The Substance Use Disorder Counselor I/II position is located in the Behavioral Health division at the Health and Human Services Agency. This position performs a variety of para-professional and responsible eligibility determination and case management duties for alcohol and drug programs, including crisis services to individuals; and performs related duties as assigned. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor II is the full journey-level class within series and performs the full range of duties as assigned, responsible for direct client contact in the provision of case management including complex cases. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs client intake procedures, eligibility determinations and establishes case loads and services for programs in drug and alcohol, specialized programs, grant funded programs, and other health and human services programs.
• Maintains Glenn County drug and alcohol specialized programs, grant funded programs caseloads under the supervision of a health services program coordinator or HHSA program manager.
• Communicates with clients; determines eligibility, educates clients regarding various health services, social services, grant funded and specialized programs and recommends other sources of services for those not eligible.
• Tracks, documents, and prepares information for appropriate billing for services; maintains established productivity rates for a variety of health services programs.

Job Specification - Maintenance Worker I

The South Placer Municipal Utility District is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker I.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II, in an effort to fill current vacancies and expand staffing levels. About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Assistant Engineer is the entry level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the professional engineering work not requiring registration as a Civil Engineer. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Associate Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the more complex and difficult assignments within the division.

The Associate Engineer is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series and is responsible for performing the more complex design and construction of capital improvement projects and for reviewing private development projects for design conformance and accuracy. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering assignments requiring considerable knowledge of various aspects of civil engineering including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the most complex and difficult assignments within the division and may exercise direct supervision over assigned project staff.

The Senior Civil Engineer is an advanced journey level registered professional engineer class and exercises full responsibility for planning and organizing a variety of assigned engineering projects and directing the work of assigned staff. Incumbents perform complex professional engineering and program management assignments demanding considerable knowledge of various aspects of engineering and related program requirements including land development, planning, design standards and regulations, construction and maintenance. This classification is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the level of accountability expected in the performance of the most complex and difficult assignments, and the performance of program management responsibilities.

This position receives direction from the Engineering Manager, and may receive direction from a Senior Engineer, and the City Engineer.  Associate and Senior Engineers may exercise direct supervision over professional and technical support staff and staff augmentation consultants.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, crawling and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties.  The position also requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.  Additionally, the position requires both near and far vision in reading written reports and work related documents. This is a volunteer position intended as an educational and community service experience. The Chipping Crew Members work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.  

The primary purpose of this crew is to operate a residential chipping program for the local community. This includes responding to chipping requests, traveling to those addresses with a truck and chipper, chipping the material, ensuring a clean site upon leaving, potentially hauling and dumping the material at a temporary holding site, assisting with loading, and ensuring activities are adequately tracked. The applicant must be comfortable working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions and lifting objects frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Chipping crew members will also assist with community workdays utilizing the truck and chipper or assisting with cutting and hauling combustible materials and filling green waste dumpsters.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

THE POSITION

The position entails working in hazardous situations, and may involve abusive persons, potential physical violence and the potential risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of law enforcement duties. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to drive motorized vehicles, operate a variety of law enforcement equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS

Knowledge of:Operations and standard operating procedures of a Police Department; principles of crime prevention and suppression; modern law enforcement methods and procedures, including patrol, crime prevention, traffic control and investigation; basic principles of law enforcement information systems; methods and techniques of supervision, training and motivation; basic principles of mathematics; applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations; methods and techniques of scheduling work assignments; standard office procedures, practices and equipment; modern office equipment including a computer and applicable software; methods and techniques for record keeping and report preparation and writing; proper English, spelling and grammar; occupational hazards and standard safety practices.

Ability to: Gather, analyze and evaluate facts and evidence and reach sound conclusions; act quickly and calmly in emergency situations; interpret, explain and apply applicable laws, codes and regulations; read, interpret and record data accurately; organize, prioritize and follow-up on work assignments; work independently and as part of a team; make sound decisions within established guidelines; analyze a complex issue, and develop and implement an appropriate response; follow written and oral directions; observe safety principles and work in a safe manner; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Skill to: Operate an office computer and a variety of word processing and software applications; safely and effectively operate a variety of law enforcement equipment, firearms and a police vehicle in emergency situations.

THE SELECTION PROCESS

This recruitment is for Lateral or Academy Graduate candidates only.  Only those candidates who have the best combination of qualifications in relation to the requirements and duties of the position will continue in the selection process. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an invitation to the process. The recruitment process is as follows:

4. Computer Voice Stress Analyzer Test (CVSA®)

Candidates selected for the position will be required to complete a full-background investigation, reference checks, fingerprint check, medical/drug-test and a psychological exam.  Upon hire, Lateral candidates must complete an abbreviated Field Training Program and Academy Graduate Candidates must complete a 16-week Field Training Program.
