THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Supervisor I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The MCCP Clinical Supervisor I/II will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Clinical Supervisor I/II will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure.
•  Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
•  Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
•  Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.
•  The Clinical Supervisor incumbent must be available for consultation during and following crisis calls  as well as to fill in when back-up is needed in the field during scheduled work hours.

The County of Yuba is currently accepting full time and extra help applications for the position of Correctional Technician within the Probation Department - Youth Detention Facilities and the Sheriff's Department - Jail Division. Working under general supervision, the Correctional Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring video and audio systems to maintain the safety and security of inmates, juveniles, and staff within the secure detention areas. Additional responsibilities include performing various technical and clerical tasks related to the intake and release process for the County's Jail system, and juveniles at the Tri-County Juvenile Hall and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center, inputting relevant data into the booking system, documenting inmate and juvenile observations, providing public reception, access, and assistance as required, and other related duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Essential:

• Process paperwork provided by law enforcement officer or the courts for new inmates or youth; verify information on booking forms; obtain signatures; oversee telephone usage; obtain photographs; inventory and securely process property and money for safekeeping.
• Gather and enter inmate or youth information into computerized booking system; prepare and route computer-generated booking; complete files, logs, charts and other documents associated with jail or juvenile detention facility booking activities.
• Participate in monitoring safety and security of the staff, inmates, juveniles, visitors and facility; notify appropriate staff of any incidents, problems, or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and assess the behavior of inmates or youth from a control room; monitor radio communications; and operate intercom and electronic door controls in routine and emergency conditions.
• Process court paperwork, process discharge paperwork, and enter data into computer system.
• Update manual and automated inmate or youth records and tracking systems.
• Monitor inmates or youth on exercise yard from a controlled area; monitor and document inmates’ or youths’ recreational activities.
• Process and monitor visitors, ascertains nature of business, assist and/or direct visitors to appropriate person, observe visitation, report security violations.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.
• Perform case management of moderately complex cases.
• Conduct field/home visits, assessments, and reassessments as required to monitor and investigate progress and compliance
• Prepare and review court pleadings, depending on area of assignment.

The County of Yuba is currently accepting full time and extra help employment applications for the position of Office Specialist within the Community Development and Services Agency.  Under general supervision, incumbents perform a variety of administrative, secretarial, and office support duties of considerable complexity, requiring thorough know ledge of the assigned department, division, or program, its procedures and operational details; provides administrative support to various department staff; composes and prepares correspondence using judgment in content and style; performs skilled word processing, data entry and organization, telephone and counter reception, processing of invoices, recordkeeping, statistical and technical report preparation, and filing; provides information to the public and County staff; and performs related duties as assigned.  

Note: Office Specialist is a County-wide classification. The employment list established from this recruitment may be utilized to fill additional vacancies within the same classification in other departments including law enforcement departments such as Sheriff and Probation if they arise during the life of the Employment List.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Perform specialized office support work which may require the knowledge of detailed or specialized activities related to the department to which assigned.
• Compiles and assemble information from a variety of sources for the completion of forms or the preparation of reports; make arithmetic or statistical calculations.
• Enter, edit and retrieve data and prepare periodic or special reports from an online or personal computer system following established formats and menus; may create report formats using programmed software to meet individual needs.
• Provide information to the public or to County staff that requires some interpretation of policies, rules and/or procedures.

The Emergency Dispatcher I/II position in the Sheriff’s Department performs a variety of difficult work in the provision of 24-hour-per-day, seven-days-per-week public safety emergency dispatch service, including all 911 communications. Emergency Dispatcher I is the entry level class in the Emergency Dispatcher series.  It differs from Emergency Dispatcher II in that the II level is fully trained as a dispatcher and may provide training for the Dispatcher I. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Receives incoming calls from the public; determines type of assistance required, including law enforcement, fire or ambulance personnel, etc., and dispatches emergency and non-emergency radio and telephone communications to appropriate jurisdictions and agencies.
• Operates a law enforcement 911 communications network.
• Maintains radio communications with field personnel as necessary to relay messages and information, and to determine the location and safety of field personnel.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties as required, including but not limited to answering business telephones; processing and/or maintaining department records, including case files; compiling information and statistics for reports; preparing criminal history reports; entering/cancelling/retrieving data on computer; ordering supplies, copying and filing documents, etc.
• Processes civil, misdemeanor, juvenile and felony warrants.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

Examples of Duties:

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of various levels of professional social work staff in the area of adult and child protective services.
• Provide direction and coaching, through regular feedback sessions; create individual development plans with employees, discuss job performance problems to identify causes and issues, and work on resolving problems; and offer advice and assistance as needed.
• Recommend and administer discipline and implement discipline procedures as needed/directed.
• Recommend selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training and provide for their professional development.
• Interpret regulations and rules to staff; provide for consistency of staff interpretation and application of such rules and regulations.
• Provide technical assistance to staff regarding difficult case problems.
• Prepare and modifies procedures related to assigned activities; inform staff of such changes.
• Perform the full range of professional work, often in difficult or complex circumstances.
• Interview and counsel a diverse population referred for services; handle the most complex and sensitive child welfare services cases.

DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum for elementary age children for a one hour onsite outdoor enrichment program. Program hours could include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2pm – 4pm and Wednesday 1:15pm – 3:15pm, preparation hours can be discussed.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This position performs a variety of para-professional, case management duties, and performs related duties as assigned in the adult and youth and family Mental Health Units, along with providing crisis services. The HHSA Case Manager II is distinguished from the HHSA Case Manager I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned and is responsible for the provision of case management including complex cases. Both levels of this position are responsible for providing direct case management services to clients  The position is located in the Behavioral Health Division at the Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Coordinates services with individuals, coordinates activities with other departments, medical providers, social workers, schools and/or other outreach agencies as appropriate to ensure that the needs of the clients are met.
• Receives referrals from the courts, schools, social workers or other individuals or organizations regarding individuals.
• Maintains close, collaborative and cooperative relationships with community agencies, social workers, local law enforcement and other public agencies carrying out treatment and educational plans; provides information to other County departments and agencies.
• Provides case management through individual or group rehab methods for children and/or adults for a variety of health services programs and services.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently seeking Extra-Help and Full-Time Animal Care Technicians, in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list.  Under general supervision, Animal Care Technicians assist in the daily maintenance, feeding and care of animals housed in the county’s animal care facility including those subject to quarantine, injured or ill; assist with euthanizations; provide information to the public regarding lost or stray animals; assist with licensing, pet adoptions and community volunteer programs; and perform related work as assigned.  This class is a working level class in the animal care series. 

Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. Most importantly, they keep lost pets safe and happy so they can be reunited with their owner or adopted into a new family.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•  Feed, water and care for all animals housed in the animal care facility according to schedules 
and feeding instructions; identify, vaccinate and impound stray animals.
•  Evaluate animal temperament; place animals in appropriate kennels within shelter facility based 
on species, condition and level of observation required.
•  Monitor and observe animals for signs of illness or injury, notify appropriate personnel and 
assist with medical care.
•  Assist with euthanizations and dispose of animals in a humane and prescribed method and in 
accordance with established policies and California laws; handle animal carcasses.
•  Assist with bathing and grooming of animals; clean and disinfect cages, equipment and all other 
areas at the shelter, as necessary.
•  Collect, record and complete forms regarding care, such as weight, size, physical 
condition,
disposition, treatments received and medications given and food intake.
