The Position
The Reserve Firefighter program is designed to support full-time Fire Department operations while also serving as a career development pathway for individuals pursuing the fire service industry.

As a non-sworn Reserve Firefighter, participants will:

• Receive ongoing training to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed in the fire service.

• Contribute to the Lincoln Fire Department by applying learned skills in service to the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Reserve Firefighter will respond to and participate in fire suppression, hazardous materials, rescue and medical operations requiring full unassisted ambulatory activity including bending, stooping, lifting up to 100 pounds, walking on uneven surfaces, squatting, climbing, lying prone, and running. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, and exposure to water, heat, fire, smoke and other hazardous substances. Reserve Firefighters will wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), protective clothing and boots, operate heavy rescue equipment and administer medical treatment to ill and injured persons.

Please Note:  Reserve Firefighters will be required to work a minimum of two (2) shifts or 48 hours.

The Placer County Community Development Resource Agency is seeking applications to fill one (1) full-time Long-Range Senior Planner vacancy on the Long-Range Planning team. This position performs a variety of complex, long-range planning functions, including supporting development of the General Plan update and Housing Element implementation and will support a Principal Planner and the Planning Director in fulfilling the role. This position can be based out of either the Auburn or Tahoe City office.

Key duties include:

• Assist in updating the County’s General Plan, including drafting and developing policy and code, permitting policies and/or development standards, and implementation strategies, as well as performing legislation review and education.
• Support work efforts centered around housing, including zoning code updates, policy development, permitting policies and/or development standards, legislation review and education, and implementation strategies.
• Collaborate on fees, incentives, and streamlining packages for housing and infill development, and coordinate with developers and landowners. Coordinate with current planning team.
• Perform research, data collection, and analysis.
•  Conduct public outreach and education for a variety of programs or projects, including presenting to stakeholders, advisory bodies, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors. Collaborate with regional partners and stakeholders.
• Utilize technology, such as GIS and mapping software, website management systems, and other tools to advance policy and program implementations.

Planning Services currently offers a hybrid remote work environment and alternative work schedules. This position requires occasional work outside of normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends, to attend and participate in community and/or staff decision-maker meetings and also requires travel to various countywide locations, including both the Auburn and Tahoe City offices, for a variety of meetings and hearings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible planning experience performing duties similar to those of an Associate Planner.

TRAINING
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban, regional, or environmental planning, or a related field.

The ideal candidate is passionate about long-range planning, creative and innovative with policy development, flexible, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment working both independently and with a team. They are familiar with state planning laws and requirements and can develop a comprehensive understanding of the laws and local implementing ordinances to ensure compliance. The candidate demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communications skills and negotiates effectively with development, community, and governmental interests to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience working in local government and/or in a long-range planning field and implementing the California Environmental Quality Act. The candidate should demonstrate experience working on a range of long-range planning documents including, but not limited to, General Plans, Specific Plans, and zoning text amendments, and will possess knowledge of a range of planning topics, including land use, community design, housing, sustainability and adaptation, mobility planning, habitat conservation, and natural resource programs.

The City has new desktop and laptop computers in place for employees. The City already has Crime Analysis and Traffic Analysis software systems in place. A new handheld citations system for traffic has recently been launched. The City also implemented a citywide GIS system, document imaging system, and Intranet, which are available to all staff members. The City of Patterson is seeking a highly qualifed Public Works Director to plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of the Public Works Department including the urban forestry division, fleet maintenance division, water operations division, streets and collections division, wastewater treatment division, parks and landscape division, electrical and facility maintenance division, and  regulatory and environmental compliance  division.  The incumbent will coordinate assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager’s Office.

Position Summary

This position demands a wide range of technical skills. Under the direction of the Communications Electronics Supervisor, this position provides technical support for the communications, access control, video and electronics control system in place throughout the District. The Communications Electronics Technician installs, maintains, test and repairs electronics communications system located at various District facilities from San Francisco to Santa Rosa. These include, but is not limited to, P25 trunked radio system, microwave equipment, video cameras and management system, access control system, programmable logic controllers, fiber optics and network communications equipment. The position is also involved in the installation and maintenance of communication and fiber optic cabling systems. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains the following: P25 trunked radio system, access control system, video management system, programmable logic controllers and associated controls, microwave equipment, public address systems, telephone lines and fiber optic cables
• Installs, tests, and maintains electronic and two-way radio equipment in Buses, Ferries, District vehicles and facilities, and radio sites
• Setups and services access control system, including card readers, electromechanical locks, gate controllers and associated software
• Installs and maintains video surveillance system, including cameras, servers and management software
• Installs and maintains different computer aided equipment such as radio dispatch consoles, access control monitoring, video management system, & distributed control system for PLC
• Tests, troubleshoots and repairs fiber optic using OTDR and splice equipment
• Installs, configures and maintains servers, database and network equipment such as routers and switches
• Performs regular, preventive maintenance and documents system and equipment repairs, modifications and changes
• Assists in the design, fabrication and modification of electronics communications equipment

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Fleet and Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, training, and assisting mechanics in the routine preventive maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems at Bus Transit facilities. This includes overseeing shop equipment, automated fueling systems, revenue fare collection equipment, passenger amenities, and signage.

The Chief Mechanic - Building Maintenance is a working position that combines the duties of the Mechanic - Building Maintenance classification with skilled supervisory responsibilities. These include supervising work crews, scheduling tasks, managing projects, and providing training and mentorship to subordinate employees. Additionally, the position is accountable for generating detailed written and electronic reports on facility and equipment conditions, documenting maintenance and repairs performed, and outlining ongoing maintenance needs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and participates in work assignments for all employees supervised
• Evaluates job performance and knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) of all employees being supervised.
• Provides training, mentoring and feedback to personnel
• Issues 2nd level of progressive discipline, counseling, and written letters of reprimand to employees supervised. This position will not be responsible for administering discipline at subsequent levels.
• Interprets and enforces District rules, regulations, and policies
• Assures proper completion of job assignments with minimum expense and maximum productivity 
• Certifies records of work in progress and completed, including timecards, material requisitions, maintenance records and equipment counts when required.
• Collaborates closely with supervisors of oncoming and off going shifts to assure maximum daily productivity and continuity of work
• Monitors employee attendance and adherence to arrival, break and departure times

• Assists in developing and performs ongoing monitoring of key performance measures to ensure departmental goals are consistently achieved
