, design documents associated with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of SVP substations, Transmission system, distribution system and other utility facilities. The candidates must have extensive experience in High voltage Substation and Transmission line design, plan, standard and specification preparation. The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County. Reporting directly to the Public Works Director, the Assistant Public Works Director will serve as a project manager for a variety of public works and capital improvement projects, including the design and construction of roads, bridges and storm drainage infrastructure.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general direction from the Director of Public Works; exercises direct supervision over professional engineering, technical engineering and clerical staff.

Overview:

The Program Administrator (Contracts Supervisor) plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates the procurement by contract of professional consultant services (architectural engineering "A/E" and non-A/E consultants) and specialized Valley Water activities, and coordinates and oversees contract administration activities.  The Program Administrator works on contracts that are highly complex and sensitive in nature, where substantial judgment and initiative are essential in making recommendations and resolving problems. This is a management and leadership position with oversight of a team of contract professionals. This position reports to the Manager of the Purchasing and Consultant Contracts Unit, within the General Services Division.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review and approve procurement request documents, cost estimates, scope, and other relevant information to initiate and implement a procurement strategy.
• Provides advice to personnel on procurement and contracting issues.
