The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently seeking Extra-Help and Full-Time Animal Care Technicians, in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list.  Under general supervision, Animal Care Technicians assist in the daily maintenance, feeding and care of animals housed in the county’s animal care facility including those subject to quarantine, injured or ill; assist with euthanizations; provide information to the public regarding lost or stray animals; assist with licensing, pet adoptions and community volunteer programs; and perform related work as assigned.  This class is a working level class in the animal care series. 

Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. Most importantly, they keep lost pets safe and happy so they can be reunited with their owner or adopted into a new family.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•  Feed, water and care for all animals housed in the animal care facility according to schedules 
and feeding instructions; identify, vaccinate and impound stray animals.
•  Evaluate animal temperament; place animals in appropriate kennels within shelter facility based 
on species, condition and level of observation required.
•  Monitor and observe animals for signs of illness or injury, notify appropriate personnel and 
assist with medical care.
•  Assist with euthanizations and dispose of animals in a humane and prescribed method and in 
accordance with established policies and California laws; handle animal carcasses.
•  Assist with bathing and grooming of animals; clean and disinfect cages, equipment and all other 
areas at the shelter, as necessary.
•  Collect, record and complete forms regarding care, such as weight, size, physical 
condition,
disposition, treatments received and medications given and food intake.
 

Citrus Heights Water District is seeking a Construction Inspector / Senior Construction Inspector to join our team. The selected candidate will be placed in either classification, depending upon the applicant’s qualifications.

The City of Lincoln is hiring for a seasonal Maintenance Worker II within the Parks and Facilities Division of the Public Works Department.

The Department is looking for an individual with at least three years of responsible experience performing municipal parks maintenance. Course work and training in maintenance, agronomy, horticulture, forestry, natural resource management, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial or related field is highly desirable.  A successful candidate will have the ability to obtain a Class B Driver’s License within one year of employment.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

The Yuba County Probation is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Probation Officer I/II.  Under general supervision, Deputy Probation Officers perform a variety of professional adult and juvenile probation duties related to case management, field monitoring and investigation, probation supervision, mediation, intake and other programs; coordinates probation activities with those of the Superior Court; ensures compliance with court ordered probation conditions through counseling; coordinates community resources to assist probationers to successfully complete the terms of probation; and performs related work as required. About Yuba County Probation Services:

The principal mandated tasks accomplished by Adult and Juvenile Probation Services are the preparation of investigative reports and sentencing recommendations for the Courts on criminal, diversion and probation actions, and the supervision of adult and at risk youth granted formal probation. Probation Officers also supervise clients released on Post Release Community Supervision and pursuant to Section 1170(h) of the Penal Code. Probation manages a variety of specialized adult and youth program elements. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Assistant Engineer is the entry level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the professional engineering work not requiring registration as a Civil Engineer. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Associate Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the more complex and difficult assignments within the division.

The Associate Engineer is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the more complex design and construction of capital improvement projects and for reviewing private development projects for design conformance and accuracy. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering assignments requiring considerable knowledge of various aspects of civil engineering including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the most complex and difficult assignments within the division and may exercise direct supervision over assigned project staff.

The Senior Civil Engineer is an advanced journey level registered professional engineer class and exercises full responsibility for planning and organizing a variety of assigned engineering projects and directing the work of assigned staff. • Manages, develops and coordinates assigned program activities such as industrial waste ordinance management, grease trap enforcement, and other City Municipal Code-related activities, including policy development, community education, regional and state program coordination and required infrastructure modifications; recommend program activity budgets.
• Monitors work activities to ensure safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; ensures compliance to applicable rules, policies and procedures; participates in the development of policies and procedures; recommends programs, projects and work assignments to higher level engineering personnel.

Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service.  Additionally, the incumbent in this position works outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet, hot and cold.  The position entails working in situations that may expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock or mechanical hazards.  The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to drive motorized vehicles. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds is also required.

Ability to: Perform complex engineering computations; check, design and supervise the preparation of engineering plans and studies; plan, organize, direct and evaluate the effectiveness of assigned program activities; effectively exercise supervisory control over complex professional and technical tasks; negotiate and manage construction contracts; perform the full range of professional civil engineering tasks; prepare and administer a budget; safely and effectively operate engineering tools and equipment; interpret, explain and apply applicable laws, codes and regulations pertaining to municipal public works design and construction; make adjustments to standard operating procedures to improve effectiveness and comply with regulatory changes as appropriate; read, interpret and record data accurately; organize, prioritize and follow-up on work assignments; work independently and as part of a team; make sound decisions within established guidelines; analyze a complex issue, and develop and implement an appropriate response; follow written and oral directions; promote and observe safety principles and work in a safe manner; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Skill to: Operate an office computer and a variety of word processing and software applications, including graphic and presentation programs. 

THE SELECTION PROCESS

The process may include an in-basket exercise, individual interviews, panel interviews and/or other related components.  Only those candidates who have the best combination of qualifications in relation to the requirements and duties of the position will continue in the selection process.
